What sort of archtype would you be? Like innocent healer, tough as nails fighter, etc, etc.
Me? I'd be a quick, flexible fighter (magic sucks) who used tonfa and basically just ran circles around enemies before beating them repeatedly. Like Riou of Suikoden II. (The main character...and if you haven't played the Suikoden series, ESPECIALLY II, you have to, right now. NOW. Good luck finding a copy, though.)
-
Muahaha! I would be the... Librarian.
CoC rules....
-
Gritty ranger. Think Walden with an intense pessimistic view and duel weilding swords.
-
pound-em-till-they-stop-moving-style fighter.
dunno, never got used to mages or thieves.
-
A quick fighter who uses a sword, similar to Tidus, but using a rapier or something similar.
Since I actually went to the Junior Olympics when I was in High School for Foil Fencing, I figured it would make sense.
-
I'd be a womanizing, drug-smoking, back-stabbing (literally), wallet-stealing rogue.
Well, I'd like to be.
I'd probably just be a tramp though.
-
Mostly, the characters I create tend to follow a fairly standard trend- they're usually handy in the thick of a fight, heavily armoured, and come with a repertoire of healing spells/abilities. I tend to play, depending on the game:
D&D-based games - Cleric/fighters (my favourite type), paladin/clerics, druid/rangers (I ALWAYS multi-class). For a change, however, this year I am using a rogue/sorcerer.
Diablo 2: The paladin. Heavy armour, and the "prayer" aura makes him damn near invulnerable if you take the time to get him some decent gear and add planty of skill levels to "prayer". equipping him with "triumphant" weaponry is invaluable, too.
I always play as a human male in his early twenties (much like myself). Generally, strong, analytical and frugal with his words - again like me.
-
hmmmm, in d&D type games such as BG2 i usually go with a rogue that has pretty high fighting skills and excells in all things rogue-ish. so thats what id be. and id also like to be the strong silent type.....
-
I would be a wiseass blck mage. Kind of like Lulu from FFX, but cooler. And a guy, that too.
-
But sad gamer-types everywhere would fawn over a Lulu-esque black mage...with more boobs, and leather.
Actually, hold that thought. After seeing the destruction wrought by people having crushes on video game characters, it'd be a bad idea. I mean...Cosplay. Just...think about that for a second.
-
Does this have to be swords and armor? 'cause I use guns.
-
Umm, think Zidane from Final Fantasy IX. Now, make him a little taller and give him black hair and a soul patch. That's me. I would play me in an RPG.
-
If i play fantasy setting (quite rare) i usually play Grave Robber. Or if setting gives in a gunnerman.
-
I'd be Mort from Planescape: Torment. I've never had any use of my body anyway.
(Was his name really Mort, btw? *amnesia*)
-
I would be the guy in a bar who whenever you talk to him, says "check out my dance!" and dances slowly and monotonously for ten minutes while you sit there unable to move.
That, or the inventor guy.
-
I would be a multiarchetype, mostly spellcaster, with a little warrior and a good deal of roguish traits.
-
i like being a sassy little magic caster. like a white mage with +10 sarcasm.
gwee hee. good stuff.
-
Welcome to Corneria.
-
D&D : A lawful-evil Kung Fu monk.
Vampire (the masquerade) : A Nosferatu with super obfuscate powers.
-
I'd probably be a necromancer-type battle mage who weilds either a mystic sword, or a staff.
I'd sacrifice my Moxie for the Mysticality boost and have a little bit of muscle.
Either that or a Pastamancer. Oh yeah, Starch-a-liscious!
-
Umm, think Zidane from Final Fantasy IX. Now, make him a little taller and give him black hair and a soul patch. That's me. I would play me in an RPG.
You have a tail? Sweet...
-
Man, I wanna be a Jedi.
Force powers and a lightsaber.
*waves hand in your face* You want to give me all your money
-
the playfull, mischivous and distracting pixie! or everyones favorite tough femail fighter who has a heart but denys it to everyone untill someone brings it out of her.
... i rp way too much
-
black mage. I'd just sit back, and cast fire3 over and over again. When I get really pissy, cast gravity, or one of those nifty crushing spells. my alignment would be chaotic evil. not regular evil, because I really don't care what the hero does. I would also try very much to look under white mage's dress. basicly, black mage from 8-bit theater.
-
i'd be a stealth-based fighter with a weapon specialty of using a big axe
-
Stealth based with a big axe?
...Big axes aren't exactly stealthy...
-
Welcome to Corneria.
-
Thief. Definitely thief.
-
prostitute...
what? they don't have those? RPG's suck... I'm makin my own... it's gunna be way better then all yours...
-
Fallout had prostitutes. That is why the two Fallout games RULE (BOS has been retconned, don't mention it to me, lalalalalalalala). Actually, that has nothing to do with why they rule, but it does add a LOT to the post-apoc atmosphere.
-
Fallout WAS good.
Anyway, c'mon, totally go swashbuckler. Not only are they hella awesome, they have an awesome name.
Debonair'd to THA MAX!
(>~_-)>
-
Blacksmith/weaponsmith. No armour to speak of, so pretty nimble, and using a pair of warhammers in combat
-
I would be a FFXI style Paladin, or a FFXI style Dragoon. Because using a Spear and having a pet Wyvern would ROCK.
Heavily Armored with powerful-hitting weapons, either way. Not to mention wicked combat-skills.
-
Hafling Barbarian!
-
I'd be a mage type all the way, maybe half fighter type kind of thing...
-
Vampire: Recluse Toreador who tends to be a bit depressed, wears black, likes dead roses, art, and The Cure.
D&D: Recluse Assassin who tends to be a bit depressed, wears black, likes dead roses, art, and The Cure.
RL: Semi Recluse Software Tester who tends to be a bit depressed, wears black, likes dead roses, art, and The Cure.
I play RL like an RPG, but I always fail my Save versus Work. :(
:P

