Wow... this game is so much fun. I finally picked it up today and I love it. It is like a tweeked version of Tetris Attack with much cooler music and pretty animations. If you own a DS and do not own this game you should be ashamed of yourself.
-
Wait, it's out already? Damn it. Well, payday is a good day as any to find this out.
-
You know what a sign of a good puzzle game is?
Whenever you close your eyes, you can still see it playing in your head. I have that for Meteos after having it for a week and I must say, no game has don'e this to me since Tetris Attack back on teh SNES (which this is very much like)
DS needed a Killer App and I beleive this game and Kirby canvas Curse both share that title so far
-
green gobling... never say killer app again. its very annoying.
-
Meteos and Kirby aren't out here yet :/
But on the upside, Metroid comes out on friday and I already have it preordered. :)
-
Meteos = fuck yeah. Made by Ban Dai though, which is kind of weird. I just read that Ban Dai is looking into buying another video game company (can't remember which.)
-
Ban Dai?
More like Q Entertainment
Which, incidently is the very same company that made Lumines.
-
And Bandai owns Q.
-
Even if Ban Dai owns Q, they didnt "make" the game, they only payed for development costs.
-
Hurr, symantical smantical. Yes I know the difference between devoloper and publisher. Paying for the development costs is not something I'd use "they only" with. There is no need for pedantry over the fact my caffine starved brain wasn't quite fully functional.
Regardless, man the whole menu lay out and how you unlock extras kind of reminds me of Super Smash Brothers (Melee or original). Also I tried playing it with out the stylus and that was no where as fun. So ups to Q for making another game for the DS where the stylus isn't just a second option.
-
It reminds you of Super Smash Bros. because, while Lumines's director was Tetsuya Mizuguchi of Rez fame, Meteos's director is Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Kirby and Smash Bros. who left Nintendo and HAL Labs. in 2003.
-
Neat! Thanks that also reminds me I still am trying to find a copy of Rez. Okay, screw that. So far all I keep finding is copies that cost over a hundred dollars.
