Was DeadJournal a real thing? I kind of have the impression that it was, but I don't know why it would have been.

Edit: Hmm, checked on Wikipedia and it looks like DeadJournal still is a real thing. Interesting...

It was LiveJournal for goths!  (no, I'm not joking, there were people on alt.gothic who were on there).

It's a good reminder that Jeph can sometimes change his characters - and radically - when he finally decides what he wants to do with them. Classic!Raven bears little if any resemblance to this character.

Her second appearance hints more at the Raven we grew to love. 

Mainly it's that hint of gullibility...
