normally i like poppier music, but c&c is one band i can't hate. new song is pretty awesome. more metally. you know, if that's a word.

is there a thread already?

I HATE DIAL UP!
ha, yo thought i was gonna say coheed, huh? actually i like C&C quite abit
-
I fell in love at the intro.
-
i just listened to the song... the acoustic intro was cool... it sounds almost like the puff daddy remake of "come with me" (in the rockin guitar + strings parts) ...that guy's voice makes me want to kill people or myself. other than that and the p-diddy flashbacks, it isn't bad.

::puts down a level 3 fire ward totem::

The fact that music like this exists never fails to terrify me.
-
Unlike many other people here, I don't mind Claudio's voice and I really like Co&Ca, but ...
Synthesizer violins? This makes me want to cry. I hope the complete album isn't like that or I might puke blood in disappointment.
Edit: And a stereotypical metal solo as well. ...Why?
Darth Vader: Nooooooooooooo!

*joygasm*
there is no way THIS album gets put in the emo category (not that either of the other ones fit into either deffinition of emo)
the intro is crazy beautiful, reminds me of zeppelin a lot, pretty accoustic intro, distorted mean song, falcetto fuzz vox, intense solos.
this is pure seventies style progressive rock!
+ awesome nerdy scifi-ness.
i love the "this is no begining....this is the end"

On the singer:
STOP TRYING TO BE GEDDY LEE, DAMMIT.
That is all.

i find the rush comparissons a little bit of a stretch, falcetto is a singing tool that a lot of bands used, especially in hard rock in the seventies.
mostly, its because i dont like rush and i love coheed

Whoa.
Someone's been listening to Italian metal.
Fucking ace solo, not too bad actually. Didn't like what I shall call 'the emo-ey tinges' though.
Funny to think how the hipster-type crowd avoids this kind of stuff like the plague until someone they like starts doing it. No reason anyone who thinks this is good shouldn't be all over bands like Lacuna Coil, Rhapsody, Elvenking and Suidakra.
@Kid Amnesiac: You shit yourself at this? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Amen.

Lacuna Coil = win.

i like C& C, but i still think they excel so much more when playing the happier, lighter tunes. Blood Red Summer, Favor House Atlantic, Velorium Camper I etc. The metal on the other hand is much the same as a lot else i hear.
-
agreed on Blood Red Summer, but they still rock my socks with all their other stuff.
-
This is the song they previewed at thier mean fidler gig in London this year. I was there. It was fucking awesome

Bingo. I heard this song live at the Starland in Sayreville NJ at a tsunami relief show and it was my least favorite of the three new songs they played. Hopefully the rest of the record won't be quite this "we wish we were Metallica recording S & M".
-
This song is proof that Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV will kick some serious ass when it comes out...
Not sure if the forthcoming songs can beat Three Evils, Blood Red Summer, and Time Consumer for pure awesomeness, but they did play some kickass new stuff (including "The Final Cut") at Edgefest 2005, in Toronto, on July 1st.

I've never been a fan of Coheed, they've always struck me as mediocre. This song just sounds like Maiden and STYX had a threesome with Geddy Lee. Meh.
Speaking of, Claudio always had a high voice, but he really does sound *exactly* like Geddy Lee in some parts of this song.
Seriously, this song just wants to make me go listen to "Hollowed Be Thy Name". At least Maiden did it right.

sounds like geddy lee is doin vocals =p... but it's a goodthing [/marthasteward]
