After their horrible new album that i didn't even bother buying...
Does anyone still go back and listen to Ash's five or so decent albums?
-
That's some nasty grammer....
I still listen to one of their albums every so often. It's the only one I've got.
EDIT: The funny thing is, I had to tell him he'd mixed up "Their" and "They're"
-
Which one? My favourate is "Free all angels".
-
Er
It has animated thingys on the front.....
And that song that goes "You, are a Shining Light!!!"
-
That should be "Intergelactic sonic 7's" its a best of album.

When you're usually the one guilty of that!
I like Ash very much, 'Burn Baby Burn' is one hella cool song.

1977 is a bit of a classic in its genre. Nu-Clear sounds had the occasional decent tune on it aswell but i wasn't keen on shining light/candy as singles from free all angels. Burn Baby Burn was catchy enough but my favourite recent song is 'clones', one of the singles off the latest album. Highly listenable pop-metal/rock. Although the single 'orpheus' was alright, it has the same main riff as 'powertrip' by monster magnet which bugged me for some weird reason. I doubt ash ripped them off or anything, irish pop punkers copying nineties stoner/cock rock is pretty unlikely. 1977 though is the best album by far, girl from mars/goldfinger/kung fu are brilliant little songs from back in the nineties :)
If you like the sound also check out the early feeder album 'polythene'my perfect day and high are worth a download.

I love girl from mars it's their best song to date!
And i haven't looked into their new album it seemed a bit like they are trying to be something they are not....(a bad band)
-
EDIT: sorry (double post) my computer went a bit weird...
-
wow people outside of ireland like ash...well you learn something new.
Their old stuff was fantastic and they played support to U2 in Dublin last month...i heard they were pretty excellent.
-
I was way into 1977 when I was younger. I gave up on them after that but I will admit that they can write the occasional good pop song. I liked 'Envy' most recently (which was a couple of years ago now, I think).

Everybody likes me!!
but as for the band.. they have gone down hill abit...
but i still like their older stuff (but i feel a bit odd wearing a t-shirt with my name on it....)

Ash were one of the first bands I ever seen. So they hold a special place in my heart. Plus they have the Hatherley the Hatherley
