There's a guy at school who claims to know all about Metallica, and what's more, he claims that Enter Sandman was originally a tune by Motorhead that was covered by Metallica on the black album. I told him that was bullshit and that everyone knows Metallica wrote Enter Sandman. Figuring to make some easy cash, I bet him ten bucks that Enter Sandman was a Metallica song. He got some of his buddies who 'know everything about metal', though, and they told me I should pay up the $10 already, because it's 'obvious that Enter Sandman is by Motorhead'. I'm positive that they're wrong, but something about their cocky confidence makes me wonder if I'm going to get their ten bucks. I figured the folks here at QC would know the answer. What's Enter Sandman, an original Metallica song or a song that Metallica covered? Heh, don't laugh at my stupidity. I just want to be sure that I've got this ten bucks.

from http://www.imotorhead.com/new.htm
Motorhead earned a second Grammy nomination in 2000 for Best Metal Performance with a tribute to Metallica's "Enter Sandman" on the 'ECW: Extreme Music' album.
Google is the answer to all of life's problems.

haha, like fun. To be positive, a Metal Archives (http://www.metal-archives.com/) search for the title reveals nothing by Motorhead. You could maybe say it was inspired by Motorhead, someone without a good ear for music might even claim that they nicked a riff from 'No Class', maybe. But no, it's an original 'tallica song, if a sell-out one.
EDIT: MA doesn't list tribute and compilation albums, so, yahr.
Your friend and his friends are tards, btw.
