An FCC investigation?
Anyone know what this actually means?
-
I'm gonna guess they're being sued or something. then again I don't know what the FCC is. I COULD find out, but really, i like guessing better
-
Yeah... I'd probably just go with a generic 'raped by the Feds' kinda thing here.
I think the FCC is something to do with regulating what can and can't be said / broadcast on public channels or something. I know they're an American thing.
-
That sucks, I always read that in the moaning.
On the plus side, its the first time I acctually recognize and really like every band/composer in the news column.
-
DArgh
I also read TMT every morning.
-
TMT better come back. Their news stories were the funniest things on any music-related site. The Sigur Ros news article had me fucking laughing. I will fucking murder whoever brings down TMT.
-
The FCC is the Federal Communications Commission, an extra-gfovernmental organization responsible for regulating communications through the mediums of broadcast (television and radio), wire, cable/sattelite, and internet.
Sheesh, kids. Know your government.

I'm shocked that you people don't even have an idea of what they are. I mean, seriously, "know thine enemy" and all that.
-
pssst... it's not their government, not everybody lives in the US.
As for the investigation, it could be anything. The FCC doesn't have control over the internet, so maybe one of them has a radio show or something.
-
I live in England.
Your American ....thingys mean nothing to me. All I know is that my mornings will be empty without the latest indie....'goss'
-
Well the FCC won't let me be or let me be me so let me see, they tried to shut me down on MTV, BUT IT FEELS SO EMPTY WITHOUT ME
-
They might just be being sarcastic. TMT has gone without updates before with only a brief update of that sort for a reason.
-
pssst... it's not their government, not everybody lives in the US.
Foolish mortal! The US is the only country in the world! DUH.
-
I wouldnt be too worried.. No government agency has the slightest control over the internet. The worst that can happen is they will have to move their hosting out of the US, and lets face it.. thats a trivial task. Its probably going to bring their hosting costs up though, with the dollar being so weak.
If they have any sense, they will do that long before they have to resort to wasting money on lawyers.
