personally i always find it interesting to see what other people are playing. so here are mine:
'Patience' - Fender American Stratocaster HSS
(http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-10/1088851/Patience.jpg)
maple fretboard, seymour duncan pearly gates humbucker at the bridge. of all the electric guitars i've ever played i find the strat by far the most comfortable. i used to play a les paul custom, but fell in love with this beauty and sold the other off.
'Brooke' - Norman ST68 CW
(http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-10/1088851/Brooke.jpg)
rosewood fretboard, solid spruce top and indian rosewood back. has a fishman prefix pro blend mic/pickup which is perfect for gigs where i wanna move around and can't keep it positioned in front of an extrenal mic.
show me what you've got

There's something I don't like about Strats. I dislike playing them and their look.
Oddly enough, I prefer the look and feel of a Squier Strat because they're thinner and have a ganglier headstock.
But I'm a Tele man really:
This is my Electro acoustic, a Fender. I have a crappy old Encore acoustic with a sharp, cheap, obnoxious sound, and this was the only electro I could find that replicates it:
Oddly enough I have much more love and attachment - and write better songs - to the Encore than I do to the Fender. Maybe I should just jam a pickup in it.
Here I am playing it with straightened hair (ergh, gay!):

Image is a bit dark, but it's an (ESP) LTD EC-50, black and beautiful. Too bad that I've had to cover half the back in duct tape since, due to belt buckle scars.

Can't find my bloody camera. In lieu, I own a Vintage Metal Axxe called 'Glamdring':
And a BM Concert Grande called 'Violenta':
They differ very little in reality from their interweb pictures. Apart from some vicious dents from the steel picks I love to use to play Violenta. Glamdring also has no whammy bar (well, he does, but there's something wrong with it. It's all floppy -_- )
-
I don't have a camera, but I have an ESP M50, and it's totally bitchin for a cheap price.
I also have a Dan Electro something or other guitar that I originally had before this one. It's a good guitar, it's just not the kind of guitar I needed.
-
That guitar looks pretty sweet Kai, how much was it.
-
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v129/jesusvsthepolice/ukelele_lg.jpg)
My axe. Revel in its glory.
:) (This thread needed some comic relief)
-
(http://usuarios.lycos.es/reyesdaniel/hpbimg/mh300.jpg)
That's almost exactly the same as mine but I have 2 active emg's instead of HZ's.
I also have the same bass as the bassist from Duran Duran.
-
Guitars? What are those?
The reddish spots on my bed are picks. The gadget on the edge is my digital 4-track. Next to my bass is an open box of Honey Nut Cheerios. In front of my strat is a sock. The dark spot on the carpet is a dime. I like to keep things organized.
-
guitarguitarguitarblahblahguitar called 'Glamdring'
i love you for this.
-

It was super cheap, really. $250, and it plays really well, especially considering the price.
-
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/todesfuesch/git003.jpg)
my crappy acoustic guitar.
my cheap copy of a fender telecaster. i really like it....
....so i did this to make it look even better :)
-
I don't play, but if I did it would be whitey-cream coloured with two lines (their straightness and sharpness would depend on the shape of the guitar) running from about halfway down the long side to halfway down the short side. One pastelly blue and one pastelly yellow. I got the idea from a picture of the dude from Sigur Ros with the shadow from the stand that was in front of him casting two different coloured shadows on the guitar.
-
Question: has anybody actually tried that trick with a cello bow on their own guitar?
Oh, and if I played I would probably want two different guitars: one for fat feedback and another for clear tones.
-
I have. The strings need to be TIGHT.

Black Beauty (Eppy Les Paul)
Steelstring Ibanez Acoustelectric
(http://img324.imageshack.us/img324/6578/photo74nz.jpg)
Shitty 'ol Squier all Stickered (had to start somewhere....)
Ma Mere's Ancient Nylon String (sounds hell of good since I restrung it about a month ago)
[Edit] They're all regular, my camera is just..... really really strange.
-
My crappy little Yamaha Eterna. Does my just fine though.
-
My wee Norman
(http://www.audio-electric-shop.de/shop/catalog/images/LTD-B50.jpg)
Norman Bass.. get it?
-
This is my left handed Seagull S6 which I am still learning how to play. I bought it new for $379 about 6 months ago and I've been very happy with it. It could use a bit more bass but it sounds better then many of the accoustics costing twice the price.

