As much as I hate to admit this, I bought a CD on the advice of a Pitchfork review. I did check other online sources, but since I don't live in Brooklyn (actually brookline) I had no way on knowing who the hell they were. Just wondering if anyone else has heard Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. I've been listening non-stop for the past week...it's damn brilliant. Curious to hear others thoughts if they've heard it or listen to any of their online mp3's floating about. They just sold out a show at the Mercury (which I can't complain about becuase it was probably because of the review I read getting other people to but the album and thus want to go to the concert).

I've been meaning to check them out because Oh My Rockness (http://www.ohmyrockness.com) seems to love them. So they are good?
-
From the songs I've heard they're pretty darn good.

They're good. They sound like a lower-key, less melodramatic (but also not quite as good) Arcade Fire.

a;jdhalkjsh! YES.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are great. I wouldn't be too ashamed of buying a CD based off of a Pitchfork review. I don't agree with them all the time, but generally when they give an album a good review, it's truly a good album. I still give the poorer fair a chance, too, and I like tons of shit "they" could care less about. If you feel too ashamed for Pitchfork, check out MetaCritic to see reviews from multiple sources, then make your own decision.

I heard a little of it today. It wasn't horrible, but didn't do much for me. I'll give it another listen later.

i downloaded this the other week, and was immediately put off by the whiney drawl of the singers voice on the first track. Second listen and I was hooked.
Just avoid the first track.

i really loved it the first days i listened to them, but then it was a bit 'meh' about them. i like the singerīs voice. itīs like a tired thom yorke that just woke up and didnt drank his coffee and donīt want to sing.
my favourite track is "the skin of my yellow country teeth". nice new order-like guitars.
oh, and hi.
