Tonight REO Speedwagon and tomorrow night Independence Jam featuring The Raveonettes, Kasabian, Rocket from the Crypt, Nada Surf, and Pinback. I liked REO Speedwagon back in my grunge phase of the early 90's plus their tickets are only around $10 while the other five go for $24. Good cheap entertainment. What are you folks going to see this weekend?
-
well, none this weekend but on the 27th i'm going to see lamb of god, unearth, a life once lost, and every time i die. definitely looking forward to this one.
-
A record company called Silverthree (which I have a hard-on for :P) was sponsoring this performance by some very new bands recently at the 9:30 club. I wanted to go, but my mom won't let me go into that area alone and I couldn't get anybody to go with me.

Matricide is always an option.
-
What a thouroghly stupid thread.
-
Your FACE is a thoroughly stupid thread.
Yeah.
That's right.
What now?
-
OMG WHAT MOVIES DID YOU SEE YESTERDAY?
-
Next Friday. Imperative Reaction @ Dissent, here in London. Very excited. Apparently, there's also some sort of fashion show that goes along with the performance.
-
Haven't got anything lined up for aaaaages, but then I'm seeing Motorhead+In Flames, Alice Cooper+Twisted Sister and maybe Cradle of Filth again (I'm not decided, I'll see who the support is and see if I can get any dirt on the set-list first)
-
This week I will be seeing Team Sleep on the 26th.
-
Fri: Tsunami Bomb
Sat: Alkaline Trio
Sun: Bane
-
I'm seeing Reel Big Fish this Friday which I'm kind of uneasy about. I love Why Do They Rock So Hard?, Cheer Up (Even if the lyrics to some of the songs on that album could be very cheesy), and for the most part I like Turn Off the Radio. I was however underwhelmed by their new album and that's just making me worried that I may not enjoy them. I'm sure I'll enjoy the concert, but still.
-
Going to see Green Day, tomorrow. As I have already pointed out in another post.
-
Sunday night, I'm going to see Deep Purple
Friday night, I'm going to see Xiu Xiu
-
Not too many shows are coming up up here for the rest of the month. I'll hopefully be seeing Head Automatica on July 8th though.
-

No worries, they're fucking excellent live. And Aaron is funny as fuck.
I'm seeing Spoon on Tuesday, and (a week after that) a free "Easy-Star All Stars' Dub Side Of The Moon" live show and dance thing at the Peir. It will be awesome. I'm still pissed I missed Fishbone playing this same free concert thing last year. I've only seen'm live once, and they were abso-fucking-lutely amazing.
-
Oerdin I was there. Pinback was why I went, this being the 9th time. Nada surf was not bad. (seen em before). The Raveonettes I was sleepy at the time and I think they did a bad sound job for them I think...I walked out on Rocket from the Crypt after third song.
This thread only has merit in that it is for ahead of time, before the show so people might be able to say, hey I'm going to this show, oh hey me too, blah blah...
-
Hopefully i'll be going to an all ages Evermore gig soon in Perth... is evermore known anywhere else?
-

Hopefully i'll be going to an all ages Evermore gig soon in Perth... is evermore known anywhere else?
Well known on the pop scene in Australia & New Zealand, not sure about other countries yet though.
-

Western Canada shakes its fist at you for all those great lineups over there.
-
what does everybody think about seeing the same band multiple times?
i know i've seen locals many times over, and it's great! (relevance- This will be the second time i see evermore live)
-
Depends what bands and for how much...the show I mentioned above had Pinback making that the ninth time I've seen them, but they are my favorite band so *Shrugs*
Going to see Enon on tuesday, just 10 bucks so anyone in San Diego or nearby should be there :P (that likes that type o music)
-
Glastonbury on tues night till monday morn, then Sigur Ros on the 9th.
Eeeee.
-
what does everybody think about seeing the same band multiple times?
Never managed to see the same band twice, apart from some locals. Will have seen In Flames twice by the end of this year though, and maybe Cradle of Filth, depending on who their support is (Normally, Cradle picks fucking awesome supoort acts, they played one show in Poland with Behemoth AND Christian Death, however when I saw them in April they had some decidedly lackluster metalcore act, though to be fair they were only a UK act covering in for Moonspell)
-
i should be seeing the fallen lie this weekend, but they aren't really very good, i just know the bassist and dated his sister so i'm going.
-
Final Fantasy on Sat and Modest Mouse, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Do Make Say Think, Most Serene Republic on Sunday
Awesome
-
^ Damn you.......
-
i saw modest mouse at bonnaroo, recorded the show too, if anyone can host it, i'll be glad to feed the masses
-