Sam's bass fucked all your mothers and and sisters while you were sleeping last night. Good job not being there for them when they needed it the most.
In other words, congradulations sam.
-
Question: has anybody actually tried that trick with a cello bow on their own guitar?
Yes, but with a violin bow, and Jimmy Page-style instead of Jonsi Birgisson-style. All you need to really do is set your action a bit higher. This is the guitar I did it on:

Her name is Gertrude. She is an Arbor AP230. I painted the "Zoso" on the pickguard by hand.
My friend Wes, who is the bassist in the band I'm in, is getting a Hofner violin-style bass within the week. McCartneyXcore.

I found a Strat (American, woo!) at a garage sale for 70; I don't even really like strats, but shit, 70 dollars for anything is great.
-
Rosewood or maple fingerboard?
Can't stand maple fingerboards, myself.
-
Really? I adore the sight of a black Strat with a maple fingerboard. Then again, maybe it's my Clapton-worshipping that does it.
-
just bought myself this baby, fender aerodyne jazz bass. it plays like a dream compared to my yamaha.

I have an old-school (read: discontinued model) Spector that looks something similar to this:
I will get some pictures of the actual bass up when I can. Cheat Commandos, rock rock on!
-
Fucking nice! Spector basses are great.

Maple. I like it, but I'm crazy.
That is a fancy bass.

pretty nice, i like spector basses just don't own one. the inlays on that look awesome and quilted maple make that thing a real beauty.

I've got a cheap-ass Johnson acoustic. It's my first guitar. I'm still learning, and for 50 bucks, I couldn't go wrong.
I'll post a pic if you guys feel like seeing your average, black acoustic.
-
sorry bout that, corrected. i've played only one lakland but i've had the pleasure of playing 2 rickenbacker basses and they are dreamy, the owners had to pry them out of my hands.
though i have to say i played some vintage fender p-basses that were owned by a studio and they played much better than i had ever imagined. though they were put through some pretty nice equipment so it may have jsut been their amps and gear.
-
1963 precision bass, tobacco sunburst. i was able to play for a few hours in between other bands' recording sessions.
that isn't the one i played but pretty damn close, more wear and tear on the one i was playing
-
I'm too lazy to crop it but this was from a few days ago.

nice cat and girl sticker.

Thank you kind sir.

That is possibly the sexiest bass I've seen in forever. Makes me think of John Paul Jones.

Here's my Epiphone Les Paul. BUT! Before any snide comments are made, it's a high-end model. People who know guitars should be able to tell from the pics. ;)
A close up of the body with the Seymour Duncan JB I added in.

Side view of the guitar, with binding, mahogany, and maple cap.
Disturbingly, most of the guitars I see like mine have bolt-on necks, which kind of defeats the purpose of a Les Paul.
For the hell of it, here's the rest of my gear.

Bucky, I'm loving that LP. It looks very much like the Gibson Jimmy Page signature model, actually.
And Boss and Dunlop pedals > God.
-
now that i seen all of your tools, i guess i have to show mine, its hugly does'nt work well but its my baby :P i looked on the washburn web site and it seems i have'nt found my guitar there, well almost found it, mine looks like the x series, exept i don have the same fingerboard. :( , but besides that its preaty much the same (http://www.washburn.com/products/electrics/x/index.aspx)
-
I have that same Fender amp bucky.
-
I play a PRS Custom 24 ( http://www.prsguitars.com/showcase/current/custom.html). I'd post a real picture, but I don't have a camera. The only big difference between mine and the one in the link is that mine is a dark blue-green and has gold hardware.
My other is a 1973 Martin D-35. http://www.martinguitar.com/guitars/choosing/guitars.php?p=m&m=D-35
Picture a guitar looking like that one, only with a tortoise shell pick-guard and the maple looking like honey. That thing is my baby :)
Oh, and I also have a black and white Strat that's pretty standard except for that I got the pick-ups replaced with some better ones ( I think they're Kinmans. My folks did it while I was away at college one semester).
-
I play one of these:
(Epiphone Les Paul Studio Gothic)
And, because my amp is rubbish, I play through one of these:

L: lefty Fender DG-10 acoustic. nice guitar. action needs to be adjusted, though.
R: lefty DiPinto Galaxie IV. my God, do i love this guitar. there are no words for how amazing this guitar is. i would heartily recommend one to anybody.
also, i got one of these for Christmas:
mine is of the "mango" color (second from right)
-
the galaxie is a damn fine guitar. My father owns one, and my friend Nikos owns one, and i've had the pleasure to sample it.
Kicks the shit out of my rosewood fender strat.
my accoustic has santa cruz hippie written all over it though (not literally) i'd post pics but they're back at school.
-
What does the Galaxie sound similar to?
I'll be after another guitar when a new job I have.
-
Jeeeesus, RonBergundy, how many pickups does that motherfucker need?!
-
Well here are two picture of me doing my 'sex' pose (note plectrum in mouth) with my 2000 Gibson Les Paul Studio.
Also in my house I have a 1986 Takamine EF360SC and an Encore bass.

My da overheard me saying I'd like to learn to play guitar. On Christmas day,
he presented me with a shitty old black electric guitar with a little amp
speaker built-in (but it's broken and dented in), and the busted off battery
case cover digs into my leg when I try to play it. It's always out of tune
because the strings are crappy and the strap-peg-things are all busted so you
have to tie the strap onto it.
I named her Gabrielle (pronounced "Gay-breel", don't you fuck her name up)
and I love her better than any other geetar.
My da has a lovely guitar, but I don't know what it is. I'll have pictures of
Gabrielle, da's geetar, our amps, 12-foot-pedals-built-into-one and our
Super-Vox-Voice-Box Machine (it has a billion and one voices, and I've
never heard all of them).
My bestfriend has a sweet acousitc geetar that makes a real pretty sound.
-
Jeeeesus, RonBergundy, how many pickups does that motherfucker need?!
as many as they can cram into it.
songlessbird: hmm... i would say that it sounds most similar to a Jaguar or Jazzmaster, with a slightly creamier, Les Paul-ish texture to it. you can get some amazing clean and surf rock tones out of it, and it don't sound too shabby when you bring the gain up, either.

Here's the guitars, the mic and the drumkit. Ma's bass is out on loan to our 7 year old friend. He's good at playing everything already. The kid's got music in his soul. (P.S. LOVE THE POSTERS, ESP. THE CHRONO TRIGGER ONE {even though they messed up and made Marle use fire instead of ice [but you can't see that so oh well]})
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/new_model_no_15/P1010322.jpg This is Da's geetar. Identify it kthx (PS it's sideways.)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/new_model_no_15/P1010320.jpg This is a really dark picture of Gabrielle. It is also sideways.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/new_model_no_15/P1010327.jpg This is our drumkit.

Equipment
Squier Telecaster.
Pretty decent instrument. It like it to play something that is supposed to sound like something dirty and bluesy. Needs new and tighter strings tough.
Somthing that I consider is buying an extra electric guitar for my metal needs and some experimentation with different tunings (LTD, Epiphone, Stagg, something like that).
Yamaha semi acoustic.
Definitely my favourite guitar. Very warm.
Amps;
Still on my first amp which is a very small Vantage amp. It's enough for me for now.
If I can find the time, I'm going to build a 100W amplifier myself.
Effects.
Just one, A Dunlop Crybaby (wahwah) for bass. And it is fantastic.

2001 American Fender Stratocaster
(http://www.chrisguitars.com/iban04js100-red.jpg)
Ibanez JS 100
It looks more or less like that except the floyd rose looks different and it has some scratches. Personally it plays like shit but that could've just been my old crappy amp.
