Guest comic up.  Anyone here read A Girl and Her Fed (http://agirlandherfed.com/)?  Never heard of it before, but it looks interesting.

(Maybe this time around I'll actually pay attention to who's doing the guest strips so I can get more reading material, wouldn't that be smart)

Hanners looks somewhat like Hanners in the last panel, but completely wrong in the earlier ones. I'm not sure what's off about it, just...something's off. I do like the strip overall though.

I, personally, see little Hanners except for blonde.

I think it is her body language, Hanners is generally much more guarded in her mannerisms ie the last panel but in the first panel her posture is kinda saying "hey look at me." Also she kinda looks like Dora in the second/third panels.

I have been reading it for a few years now, and highly recommend it. The artist work has expanded leaps and bounds over the early days. Both in the art and storytelling departments. With a lot of interesting characters. It falls considerably more on the 'weird' side of the 'real life, but stranger' scale than QC. But there is a lot of very dense, interesting and well put together world building.

They may initially be thought of as Gods, but will ultimately be greeted as senders of Butt Disease.

Future historians will refer to the Trojan Butt that heralded the 100 year Butt War.

A PETABYTE, of porn. A PETABYTE, of greatness.

In all seriousness, if alien lifeforms do look like us, that would be a great way of making first contact. But I wouldn't have let pintsize do the selection, there might be interspacial tentacle monsters and they might find that offensive.

Worse, they might not find it offensive.

"We've analyzed the video that the humans sent us, and it's all about mating behavior. Apparently humans use mating as a form of polite greeting."
"Well, that would be great if our anatomies weren't so different. First contact could be awkward."
"Then I think you should look at this video segment."
"Whoa, they're into tentacles? Set a course for Earth, maximum warp! This is one first contact mission I intend to lead myself!"

Or outright find it disgusting.

"Yuck! That poor planet, infested by fleshy, squishy things obsessed with their reproductive bodily functions like that! In the name of galactic aesthetics, we need to glass the entire thing so there's no chance of more of that gooey filth contaminating other worlds!"

Not a lot of porn makes the link to reproduction apparent; it's a pretty big jump to assume that aliens would recognise it as such.

I just thought I'd mention The Lunatic Republic by Compton Mackenzie, a sort-of-SF satirical novel about life on another planet where life is the same as on Earth but exaggerated. The people speak a kind of English but many words are different --  "rocket" means "fart." There is much hilarity when the visitors explain that they arrived  on a rocket.

I'll let myself out.

The Internet makes it easy to collaborate (IBM and Microsoft told me so). The point is that it would be trivial these days for the guest artists to confer on-line and agree on a set arc.

For a moment I thought the chap with the hat was one of the townsfolk in Alice Grove.

Which would  mean one of two things -  the porn comes back after being in a big eliptical orbit out in the Oort cloud for the last 7000 years.  Or Alice Grove is actually a rip-off of The Village.

It'd be awesome either way.

Hanners must have come up with a total-conversion drive (http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/torchships.php) for Butt Rocket 1, since it has no room for propellant-tanks (like 99.9999% of fictional space-ships).

Deleted scene from: "Questionable Content: The Motion Picture"

Exterior station.  The Station has been brought alongside the core of Bu'ket.  The crew follow the HANNERS PROBE along a pathway.  In the center of a depression sits the core of Bu-ket, surrounded by a nimbus of light.  The crew approach and note the faded lettering along the machine's sides.

Hannelore PROBE: Bu'ket!
MARTEN: B-U-K-E-T ...B-U-T-T-R-O-C-K-E-T ...Buttrocket! ...Buttrocket VI?
CLAIRE: PAPA. Pintsize Aeronautics and Porn Administration. Marten, this was launched more than three hundred years ago!
MARTEN: Buttrocket series, designed to carry porn to the farthest reaches of the universe!
CLAIRE: Buttrocket VI ...disappeared into what they used to call a black hole.
MARTEN: It must have emerged sometime on the far side of the Galaxy and fell into the machine's planet's gravitational field.
FAYE: The machine inhabitants found it to be one of their own kind, primitive yet kindred. They discovered its simple twentieth-century programming. Collect all porn possible.
CLAIRE: Learn every position that is learnable. Return that information to its Creator.
FAYE: Precisely, Ms. Augustus, the machines interpreted it literally.
FAYE: They built this entire vessel so that Buttrocket could fulfill it's programming.
MARTEN: And on its journey back it amassed so much porn, it achieved consciousness itself. It became a living thing.
ALIEN MACHINE VOICE: (unintelligible)
HANNERS PROBE: Marten unit, Bu'ket awaits the information.
MARTEN: Station, order up the computer library of records, on the late twentieth-century PAPA probe, Buttrocket VI...