It's great, since bands' performances can vary a lot from gig to gig. There are plenty of bands that I saw once and was unimpressed by but who later won me over, and others that I've loved but have seen do a bad gig. My friends We Are Corpses!! had bad shows the first couple of times I saw them, but by the third they had it all together and tore it up.
-
Not much of a concert goer, but I might try to take in the Hot Hot Heat concert at the Stampede.
-
Gonna go see Ghengis Tron and Behold...The Arctopus this week. I can't wait!
-
i went to see Cyndi Lauper last night, monday i'm going to see Alkaline Trio and next Sunday (the 26th) i'm going to see Modest Mouse, Broken Social Scene and a couple other bands.. woot !
I shake my fist at thee!! EVERY year Cyndi Lauper comes to Casino Rama I wanna go soo bad but alas I cannot for I am not 19!! Blasted Casino Rama.
-
exactly one week till i turn 19
-
i saw modest mouse at bonnaroo, recorded the show too, if anyone can host it, i'll be glad to feed the masses
You could put everything in a file and use www.yousendit.com.
-
I kind of want to see The Aquabats and The Epoxies tonight, but I'm gonna go see Land Of The Dead instead.
earlier this week I saw The Evens. Next week I REALLY want to go see Sleater-Kinney, but I probably can't make it.
-
Well, this is a little far off...but I'm going to see Paul McCartney in Sept.
I wanted to see TMBG (oh come on! they're awesome!) Philly on the 23 of July (hey it'll be a free concert) and AC Newman the 13 of Aug, but I'll be in Aruba/California...I wanted to shoot myself at first...
-
Hmm far off yet not that far off I am seeing Sufjan Stevens.
-
next show is the 11th, im seeing comeback kid
-
No picture sigs are allowed, plzkthxbi.
-
I'm gonna see Madlib and MED at a signing and performance at my local record distributor this week! Maybe in July I will go to Ottawa to see Do Make Say Think.
-

ARGH GAY.
I mean...everyone has the right to like whatever they want *shudders*
-
Going to see Scout Niblett again at the Casbah next month on the 10th.
-

ARGH GAY.

how is it gay to want to go support your favorite bands more than once? if you like seeing bands play live i say see them as many times as you can. i've seen quite a few bands more than once.
you listen to the same songs over and over again don't you?
-
nah, i meant evermore are gay.
-
Not much this month, but I will be going to Tegan&Sara, Reel Big Fish, Flogging Molly, 10 Years, and Warped Tour throughout the next two, if everything goes well.
-
I saw Iron Maiden in Paris at the weekend. It was fucking awesome, Dream Theatre were cool as well. Within Temptation. Bleh. She was quite fit though.
-
Not to be anal but to make it so there is a point to having 2 concert threads, I must say this would be better for here (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/viewtopic.php?t=3914&start=300) since this thread is for concerts yet to come and that one is shows past. It is making its way down the page though and maybe others are just posting all here but just had to mention it *shrugs*
-
It is Wednesday morning, and I still have not found a travelling companion to go see Sleater-Kinney on Friday. I am losing hope.
:(
-
I getta go see Papa Roach this Friday at Bayfest :D
-
DERBY SUMMER PICNIC ON SATURDAY
after I race in a regatta.
DJ FUCKING SHITMAT!
and Plans & Apologies
<333
-
I'm seeing/working the door for the We Are Scientists this Saturday. On Sunday, I'm going to the Drowned in Sound summber barbecue - Apartment headlining, Architecture in Helsinki supporting!
-
Tonight Rob Crow of Pinback will be playing in his hard core band the alpha males, maybe last show with sleeping people (member from pinback in it) and aspects of physics which Rob said he'll play in half the set. FREE show at that.
-
Late last month I went to SDSU's Open air Amphatheater where I saw Pinback, Kasabian, Nada Surf, Rocket from the Crypt, The Raveonettes, and Lady Dotty and the somethings (a local blues/jazz band I can't recall the full name to). All in all it was $24 well spent and we got to sit center almost at the very bottom. Well worth the money.
In July I will be seeing Sufjan Stevens on July 15 at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach while on the 29th and 30th I'll be going to San Diego Street Scene 2005. It's a two day event which costs $70 plus a $7 service charge for a two day pass but I think it is worth it. Here's the line up:
Friday July 29th
-The Killers
-White Stripe
-Social Distortion
-Black Eyed Peas
-Garbage
-Flogging Molly
-Louis XIV
-Rise Against
-Hot Hot Heat
-Kasabian (so them last month and I liked them)
-Autolux
-The International Noise Conspiracy
-The Adolescents
-Morning Wood
-Hard Fi
-Dead 60's
-Trans-Global Underground
-Something for Rockets
-Mocean Worker
Saturday July 30
-Pixies
-Snoop Dog
-Flaming Lips
-311
-Dash Board Confessional
-The Used
-Method Man
-Unwritten Law
-Death Cab for Cutie
-Von Blondies (I saw this Danish group last month too. They're thumbs up.)
-Mix Master Mike
-Spoon
-Swollen Members
-The Locust
-The Preceptionists
-Particle
-Viva Voce
-Gram Rabbit
I only know about half of those bands so I'm not sure which to see and which to skip. Any suggestions? I'm kind of pissed that they're moving it to the stadium this year as normally they just block off a portion of down town and everyone just wonders around among the various stages while stopping off at the numerous bars and pubs in that area. Good music and lots of booze; now that's my kind of gig. Now there will just be the over priced piss beer they sell at the football stadium. :(

