Interesting list, they do have a lot of good artists, but i mean, Backstreet Boys in the top 20, GEEZ!

very biased towards to 40 stuff init
-
I… I… just can't express how shit this list is.
-
Step 1: put iTunes on shuffle
Step 2: ...
Step 3: profit!

I… I… just can't express how shit this list is.
I can: Oukast and Guns 'n' Roses are placed higher than Joy Division.
Not that I read the whole thing, mind. I've got better things to do with my time than reads 500-item long lists compiled by people with little to no musical taste.
-
I managed to only make it far enough to see that In Da Club made it to #10
And then I had to close the window immediately and look away for fear that reading any further would make my head A SPLODE.

Bonus points for the Strong Bad reference.
-
Christ is that list bad.
-
I could maybe agree with a few songs that were on there... but nothing in the placement... I mean christ... Billie Jean as number one? Uh... If we're stuck having MJ as #1 it should at least be Thriller....
-
According to this list, Belle and Sebastian's "Judy and the Dream of Horses" is worse than Len's "You Steal My Sunshine."
And the Flaming Lips' "Do You Realise??" can't top "Bawidaba or however this ridiculous song is spelt."
And Magnetic Fields haven't done anything quite as good as George Michael's "Careless Whisper."
Finally, Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is better than all of them.
-
might want to lynch this guy, just not interested in stealing his ipod.

Hello list. You are not a good list. I am sorry.

Oh God. I might actually commit suicide.
-
I thought I saw Brittney Spears at number 9, but I closed my browser right away.

Hello list. You are not a good list. I am sorry.
I was thinking the same thing, but with Dead Kennedys.

Oh wait...Dead Kennedys ARE on there. AT THE VERY BOTTOM. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND RAISES TWO QUESTIONS:
WHY DID THEY PICK "TOO DRUNK TO FUCK" WHEN THEY OBVIOUSLY SHOULD HAVE PICKED "HOLIDAY IN CAMBODIA"????
AND
HOW THE FUCK DO THEY JUSTIFY PLACING AVRIL LAVIGNE HIGHER THAN EVERY DEAD KENNEDYS SONG EVER WRITTEN??????
That is all.
No, wait, that is not all. WHERE ARE THE MISFITS?
-
Wait a minute!
Coldplay has not one, but TWO songs on this list.. and sp2 has said nothing?!
IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE
-
Screw lies, that list makes baby Jesus cry.
But then again, it's to be expected.

I had both, plus The Dismemberment Plan.

Coldplay are shit, but a lot of that other stuff is on par with them. I'm more upset about the lack of GOOD music rather than the presence of bad music.
For example, I didn't see any Jawbreaker. This is distressing.
-
Ahh, gotcha. I was starting to think along the lines of "WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WTH SP2" and such.
And..
I thought I saw Brittney Spears at number 9, but I closed my browser right away.
I'd like to tell you you saw wrong, but.. I can't.
IT'S TRUE
-
Its just a random list of pop music. I spotted the arcade fire in there somewhere though.
I think about 10% of that list even qualifies as listenable. The rest is tripe. I think theres about 3 songs on there that would have a chance of making my top 500, if i were ever bored enough to attempt such a list.
-
245. "I'm Not OK (I Promise)" - My Chemical Romance
!?!??!?
-
Ahh, gotcha. I was starting to think along the lines of "WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WTH SP2" and such.
I am sp2's sexy evil twin brother. I have distracted sp2 with promise of hookers and rioting against the establishment and am now using his interweb handle to disparage his good name. That, and seduce all the pretty womens on the forums.

There are a few good points, The Cure at 19, Johnny Cash at 43, NWA at 46, Grand Master Flash at 44.
But seriously, no Billy Idol, no Dead Kennedys, no Misfits, no AFI, no Sisters of Mercy, hell, there isn't even Elvis!
How can you make a top 500 songs of all time without Elvis?
-
There are a few good points, ... Johnny Cash at 43
This is wrong. Johnny Cash should be way higher. The fact that he is so low on the list just further damns the listmakers.
-

Coz elvis died before 1980, and this is a list of post 1980 songs?

My mistake.

Yeah for sure but atleast he's on there.
-
And there are no good Elvis songs!
-
Why I oughta....
-
name one?
-
#2. B.O.B - Outkast
That's not even Outkast's best song!
-
And there are no good Elvis songs!
In the Ghetto is the greatest song ever recorded. Fuck you.
All joking aside, Elvis was pretty cool. I guess I'm one of the few people who is both a Beatles person and an Elvis person, though not equally. :P
-
I find this to be the best part of this list:
206. "This Love" - Moron 5.
-

Wasn't Johnny Cash's 80s material mostly dire Americana clap-trap?
-
Wasn't Johnny Cash's 80s material mostly dire Americana clap-trap?
What, you mean he's not allowed to make songs between 1990 and when he died?

Ah, I'd forgotten the American series - now that's good stuff.
I'm assuming that because it's a cover Hurt can't get on there.
-
Either that or it's just a crappy list.
-
the year/number of songs number are really arbitrary. It seems like a joke list.
-
I mean, come on guys, this is BLENDER. BLENDER.
-
I actually like Blender, aside from their occasional misfires. And most of this list is okay, if ranked bizarrely. But...Def Leppard? Foreigner? Biz Markie? (At number 27?!) No. Not good. But ultimately, there's no way a list this huge could satisfy everyone. So...meh.
Billie Jean as number one? Uh...
"Billie Jean" is a masterpiece. If you disagree, you're wrong. Or deaf.
-
"Billie Jean" is pretty much the best single since 1980, hands down, and it's a hell of a contender for the best song.
-
I have a problem with the fact that they are trying to walk the line between being a magazine about music AND sexy girls. In any given issue, you may get a good article or review, but you will also get an interview with Lindsay Lohan because they needed somebody who was willing to pose in a skirt and roller skates and Kathleen Hanna couldn't keep her balance.

Kompressor Does Not Dance.
I think I've won this argument.
-
I thought I was unaffected, but I'm crying now.

And my soul.
-
Born Slippy beat "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by only four slots? Riiiiiight.
My Child Is Honor Student at Kompressor Middle School.
-
Okay... they had two Weezer songs, but one was the still fresh and not so popular "We Are All on Drugs" ...
And as much as I like older U2 (which I do, just not the newer stuff), why was "One" ranked so high?
Silly people who make dumb lists.
They shall be smited by music gods one day.
