Post by: ComfortEagle on 01 Jun 2005, 17:34
Ok, so ive waited for a new Gorillaz album for a while, and the day it came out  my tire blew so i had to use it and  other assortred change to fix that, and now that i have the money i went in to get it and it was sold out.

So for those who already have it, Is it worth it?

On a scale of one to ten, I'd have to say HELL YES.

It's a really fine album.  I really like the sound and everything worked out quite well.  Danger Mouse does an excellent on the beats.  And all of the guest artists are top-notch.  Dirty Harry is probably the weakest showing of any of the guest artists, but only because it's about a 8/10 song instead of 9/10.....

I reccomend getting it.  I have a pirated copy until I can scrounge enough cash to get a real one.

I've been listening to it for about a month now, this album is absolutely amazing. As soon as I have the money I'm buying it. Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head is my favorite track on the entire album for just plain wierdness.

Wow, we're like in the exact same boat!  I love that track.  However, for songs, Feel Good is my favorite.

Feel Good is super awesome (esp. the crackly, staticky "Windmill, windmill" part)... actually, I don't mind the album at all (haven't bought yet, had other priorities, but I'll get it soon)

Clint Eastwood is still my favourite Gorillaz song, even though it was the popular single

The album as a whole is absolutely briliiant. The last three tracks all connect to one another and the last two use the London Community Gospel Choir and they sound amazing. A definite delight of an album to own.

Thanks, I have trouble with my spelling.

As to the Clint Eastwood comment, that is a damn fine song.   I really think Del's showing was amazing.  Something about 19/2000 just really worked for me, and thus it is my favorite song..... Man... I just remembered how much I love the Gorillaz.

Yes. Speaking of the art, I love how greatly it has also matured. Especially with Noodle. They did a lot with her image.

New Genius was actually one of my favourite tracks off the first album. Love Albarns vocals and the bluesy sound.

I like the second album, but some of the tracks haven't really grown on me. I  really like "Fire coming out of a monkeys head" but I just don't really get DARE or the last two tracks.

I absolutely adore Feel Good Inc., especially the bassline. It's fantastic. I haven't got this yet, but I should have it soon.

Anyone know why Dan the Automator didn't produce this one? Dnagermouse seems to have done a good job, anyway, but I'm curious.

This is my favorite album in a very long time. Since I bought the first Gorillaz CD, probably. Feel Good Inc. is my favorite track by far, though. I'm a big fan of De La Soul and Gorillaz, so of course I'll like it. I also like Kids With Guns alot.

Yes, noodle lhas definatly "grown up" Who draws the gorillaz characters?
Also i realized alot of stuff on the " Kong studios" flash was on there, like on "dare" the elevators " its icoming up, it's dare" thing. And fire coming out of the monkeys head was panted on a wall.

Jamie Hewlett.  Also responsible for the Tank Girl comic.

I'm really digging Demon Days.  When my brother at first asked me about it my response was along the lines of "It's good though I am not sure it will have as popular singles as the first album, good or bad make of that what you will." and what Chuck said about how the last three tracks connect to each other got me thinking.  The whole album has a good flow to it and maybe that's why my initial thoughts were as they were.

Thanks to Rhapsody, I can stream the album any time. I love it so far. Awesome album from an awesome group.

I only learned recently that members of Blur make up some of the band. Wierd.

It's really a whole lot of different musicians.  Ike Turner does some of the piano in "Every Planet We Reach Is Dead."

Though not many no about it, Dennis Hopper actually was a very short term member of Blur!

The above sentence summed up my undying love for this record. One day, i'll animate something to Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head. It's just that deliciously kooky.

I give this album a 6 - 10 cause of Danger Mouses awesome production,  1 cause of Damon Alburn being on the album, and then an extra point added to the average because of how fucking amazing "Feel Good, Inc." is.

Seriously, Danger Mouse just needs to start producing for De La Soul, cause Feel Good, Inc is tremendous. The overall sound and tone of the album is great, Danger Mouse did a hell of a job, but I still dislike the Gorillaz for the same reason I did when the last album dropped, and the one before that - I hate Damon Alburns voice. Seriously, it makes me want to shoot myself.
