A not broken picture of Thom Yorke.

And Geoff Rickly, in the front of this picture. He looks a bit sickly, but he always does. ^^
EDIT: Grrr. The picture of thom does not want to show up as a picture.

Since when did Wright sing anything?
Since 1967? He sang harmonies on Astronomy Domine and lead vocals on about a dozen songs before Meddle. He has lead vocal on the bridge of Time as well...
He does harmonies all the time. On their last album he sung the song Wearing The Inside Out, and did bits of Hey You and Run Like Hell on their last tour.

Jonsi Birgisson of Sigur Ros
Shame on all of us for forgetting him!
-
To be honest, Hendrix didn't have the best singing voice ever. It worked with the stuff he played, but it wouldn't work with stuff like, oh, say, Les Misérables.
Speaking of which, Gary Morris, a country singer who also starred as Valjean in Les Mis, is a total hero.
-
What the hell is this thread doing without...
.jpg")
JIM MORRISON
-
*pssst!* He's already been mentioned!
-
Oh, oops. Shite. My bad.
But he was still a total savage, god rest him.

Hell yes for Carl Newman, Tex Perkins, Nick Cave, E and that dude from Sigur Ros.

Craig Owens - Chiodos. A bit emo sometimes, but he has a nice voice.
Tom Gabel - Against Me! Nothing too flashy, just good old punk vocals.
And an honourable mention to Anal Cunt's Seth Putnam, who I can't be bothered to find a picture of. I don't particularly want to Google Image 'Anal Cunt', funnily enough.
-
I can't believe I mentioned Sam Cooke and Levi Stubbs, but forgot about Wilson Pickett:

For the love of god, if you want to know what soul singing's all about then listen to "Danger Zone".
Also, I didn't mention him before 'cause I thought it was kind of obvious, but now I realise that's a silly reason. Mr. Otis Redding:

"Danger Zone"? Er, you mean that song in "Top Gun"?
Dear god NO!!! Now you've made me cry. Are you happy?!
-
Oo, yay, did I just make somebody vomit up their pizza and beer? I've been wanting to do that all my life. ^__^

I have a voice-crush on Calvin Johnson.

...he has the same piece of crap guitar that my sister got when she was 7. The intonation on that steaming turd of an instrument is terrible.

You can love or hate the politics of Bad Religion. However one aspect of the bands legend is undeniably superb, the smooth lyrical stylings of lead man Greg Graffin. With a strong and passionate voice packed with harmony and melody listening to any Bad Religion is a delight to the senses. So turn on, tune in, and drop out and you may find his voice is so great that there may in fact be a god.

What, as in 'A Spanish Guitar' or a specific make? Because if you're talking about all Spanish guitars, I'm going to have to beat you to death with an elephant-penis whip.

Poop! How could I forget...
Glenn Danzig (The Misfits, Samhain, Danzig)[/img]
A-fucking-GREE'D!

Michael Stipe for the win. Losing My Religion is the greatest song ever.

And this is a really rubbbish photo of him playing the City Ground, Nottingham, England. I post it only because I was there. Wheeeeee REM are awsome live.

What an ugly bugger he is with that painted face. Damn. Good voice though, yeah.
Has Dave Grohl been mentioned before? I love Dave Grohl :D
-

Maynard James Keenan (Tool & A Perfect Circle)
I agree.
-
Wayne Coyne's voice may not be my favorite, but it is pretty unique, and should be adored and enshrined as a cultural institution.
But if we're talking favorite male vocalists overall, then I've got to say Juan Diego Florez
(http://www.linfairrecords.com/images/florez.jpg)
and Bryn Terfel

Mark Knopfler's gruff yet soulful voice makes me melt. I'm a guy, so that must be saying something!
-
Who's the breathy guy from Massive Attack? I always thought his voice was kinda sexy.
-
Can't find a good picture, but Mark Paffi, the singer/screamer of Bear Vs. Shark is one of my favorite vocalists. He's one of the only screamers I can stand, and he has an alright singing voice. I don't ever have to mention the awesome vocal rythm technique.

Cab Calloway

Mm-hmm... You know you loved Minnie the Moocher. Don't deny it.

My favorite vocalist has to be Warrel Dane from Nevermore. His work on their new album is absolutely awesome.
Here's Warrel

Aaron Stainthorpe (My Dying Bride)

Amos Lee has a cool hat. I don't, however, know what he sounds like. To google! (Because of the hat mostly).
[edit]Dude, that man can sing. Thanks for dropping the name, I reckon I'll look him up further.
-
Yeah, i saw him in this little shitty place in philly a few years ago and recently he's had an explosion of popularity
and hats apparently

That is one of the most iconic photos in music history. Right on.
Also, it's a bit of a mindfuck to go from Captain Beefheart to Paul McCartney.

And an honourable mention to Anal Cunt's Seth Putnam, who I can't be bothered to find a picture of. I don't particularly want to Google Image 'Anal Cunt', funnily enough.
The mighty Seth in Japan, with a beer and a Damien Storm* shirt.

*I was convinced you couldn't get more cool. I'm sorry Seth. *worships*

A specific make. I love _decent_ spanish guitars. Hell, the object of my musical worship, Jimmy Page, taught himself how to play guitar on an old Spanish.
-
Mark Knopfler's gruff yet soulful voice makes me melt. I'm a guy, so that must be saying something!
Hell, man, Knopfler's guitar skills are beyond comparison, and he can sing at the same time. THAT IS BADASS.

A shot of Mark.
And of course, the biggest guitar and vocals badass who ever badassed,

God, a.k.a. Eric Clapton.

I love my Robert Johnson. His voice was so original for delta blues--everyone else was deep and meaty. His was more high-pitched, and soooo nice.
As for Donny and Macca. . .what can you do? The Captain had an intense vocal range ("I'm Gonna Booglarize You Baby" is AMAZING) but Paul McCartney was just plain smooth.
-
Robert Johnson was a fucking GOD.
-
no one mentioned these guys yet?

Ian Curtis

Paul Banks
perhaps i am a post-punk loser but these two give me chills.