Pinback just switched out heir drummer too. Rob Crow (I believe that's the lead singers name) said their last drummer couldn't get along with anyone so they voted him off the island.
-
Goin to see Pixies/Weezer at Summerfest on July 7th. They better play songs off of Pinkerton or I'll be angry.

Do they? I would guess they don't. There was a great AP article (I know, I was surprised too...zing) about how everyone Rivers Cuomo wrote about in the lyrics was mad at him for that record, so not only was it a commercial failure, but it was also personally bad.
They'll probably play "El Scorcho." And who knows, maybe I don't know anything and they'll play a whole bunch. But that's my guess.

Rivers Coumo is a huge attention whore, so he'll play songs of of Pinkerton now that it is considered and indie rock classic. He wouldn't touch them shortly after it was a commercial failure, but now that it's a classic, he wants to cash in on it.
-
I am meant to be at Bleeding Through right now. ;(

I am meant to be at Bleeding Through right now. ;(
Don't worry, I'm sure you're not missing much.

Yes Rob Crow. Yeah I know I was at the show that you were at too where the new drummer played only having practiced with them two days.
-
I'll be missing Weezer and the Pixies this week at Summerfest. Why do venues have shows during the week?? Man, this pisses me off.
Though I guess its not that bad since I've seen both of them already in the last year or so.
I might go see Moby on sunday.
-
Yes Rob Crow. Yeah I know I was at the show that you were at too where the new drummer played only having practiced with them two days.
That's cool. We were at the same show; where were you sitting?
-
AA ummm something, to the right and close sort of, not the closest row, next one up. You?
-
Not the closest but the second up. I was in the middle but way on the left side of the middle (if you were on the stage looking out). I didn't get any where near the free tee shirts they kept throwing out. :(
-
Awww I was close once but I thought decking the guy reaching for it next to me to get a clear catch would have been in poor taste.
-
So are you going to Street Scene? That's kind of the creme de la creme of the local concert schedule.
-
Broken Social Scene this Friday at the Yonge-Dundas Square for free!
Then Saturday is the Split album release for two of my favorite local bands The Vermicious Knid and The Sourkeys in Waterloo.
-
finch. COME ON!
-
Going to go see Dinosaur Jr. at the Orlando House of Blues. Oh my God.
-
I'm going to see Ida in Northampton on Saturday. Yay!
-
T in the Park this wkd Woohooo
Wearing an Irony shirt
-
Actually street scene don't look that great overall to me. Well I am seeing scout niblett again on the 10th though built to spill who I have not seen are playing the same night...I don't know, I really like built to spill but Scout Niblett...and built to spill is playing at an evil place...evil....
-
SOMA?
-
*shudders* yes the S word, not that has stopped me before, just anti bonus reason
-
My brother is going to T in the Park. We live right near it. I am not though.
However I am going to see Sigur Ros on Friday night.
Hopefully the ethereal Icelandic moaning will not loosen my legs! (http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=123)
-
Billy Corgan on Tuesday at the Henry Fonda Theater here in Los Angeles.
That's it for now.
-
the pawnshop orchestra in about four hours.
-
this evening I will be going to a place where some probably crappy local bands will be playing, but I will only be there for the free (with admission) food and beer.
-
Next week im gonig to see Rammstein...
-
I know it's not this week...but in Augusts I will be seeing Magnolia Electric Co. Woo.
-
very, very good band.
-
Oerdin, that's an insane line up. Kasabian puts on a good show; I saw them at Bowery Ballroom a while ago and had a great time.
I'm not going to any shows this week (stupid job . . . .) but I did just buy tix to see Shins & The White Stripes at Coney Island at the end of September. Like, just a minute ago. Best $100 spent EVAR.