Welcome to Corneria.

Hafling Barbarian!
D00d do you play DR? Did we already have this convo?
I'd totally be a badass Monk with a staff.
-
some sort of mana-based mage/thief combination would be interesting, i think. i have never been too big on the D&D spells-per-day bullshit, always preferred the mana-based spellcasting model. pair that with a high skills-based character like a thief and i think i could have some fun. magic-aided stealth would be cool, as would memblurring people who catch me in the act, etc.
also: throwing a knife in the dark using infravision, guiding it with magic to its intended target then retrieving it with telekinesis afterwards as you gently lower the victim's body to the ground silently would be totally boss.
also also: "hmm, lock is too complex for my skill? dang" ... [fireball]
-
I'd be an effeminate, big-eyed lad with a name like Fayt or Chrono, and I'd save the world like whut.
-
i'd be the character that i play in every pen and paper and online RPG, the powr-mad mage bent on either conquering the world by unlocking every possible dark magic secret, or if that doesnt work, destroying it all... if i cant have it no one will!
-
Oh man, at first I thought you meant from a specific RPG and I was all like "KEFKA!!!"
But to actually answer your question, probably a mage of some sorts. I could hang back and blast things without having to get too close or recieve that much damage. The mages truly are the nerd class of the RPG multi-verse.
Either that or a thief, because thiefs (thieves? What's the corrcet term here?) rock.
-
hey, I AM a paladin in FFXI.
anywho, i guess I would be a dual dagger wielding sarcastic assassin who finally finds something worth protecting as opposed to looking for the next easy throat. like in Ragnarok Online
-
D00d do you play DR? Did we already have this convo?
I'd totally be a badass Monk with a staff.
Abuh? DR? Not that I am aware of. And again, not that I am aware of.
-
I'd be the villian who joins the party later on, and is wildly indifferent, maybe with "beat with flaming zombie limbs" abilty or something. WILDLY INDIFFERENT
-
I'd be a summoner who could use black and white magic at my wish.
>:D
Say hello to Anima...
-
D&D: mage. easy. possibly necromancer, if i was in a group with enough people so i wouldn't have to rely on that lame-ass cold hands spell to save my behind until i got to level 10000000 and actually got decent spells.
Mage (better than everything): most recently i was thinking dude with big coat and madddddd (the extra d's give it more emphasis) correspondence, so he could quickly and easily access everything within said coat and possibly various pocket dimensions connected to the coat also. on the other hand, the euthanatoi are way cooler than everything.
i miss rpgs...stupid life.

-
I would be a White Mage with Yin Yang Magic as my secondary ability.
-
Blue Mage: definately the coolest thing ever. why'd they have to off the concept so early? :(
-
Man, I'm such a geek for already discussing this with my friends about a million times by now.
I'd be the saucy thief who takes forever to be a party member because I'd keep showing up and stealing all your stuff.
Only when I learn the desperate plight of our heroes do I agree to help, touched by their moral sincerity.
And then at the end I steal all their stuff again.
Think Yuffie Kisaragi from FF7. Anyone who hated her was either A) Jealous and angered by her sheer criminal genius, or B) Didn't use her in their party enough and missed their chance to see her sweet side =( (She was the only character who cried with Aeris died)
-
Geez way to ruin FF7 for me!
I kid. I like the thief role as well. With mug already learned.
-
Elan!!!
http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/GiantITP/ootscript?SK=85
he sort of counts, right?
-
im rather pathetic
the only games i play are ff and the ones related to anime that i watch
ex: inuyasha, ghost in a shell...ect.
muahahhah Rikku. because...she's sexy...and Sango because she's an awesome kickass demon slayer/ she gets one of the hottest guys in anime ever...
