yes...um, interesting....I can't really tell if i like it.
i think they kinda ruined the song.
-
*blink*blink*
wow. that ad, um, yeah, not liking it. i feel like that style - the black silohuettes on bright colors - is getting old. and they did do something weird to the song. it doesn't seem to fit.
-
It was pretty cool until about halfway through. Still better than U2 though.
-
Nah, they didn't but it...I just think the song is a pretty weak piece when it's edited...otherwise it's a great song.
The problem is that the silohuettes' movements get kinda slow at the end.
-
Yeah, that sillohuette thing is getting old. I still love the song, but it kinda strikes me that they're running out of 'kee-razy' dancing ideas.
-
Unbelievable! This has decreased my desire to ever own an iPod even more
I didn't think that was possible!
-
Yeah it decreasedmy want of the new gorillaz album P fing U
-
I likes the 'old' Gorillaz, whose main impetus seemed to be bizarre humor. Now they're just generic hip-hop.
As for the video, I actually like it. But that's just 'cause rollerskates are awesome.
-
Yeah, I haven't actually heard that song before...
So I don't really have a valid opinion on the music...
HOWEVER... Rollerskating is cool... Synchronised Rollerskating is even better!!!

That's partly because their new album was produced by Danger Mouse. (I think, but it was definately a hiphop producer.)
The bizarre humour was great, especially the track 'punk'.
-
It was indeed Dangermouse, who is indeed a Hip-Hop producer. However, the 'old' Gorillaz also had a Hip-Hop producer in the form of Dan the Automator, so I'm not quite sure what you were getting at.
-

My thoughts exactly.
-
You also have to remember, Gorillaz don't actually exist beyond the frontman from Blur and the creator of Tank Girl. All the other characters are played by various guest musicians, so the style varies not only from album to album, but from track to track.
-
Also it's De La Soul who are on the track and don't really strike me as generic hiphop from what I've heard. I was iffy on the replacement of the Automator (especialy when I got to thinking about how Del probably wouldn't be back on it) with Dangermouse but after (finally) hearing his "Grey Album" I know I will end up picking up the new Gorillaz.
I have no opinion on the comercial it self. When watching televison I make it a point to actually switch channels in the hopes of finding something to watch while they are on.
-
If you like dangermouse, I'd check out Dangermouse and Jemini - Ghetto Pop Life. It's great.
And... back on topic.

I've only heard a track or two from that, but I'd have to agree.

Without eyes to see, the Happy Folk were blind.
Crazy shit.

De La Soul are pretty significantly not generic hip-hop. They are probably one of the better groups out there, in my opinion at least. I also think their showing on Feel Good is AMAZING. I'm not sure what it is about that, but they freaking nailed that song.
Back to the comerial; it hurt my head. I have to brillo pad my eyes now. When the pain stops, I'll get back to you guys.
-
wow. well i didn't mind it. and i love the song. so i guess i have nothing i complain about...
-
I try not to watch ipod commercials, but I fuggin love that song.
-
what is it with you people and hating ipods? why??
-
I'd presume such a topic has been covered before on these boards and that bringing it up will result in mud slinging and orders to place nice. A google of "iPods suck" will probably cover a lot of the ground.
-
why so hostile? jus' a question mate.
-
Because they're a media hype craze and there are cheaper and far more functional models out there that preform far better in the eyes of some people.
-
really? ah. interesting. so what makes these other versions better?
is it the fact that they work with the hipster theory of relativity?
-
Considering I'm not a major follower of portable music playing, I'm not the best person to say.
But "hipster theory of relativity" considering some of the anti-iPod people share my views on "indie hipster music" for one reasony or another, not really. Those for and against span all types of music lovers I think.
The fact other brands can be cheaper, have a better battery life, a battery that doesn't die, have storage in the same range (or better in some cases), can play larger ranges of file types (MP3, Wav, Ogg, FLAC, etc), work as drag and drop file storage for all data. As as having drag and drop music input that doesn't need to "register files" or just a product and OS bound application. And aren't used by every 14 year old with rich parents. Are a range of the reasons I've seen stated and have read about.
But as I said, I'm not a follower of portable music. I still have a genric brand 512meg SD flash card player from about 2/3 years ago.