I don't mind it so much when a series/show has a few running gags as long as they also have
new jokes to go along with them. Also when an old running gag suddenly get's an unexpected
twist or something I usually find it hillarious.

Oh, I don't know; I think that Dave Willis is showing a keen understanding of what makes slapstick work here.

A foreshadowed catastrophe of this kind where the person said such a misfortune is funny when it happens to someone else is the sort of thing that The Three Stooges or even great clowns like Chaplain or Keeton would have used.

A cosmobutt.

I like you, also.

If it positioned itself on an orbiting telecommunications array, would it be a Sit-tellite?

It might have to do that, I mean, what's the plan for when the propulsion system craps out? Would it qualify as an Ass-teroid? It's full of porn, sobmaybe a cumet? There's other possibilities, butt that seems most likely.

There are so many possibilities here. It's booty-ful. Hopefully my string of wordplay didn't rump-le any tailfeathers.

...

Okay, I'm done. I think.

I hope.

I want to be done. I wanted to be done after the first one. The devious pun-elves keep whispering in my ear.

Right up until the last panel I kept waiting to see how this tied into the ButtRocket.

The Buttrocket Chronicles come down to a halt as we check on other important members of our cast.

May was not destroyed by the Buttrocket; in spite of the damage she took, she held on, and is either piloting it to somewhere she can have fun with it or destroying it with her teeth for revenge.

May downloaded her mind into the ButtRocket's computer upon impact. So now she's got what she always wanted: she is going to fly. Also she is going to be a big butt about it.

QC Guest Week Sonnet #1

When Hannelore said unto Pintsize,"Oh!
My little friend, you seem stuck in a rut.
How can I help to lift you from your woe?"
Replied he: "I have built a rocket-butt,
With which I may communicate my love
Of horny mankind's pornographic might
To any mind which may exist above
This earth: an off'ring fit and right
For first contact with some new alien friend!
(And fair warning to far more prudish foes
To keep away)--With your help I can send
It!" She agreed; and so they launched--but, oh!
This callipygian gift to outer space
Returned, and fuckin' smacked May in the face.

So disappointed that there was no buttrocket in Friday's strip. Hopefully it's just setting us up Monday's buttrocket-intensive strip.

Mays chassis is destroyed by the buttrocket and Marigold has to react fast to save the AI from the severed CPU. So she uploads May to Momos old chibi-chassis, which is still laying in her closet.

So Pintsize finally meets a dream come true: a female AI his size and as sordid and rotten as himself.
Together they will bring doom upon this trivial western civilisation...

Jeph basically hits the nail on the head in today's news post: There are a lot of things the thought of which Hannelore likes but, when the time comes to put it into practice, she wigs out. The problem? Her imagination is just too good and she self-triggers based on her own hypothetical imaginings!

*Sigh* I hope that Jeph changes his mind about next week being more guest strips. They're tolerable and there is the occasional gem (like the 'Disney Princess' strip, parts of which are canon in my head). The thing is that I read QC for Jeph's ongoing story, not random funnies. It's his story-telling that sells the comic to me! Filler strips and guest strips just don't do it for me as a general rule.

Yeah, I get that Jeph wants a vacation but, over on Alice Grove, he said just a week before we get back to the story! If the guest strips are so good, hold them in reserve for the next time he's unwell or stuck at an airport or something!

So only a.slight variation on the Butt Wreck: The Motionless Picture scenario, above, is needed. ...

Like being kicked in the balls immediately before orgasm so it shoots back inside you, today's comic required a long buildup for a painfully disappointing anti-climax.
