Title: Little Nemo in Slumberland
Post by: Kid Modernist on 01 Aug 2005, 13:41
Hey, I got the NES game for this comic (Little Nemo etc., if you forgot the topic. :) ) and I really liked it and eventually found out it used to be a comic in the 1920's. I was wondering if anybody knew where an online database of these comics are. I've looked all over the place, and the books go for about 200 bucks I guess, according to Amazon.com.

not much is online as far as strip directories, which is a shame.  you can get the complete collected works hardback at the link below for $40, not super cheap, but way less than amazon is selling them for....and it's new.

this comic is absolutely beautiful. Back at my mom's house there is this big anthology of early newspaper comics (from the Yellow Kid up to Pogo), and those Little Nemo comics were some of the best. Full page stuff, intricate linework, surreal landscape. I wish I had a full book of it.

that is exactly the one. It's been falling apart for as long as I can remember, but I loved it when I was a kid.

Nah it's Winsor McKay (http://www.bpib.com/illustrat/mccay.htm)
Unless there was a later version created. Also, Winsor made Gertie the Dinosaur... *sniff* I loves that man

I believe Moebius did design work for an animated Nemo movie that came out a few years ago...I think that's right.
