Your best bet in getting it is downloading a torrent, and not waiting for it to show up on Soulseek, Jeph.
http://www.filemp3.com has it. I'm sure you all know your way around torrent files.
-
Torrentspy has one too. I also do not advocate the downloading of files, OF COURSE WHY WOULD ANYONE DO SUCH A THING, REALLY. IF YOU PLAN ON BEING HORRIBLY, HORRIBLY ILLEGAL WHY DON'T YOU JUST http://www.torrentspy.com/search.asp?mode=torrentdetails&id=389589&query=Broken+Social+Scene+ OK THERE I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY.
Or if you hate torrents, I could YouSendIt to ya, if you're being picky. Only for special people, though. Who love cookies. Mmm cookies.
It's missing a track, and could possibly be only semi-mastered - already people are complaining about Jason Collett's guitar solo during Shorelines and god knows what else. Predictions of doom abound, and complaints arise, but hey, it's an indie album. It's bound to be completely gutted.
As for my opinion - I think they should have stuck with the original title - Windsurfing Nation - and stuck the title track as the first track. Honestly, if you hear it your heart could possibly explode. The rest of the album - I'm not partial to vocal effects, but if you really hated BSS's lyrics, well then this is your album. They're about as decipherable as on Shampoo Suicide or 90% of the tracks on Feel Good Lost. So hey, we win all around.
Basically, you have to hear it. And Windsurfing Nation & Swimmers twice. Or 230948032983 times. You know. Jeph if you're...so...tired...of waiiiiiting...(you're...so tired....) then e-mail me. http://mailto:[email protected]. I'll call some people who know some people.

THe torrent doesn't work!!!
Please god help me. Need BBS
-
I have it on Soulseek. Anyone who wants it, message me and I'll friend you so you can get it.
Username is Bobsledboy.
Edit: Quality is quite good, I haven't noticed anything glaring, and I'm on the second listen through =)
-
I had not listened to any other album asides from this one for the past what? Four days?
I am le hooked.
Is that Karen O and K-OS in Windsurfing Nation?
-
I know it's K-OS, I hadn't heard of Karen O. Whatever it is, it's so the best track on the album. Punx.
-
i've listened to it about seven times now and i still can't form coherent words to describe it.
it's beautiful, and i think a little more structured than their previous offerings, which i enjoy.
if anyone wants it, let me know. (but promise to buy it, too, ya know?)
-
I promise to buy it and I want it! I don't break promises, Saturnine :)
-
Nice signature, Skibas.
(Oh, and to not be off-topic, I <3 Broken Social Scene.)
-
The best track is 'Fire Eye'd Boy'. I'd also like to thank ASturge for my copy.
-
From the songs i've heard so far i think that shorline is the best.
Also i would like to thank cpt.Fantastic for my copy...
-
Bob Mcbob sent it too me, so.... I guess I'd like to thank him for my copy. =/
-
I offer my lending services. Feel free to add me to your msn.
Oh yeah, I bloody love 7/4 Shoreline, Fire Eye'd Boy Windsurfing Nation, and Superconnected
-
I love Broken Social Scene, but this album is no where near the greatness of People. Not even close. "7/4 Shorline" was so misleading. Outside of a couple of great tracks, the rest of the album is a disappointment. It's not bad in any sense, I just wanted it to be a lot more than what it actually is.
-
I'll just wait to buy it. Yeah, I'm a chump.
-
The album sounds like "Pacific Theme" but stretched out for an hour, which is a shame because the reason why I liked You Forget It In People was because the songs where so different.
Not that I don't like it, but more variaty in the album would have helped it.

Agreed - they all kind of mush together a bit. Which ain't good; although the few songs that stand out slightly (7/4 / Shorelines, although I'm not partial to the vochals; Fire Eye'd Boy; Swimmers; Windsurfing Nation) are excellent. If BSS were really smart they'd be monitoring the situation and taking suggestions. DO IT.
-
After a few more listens, it really seems like a step back for them.
Listen to "Feel Good Lost". It's hard to tell the differences between the songs.
In "You Forget it in People", you can tell the songs apart without even trying (except "Bedroom Rock" and "Shampoo Suicide" which blend together a bit).
The songs from this one all blend together, but not as much as in "Feel Good Lost".
So, a step back, but it's still great.
-
I like this one more then You Forgot it in People.
I don't know.....seems a little more structured to me.
-

Oh no, Clara! Now I feel like such a tool. I had no idea that anyone else had that. But you know......I am now YOUR fag.

Well, at least we fit in perfectly with this thread.
