Title: Boy "owned" by gaming mother
Post by: Wolfenchild on 17 Aug 2005, 08:55
Quote
IN A REAL "LOL" moment a young boy who was up until half three in the morning playing World of Warcraft was busted by his mother. She's also an avid player of the game, proving to us that if anything you should not allow any significant others to get into videogames – forget about all the fun you can have with them and let this serve as a warning to us all.

The young boy was playing the game and made a forum posting at around 3.30am, to which his mother responded: "Pardon me for hijacking the thread, here..  But, Brion - if you don’t want your mother to know you were up and on the computer at 3:29 in the morning - DON’T post on a forum that she reads. Busted. Grounded."

Oops! Hahaha.

Mum 1 Son 0 :)

That's the server I play on too.  And the best part is that last night I was defending against some Alliance, one of which happened to be Brion, the dude who got mom-pwned.  There were a bunch of shamans there dropping Grounding Totems.  Talk about insult to injury. =D

Man.  That poor kid.  He'd have to get a new account and everything.  He is scarred for life.  Emasculated, in fact.  I don't think that's funny, I think it's pretty horrible.

Kid's gonna have some mad trust issues with mom and the world in general, methinks.  All he wanted to do was raid!

Well, let's see... if he hadn't been playing WOW when he knew he shouldn't have been doing so, there wouldn't be any opportunity for his mom to bust him in the first place.

And if he isn't resilient to get over something like this, he needs help anyway.

Resilience generally comes with age.  11-13 year old boys aren't known for that.  Just a difference in opinions on how to raise kids, I guess.

I don't think Nihilist was being entirely serious with his post. I think the kid will turn out just fine and theres nothing wrong with WOW at 3am, it's better than having your mum bust you for looking at porn....by catching you posting on a porn board that she posts on.

Not entirely serious, no.  But could you imagine if that happened in front of a bunch of RL friends?  Hot shit, he'd have to move to another city.  Daaaaamn.

Mmm, porn.

Yeah, he'd forever have his friends hitting on his mom after that.

What do you mean by "that?"  Do you mean like being at a roleplaying convention when he's not supposed to be, and then his mom, who is already there in costume, busts him?

Because in that case, moving to another city wouldn't be enough.  Hell, moving to another country might not be enough.  Word would get around.

ADDITION: Oo, but you know what would be even worse?  If your mom, the dominatrix, showed up to chat with your friends, including the girl you have a crush on!  And the worst part of the encounter would be when your mom refers to you with a childhood nickname.

OH SNAP!!!!

Just out of curiousity....why is someone with a kid to look after up at 3 am in the morning playing WoW herself?

"Mommy and Daddy can't make you breakfast, they were up too late questing after the Holy Dagger of Gerflurgen in the Catacombs of Goob"

Hey, now... don't be giving MasterCard any new advertising ideas.

Especially not since Visa rocks even more hardcore.  No other company has ever covered Trump in dirt for a commercial that I know of.

But seriously, part of me is wondering who introduced who to that game.  The article doesn't say who was guilty of that...

No need to quote the post right above your own while responding good sir, jolly good.

See I really think it's some sad and lonely person who has crafted a "mother" personality.

It never hurts to quote the previous post though, and can be quite useful when someone posts something between the time you start to respond and when you submit your post.

No. The quoting of the person above you is frowned upon by this forum. You should not do it ever.

It tears me to pieces inside every time.  Also you can hit preview instead and see if anything else has been posted in the topic review section under the post reply stuff.

I'd be stoked if my mom played more video games but all she plays is Tetris.  She finds the controllers intimidating.