-
Broken Social Scene this Friday at the Yonge-Dundas Square for free!
I went to that. BSS were great, but those fucking giraffes killed me. I don't know about this week, but I'm going to see some crazy local PUNK band called The Antics soon. They look scary.
-
I'll be missing Weezer and the Pixies this week at Summerfest. Why do venues have shows during the week?? Man, this pisses me off.
The Pixies have no stage presence. No big loss.
I'm seeing the Constantines tomorrow night and BearvsShark next Monday. Seems like both bands should be good live. Anyone know for certain?
-
got my baby shambles tickets. rock and roll.
-
The Pixies do kinda suck live.
I missed Les Claypool/Gabby La La/whoever else Les wanted to play with last night because my plane back into Kansas came in an hour late. FUCK!
-
"Kinda" is an understatement.
-
I've only seen them once, so I couldn't really say they completely suck live.
-
I'm going to see Krafty Kuts at the ANU Bar this Friday night. Should be some good fuckin stuff!
-
I'm seeing the Constantines tomorrow night and BearvsShark next Monday. Seems like both bands should be good live. Anyone know for certain?
Welp, just got back from the Constantines. Fucking impressive. Quite the show, and the venue was so tiny. Maybe 150 folks in there. Maybe.
-
I'm going to see Electric Eel Shock tomorrow, woo! There's nothing like three crazy Japanese trying to play Rock'n'Roll to brighten your day.
Sex, drugs and e-mail!
PS: By the way, is there a live show review thread of some sort?
-
Last night I saw Sufjan Stevens at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach. The opening acts were Liz James & Bunky; I found Bunky to be pretty damn good though Liz James put the crowd to sleep. I have to confess that Sufjan Stevens is way more mellow then the music I normally listen to and I was hoping for a bit more energy though they did come up with a few upbeat songs which got the crowd to their feet. Sufjan Stevens kind of reminds me of Jack Johnson on downers and with a larger back up band still you could tell they had tried hard to come up with a unique sound and there is something to the fact that they accomplished that.
-
got my baby shambles tickets. rock and roll.
They'll make nice coasters.
-
I'm hitting the Hollywood Bowl Wednesday for their "Music of Woody Allen" night cause the adorable Nellie McKay will be there.
I went to the Bowl for the first time two weeks ago for their orchestrated video game music night. :)
I'm also seeing Beck at Gibson/Universal Friday.
-
This Friday: Chevelle, Taproot, 30 Seconds to Mars in Noho
The 31st: Theory of a Deadman
I might see a few more depending on whats going on in Noho
-
it dies today, the black dahlia murder, bury your dead, the haunted, the red death
on wednesday
-
I saw Alexisonfire at Bluesfest in Ottawa. It was an awesome concert. I was front row so I got a little crushed. All the guys came out though to give autographs! Ahhh this I shall never forget.
-
I guess we gave up on the point of the two concert threads
and Oerdin I was there too :P and I will agree except to say sufjan was eargasmic besides a couple of the different versions that were only a little not as great but probably only because they could not reproduce them live to exactness. Arg, now I am one of the giver uppers.
-
I'm seeing Interpol next friday night, (the 29th) and hopefully, if i can pull it off i'll be seeing Sarah Blasko on the saturday.
-
I saw the Blood Brothers last night...
Was rockin' :)
And if I can get off my arse and get tickets I'll be going to Interpol on... the 2nd of August... Yipee.
Yay for cool American bands coming ALL the way to NZ :)
-
And Japan! Interpooool.
-
Okay, so it's not next week, but I just bought the tickets so...
Coheed And Cambria in Cologne. Yay!
Now I just have to get tickets for The Blood Brothers somewhere...
-
LE TIGRA!!!
I'm SO Stoked!!!
