Title: Photoshop Color Help

I have Photoshop CS2, I'm trying to take a picture of my face and make my face look like it's painted white. I can't figure out how to do it, I desaturize and color with the white color, but it comes out looking grey. I also need to know how color things black in the same way. Can anyone help me out?

what is it you're trying to do? change the skintone?

if you want breight white and dark shadows, then greyscale it and go to image>adjustments>brightness/contrast
