Enough people to warrant there being a law against it - I should note that I used to have a life size cut out of Harry Potter, which, on the last day of term I stuck up on the roof of my halls, adorned with thongs and suspender belts, just so all the parents picking their kids up got a view of Harry spearing someone's lacy underwear with his sword.

Do you know what else?

WE'VE KILLED THE THREAD!

People who don't like over-hyped formulaic children's stories that are no better than those of any of their contemporaries? People who don't want to get involved in the dick-measuring contests of 12 year olds with their queuing to read a book and first to read it races? People who don't have time to read children's books because they're interested in things that are actually happening?

I guess those people. ^

But I quite liked the first four. Haven't read the fifth. Too distracted by work and Chomsky/other world-politics stuff.

I win those competitions. I was halfway through The Order of the Phoenix at daybreak on the day of it's release, and had finished it by just after sundown, after ye olde fashioned midnight queue-up (with my whole family, we all by our own individual copies).

hate to say it but....thats so sad.

The books themselvs, are not that well written. Theyre basically surviving thanks to a good concept.

JK's actual writing ability is a little crap if you ask me.

Burn Harry Burn!

I think you mean The 6th Harry Potter book.  HP and the Order of the Phoenix was book 5, the Half Blood Prince will be book 6.

Yeah, I preordered it a few months back when it was first available for preordering.

:P

Harry Potter books are real books: you can tell by the fact that they possess mass and 3 sizable dimensions. Did you get sold mere cardboard cut-outs instead of Harry Potter books? I pity thee!

same here, infact, im reading two books at the mo, one is David Eddings and the other is

GOOD OMENS!

its good, but it doesnt compare to the wonderfulness of the discworld series. (my most liked of which has to be Men at Arms)

'The HOHO, like the HAHA but deeper' - said as a government official falls into a very deep hole, haha being a kind of ditch.

I have every single book Terry Pratchett has ever published except one of the Discworld yearbooks.

This includes all his childrens books, his sci-fi books. all the discworld maps, Nanny Oggs cookbook and the Unadulterated Cat, as well as the more poserish works other mortals own.

Yeah, the director did a much better job, than the other directors on the first two. It was less rushed and had an overall better look to it.

Oh, and I like the books, read them twice, planning on reading again when I finish my current book in preparation for the 6th. It will be grand.
