Picture's not showing up. Your avatar has been missing for a while too. Is your host playing funny?

Remember, the crystal knife needs to have a silver coated edge.

That may be, but the `crystal knife' is well documented and configured properly. The `sliver coated edge,' on the other hand, is too poorly documented to ever be.

*shrug*
I have weird dreams sometimes. Occasionally I learn things. It's usually best to be careful what books you read in a dream if you can help it. I suppose I should start writing some of it down, though. Sorry if that sounds weird or cryptic.

Dreams are post-veritable fonts of wisdom, but the metaphor was clear enough---no pun intended. More generally, it suggests the inaccessibility of non-phenomena (crystal), the utilization of such technique (knife) requiring (by noumenalization) some phenomenal artifice (silver coating).

No, nothing to see here, ignore that extra click when you pick up the phone.

We're being asked to provide captions for an image we can't see, so these are as likely to be relevant captions as anything else, I guess.

It's a link to a tinyurl URL that points to a weird Tor server, like with Marf's avatar...

I get the same, but it's because my work has started blocking link-shortening sites :(
A bit short-sighted really because those are used in all sorts of business contexts too. But I'll have to wait until the next time I come across one of those before I can raise a complaint - "I can't register for this event" or whatever is a lot more likely to get action than "I can't read some of the forum posts for a webcomic".
(yes, some people would argue that I should check QC at home rather than at work. Too bad for them.)

I suppose one might try looking through my net-site (http://mmhak3fquhmd3fnaplgvgcq5yxefhhv3h53m6p6ckiblau675f6milyd.onion/#QCC), maybe through a `Tor2Web' gateway e.g. onion.ly; I used a locator-shortener, because something---I suspect CloudFlare, but let's not defame---doesn't like onion.ly, and is reeaaallly slowing down posting, then throwing an `internal server error'. It worked fine once before---hence why I doubt it'd be these forums' software---but after that, it only failed so.

I think it's meant to be the last panel from the end of Brun and Elliot's conversation last week.

It could still be something in the forum software, as your link is missing the ".ly" after "onion" which is what I saw happen to the url of your avatar when I looked into it. It's easily avoided by not using onion.ly, I suppose - but maybe you have some reason to suppose that linking images from QC is a major security problem for you.
The avatar issue is more easily fixed by simply uploading the image to the forum instead of linking to it.

Right, it turns out that CloudFlare runs an "onion" service, using the TLD ".onion" (https://blog.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-onion-service/). Given that onions require a kind of interference with the normal communications, it is entirely possible that it is erroneously interfering with a ".onion.ly" string that it finds.

Elliot: Ah! My evil exes are back to destroy me!
Burrito: You're not Scott Pilgrim, we're not evil, and that's not even how it happened in that book.
Tibby (TBS): And we're not your exes.
