I mean, I like indie music and all, but this is just stupid. I believe this is something called "crossing the line."

No. Do I agree that they are probably bad music? Yes. But the thing is, who are they to go out and tell other people what good music is? Presuming your own opinion will prove the correct opinion for everyone else is about the most arrogant things I could think of. The point is, we, as individuals, make what is good or bad music. If you think Linkin Park or Evanescence is the greatest music ever, and you enjoy it more than any other music, than that makes it phenomenal music, for you. You could even say Zeppelin, Coltrane, or another respected band is the worst music you ever heard if you genuinely didn't care for it at all. I'd disagree, because in my own opinion, I think other bands are the greatest things ever, and some of you would probably say some bands I listen to are the height of bad taste. Come to your own conclusions, and stick to them. No one else can tell you what is good or bad music, because they aren't you.

I mean really. Even Modest Mouse cashed in on Gravity Rides Everything. I don't think all bands that do it are bad, however this shit is genius.

You know, it's really awesome that we can live in a culture that defends someone like that. Wouldn't you be annoyed if some guy came to your favorite band's show and stood around berating you as an idiot and generally ruining the experience? Would you think he was pretty arrogant to tell you that his opinion was the only right one, and that you were all wrong? Would you think it was stupid that he posted it on the internet and tried to pass off being a jerk as humor and wisdom? I would.
