I'm planing on purchasing one of their Albums or EP's...Any suggestions?

Either the creek drank the cradle or our endless numbered days. The prior is more lo-fi and less overproduced. The latter is more professional. Both are good, depends on your preference. Woman King and Sea & The Rhythm are a little less accesible (it's better if you listen to other stuff first).

The only one I have is Woman King, and I would reccomend it very highly. I've listened to it god knows how many times.

I bought Woman King too, because it was like 7 dollars. I can never motivate myself to listen to it though. It seems like such a waste to get up and put on a CD that's only like 20 minutes long. But when I do listen to it I love it! :)

I would reccomend you get Our Endless Numbered Days. It makes me want to go to sleep (in a good way).

Definitely The Creek Drank the Cradle.  "Lo-Fi" is a relative term in this case: it's not like we're talking about early Mountain Goats here, the sound of the album just has a really nice warmth to it.  All the instrument parts are clearly discernable, and in my opinion the songs are much stronger than those on Our Endless Numbered Days.

I haven't yet heard Woman King.

I have to say that I aggree with all those who have pointed towards The Creek Drank the Cradle. It's definitely the kind of album that I'm really glad to own on vinyl.

our endless numbered days is beautiful, but i have never heard the other albums in full. numbered days has "naked as we came" on it, which is one of the most beautiful songs in existence.

The Creek Drank the Cradle is probably the best value and the coolest album all the way through, but Endless Numbered Days is smoother and easier to listen to as well as having some of my fav. songs (Naked as We Came, Sunset Soon Forgotten).  The Sea & the Rythym is a lot like TCDTC, the same for Passing Afternoon to Endless Numbered Days.  Woman King is kinda jarring, but rocks out in a way that none of his precious releases does.  The EP with Calexico is also really good, kinda jammy with a little bit of country/western influences and good songs.  Of course this leaves out my favorite Iron & Wine song, "The Trapeze Swinger" which is only available via the In Good Company Soundrack.  So, to conclude I would probably start at the beginning with TCDTC and move your way forward.

P.S.  If you can catch him live, he is absolutely AMAZING, I've seen him twice and both times were AWESOME.

Nothing beats listening to Women King on vinyl. Just buy their entire back catologue,you probably won't regret it.

I'd say it probably doesn't matter which you buy first, since chances are you'll like both and end up buying everything they've put out.

Depends, really.  I bought Our Endless Numbered Days precisely because I loved The Creek Drank the Cradle so much - and I was a little disappointed.  If I'd bought Days first I might be wondering quite what the fuss is all about, and I may well still not own Creek.

I have Days and I think it is an amazing album.  Catchy tunes and amazing lyrics.

i started with endless numbered days, and never really saw what the fuss was about.  so i think i gave the record away.  but i love calexico and picked up that collab when it came out, and it's great.  "16, maybe less" is one of the most amazing songs i've heard in awhile.  
and now i understand the fuss.

If you're looking for the Iron & Wine "sound" I would veer away from the Calexico collaboration, it's much more a western album than a folk. However, "16, Maybe Less" is probably the most beautiful song I have ever heard. Ever.

I have Endless Numbered Days and I really love it. It's one of those albums that you can always listen to, no matter your mood. I also have Woman King, but I listened to that a while ago, so I don't really remember the sound, just that it was really good. Hell, it made my year list.
