I have a minor disaster on my hands here peeps.

I downloaded *cough* The FreeWheelin' Bob Dylan off Bitlord and put the songs on my mp3 player. I now want to take them off and maybe put on some Sonic Youth or something.

ANYWAYS, then problem is, whenever I try and delete the Bob Dylan songs I get a thingy telling me that I can't because the song is protected by some assbrain copyright thing.

Now, Bob Dylan's great, but i just dont want him on the player anymore!

Is there a way I can get rid of him!?

It's not an iPod or anything, you just plug in the USB and go onto my computer>Folder of Songs, then drag and drop them in.

Please help meee!

Is there any way to reset the MP3 player entirely? I know that is kind of scary-drastic but if you already have the playlist and everything saved on your computer it's not so bad.

Since the device seems to be identified as a removable mass storage, I suppose there are two ways:
Either you format it just like you can format every other harddrive, that should work.
In case Windows is still a bitch, get Knoppix (http://www.knoppix.org), mount it, delete the file, since I assume the copyright protection is done via the OS and I doubt Linux supports it. This is a lot more work though (you have to download it and burn a CD which you will have to boot from later on - no installation required of course) so I hope the format does the trick.

Is it definately some DRM shit stopping you deleting them? MP3's don't really do DRM, hence iTunes store using AAC and stuff. I'm not even sure if DRM MP3's exist (This may be me being retarded), but if they do, you are unlikely to be getting them off bittorrent. On top of that, DRM certainly shouldn't stop you deleting them, just playing them. It sounds more like a permissions problem, but if you're on Windows I know nothing.
What does the error message say, exactly?
