Dope Stars Inc., straight out of Italy. They are some of the best cyberpunk I have EVER heard. You MUST listen, preferably to Rebel Riot. *drool* Cyberpunk, ahhh...
Erm, http://www.dopestarsinc.com/home.htm. Just check it out, you won't be sorry.
-
Cyberpunk's a musical genre now?
-
I was pretty sure that the musical equivalent to cyberpunk is industrial.
Cyberpunk is a literary movement within the sci-fi genre. Maybe you could extend it to various hacker movements. Maybe.
Technically, though, CP basically just claims that technology becomes ubiquitous and will eventually start to blur normal concepts of identity, such as gender, age, rage, self, and so forth. So really, the day trader who does all his transactions online is just as cyberpunk as the hacker with poor hygiene who breaks into government files.

Hmm, not bad actually. Though hardly original. I mean, they're not even the first band basing themselves a bit heavily off William Gibson novels. Zeromancer have been kicking around since, what, '98? And Cybergoth culture itselfs been kicking around since the 80's...probably the only such genre where music prefigured the literature. Cybergoth literature only really started popping up with Alastair Reynolds.
This seems a bit...unoriginal though. And it's a bit false as well. There's nothing particularly punk about them. It just sounds like industrial rock music to me.
If you like this, you should check out Hanzel Und Gretyl, Zeromancer, Carfax Abbey, Angelspit and The Count Nosferatu Kommando.*
Still, not that bad. Kinda disliking the attitude though. I feel bad listening to a band that uses the word 'Muthafuckas'.
*And also real industrial and ebm music.
-
Count Nosferatu Kommando is ace.
-
I don't know why you wouldn't just go with Frontline Assembly if you wanted songs about technology and shit.
-
Because there's very little chance she'd like it.
And fuck, but isn't CNK just awesome? You really need to get the album, with all the band photos armed to the teeth posing on a motorbike, and the liner notes.
Now, sing with me children.
"Chaos! Chaos! Chaos! Chaos!
Chaos! Chaos! Chaos! Chaos!
Chaos! Chaos! Chaos! Chaos!
Chaos! Chaos! Chaos! Chaos!"

DSI is from Italy though, that makes them 50 times more hardcore than anything Germany can hurl at us.
The term they use to describe themselves is vyperpunk, really.
-
When has the origin of a band made a certain band that much cooler? I mean, seriously? The music itself is pretty bland. And what the hell? Vyperpunk?
-
yeah, the origin does no make the band 'cooler'.
however,
lyrically different languages are sometimes able to convey different emotions, which people from a certain country can more easily relate to.
-
If we want to talk industrial, and we want to talk Italy, and we want to talk hardfuckingcore, we say 'Aborym'.
Their 'Black Industrial Kaosmusik' is what Satan would listen to, if he was a raver.
-
Regardless, the best industrial scene is still Germany.
-
Oddly though, I can't think of any industrial black metal bands from Germany.
Damn, but Industrial black metal is seethingly awesome stuff. I need more.
-
Listened to the three examples... nah, I prefer Rammstein (sounds a bit like them, no?). Rather uninterresting, especially the hightempo one, uhm, plug n die. Just dunk dunk dunk with a typical syntth-melodi-in-minor on top of it. Dont really like the singer either. No dice.

Ive always imagined that Satan listens to Jazz, you know the kind where the dummer just , uhm, "swipes" the drums with those wierdlooking drumsticks that ends with a brush of metal, the tempo is low, and the whole feeling is mystic and sneaky.
-
Ah, but when he raves, it is to Aborym.
He doesn't do it often though, because the last time Hitler ate all his designer drugs, Lucrezia Borgia threw up in the Lethe and Beelzebub still hasn't taken that stupid UV paint of his face.

Your statement is simply incorrect. (http://www.perkororecords.com/mp3/moerser%20-%20armageddon%20rise.mp3) And I mean it. (http://www.silentstagnationrecords.com/media.php?mode=mp3&dl=2)

Those both sound a little like Cradle of Filth, only more...weird...and only the second one sounds remotely like the kind of stuff I like. The one by Moeser (?) was just "GRRRRRRRR!!!" over and over again. Pretty uninteresting...
And I will always like DSI more because I heard them first. It's for the same reason I like all my other bands, because I heard them and went "Coolies!"
And I am aware that saying "coolies" is horribly unhip but I don't care.
-
urm.
How can you say deathgrind(?) sounds like Cradle of Filth? No, really. Different vocals, rhythms, playing styles, instruments, everything. And I'm going to presume you were talking about Nymphetamine, Damnation and a Day etc. era cradle, rather than, say, Total Fucking Darkness or A Pungent and Sexual Miasma, which just makes it very much more eh!?
Dismissing either band because they have growls (a bit) like cradle of filth is like dismissing Led Zeppelin and the Pixies because they have guitars, just like Jimi Hendrix.
I mean, seriously.
-
Psh, fine then, Slayer. Point is, it has very much the same style, only...less interesting.
I listened to a good portion of the one by Moeser, it was just "Grrr!" over and over again..."Grrrrr, grrrrrr, grrrrrrr, grrrrrr" get really old really fast.
And there is no way I could dismiss Hendrix or Zeppelin. They rock more than anything will ever rock.

Actually, it's Mörser (which means mortar). And I just linked them because those two bands are a lot closer to hardcore than the band you linked.
I would link to other hardcore, which is not just GRRR (even according to you), but those band wouldn't be German.

Don't diss Slayer.

I wasn't, I was remarking on the style. I love Slayer.
