mine will be Bob Mould in gent. (belgium)
I'm considering to buy tickets for death cab for cutie and hard-fi
-
Going to Death Cab for Cutie hopefully.
And already got tickets to Broken Social Scene in Febuary.
-
I'm seeing Colin Meloy's solo tour in San Francisco in a couple weeks.
-
I might see some quasi local band (They're actually located in Springfield, Missouri), Speakeasy, depending on the cash I have when they come here.
-
Unless I see anyone else between now and February, it'll be Oasis on the 2nd or something.
-
Local metalcore band Gascoigne on the 21st.
Not a big fan of metalcore but their mosh pits are insanely fun.
-

Oasis in March. Most of the good local bands have gone on tour, and it's hard to find a concert here that isn't mostly country, folk, or classical, and they just aren't my thing.
-
I don't know of ANY shows I'm going to yet, it sucks.
-
I think I'm goign to Jesse James on Saturday. THey're pretty shite but the Dead Pets are supporting which is reason enough for just about any gig.
-
I think I'll be going to see Metric, but that's not until march. It makes me sad to think that it'll be months before I go to a show.
-
Well, I'm seeing Stars in Vancouver in early Febuary, and nothing planned before that, since unfortunately I can't get into most of the good concerts yet.
-
Probably local hardcore bands this Saturday.
-
Either The Prophecy, Clutch/Corrosion Of Conformity, Monster Magnet, Sunn 0)))/Earth or Cathedral/Electric Wizard/Grand Magus.
Having no job sucks right now :(
-
Go for the Cathedral/Electric Wizard/Grand Magus show! Seriously, I'd kill to see that.
-
I guess I am going to see the Kidney Thieves tonight, it should be delicious.
-
Oh, that one is a definite. I saw Electric Wizard last April and they were amazing. Can't wait to see Cathedral, missed them 3 times this year already!
-
Might be going to a local metal festival tomorrow featuring 3 mediocre bands, one insanely funny grindcore band and Momentum, a really great band (Pimping them out in the forced listening thread if you're interested). But then again I might just skip the whole thing cause my date (girls like metal too) is kinda torn between this and some other thingamabob.
-
Monster Magnet in Tilburg. Afterwards Henry Rollins and Roadburn (Hawkwind, Ozric Tentacles, Brant Bkork & The Bros,...)

-
My mate John D's birthday party four live bands plus open mic and stand up comedy at a local rock club called Joeseph's Well.
Im doing some stand-up which Im quite neervous but it should be a good night even if I completely screw up.
-
Mine will probably be BSS on the 13th Feb.
-
Hawkwind,
I really ought to kill you, because you get to see Hawkwind and I don't.
-

You're fucking lucky up in the north. Down south pretty much all we get is metalcore and the occasional second tier Gothenburg act.

You got Blood Island Raiders/Scissorfight/Orange Goblin at Christmas!
Manchester is a bit rubbish at times for gigs. Lots of bands go for Liverpool and Leeds over Manchester. Nottingham and Sheffield have it good though.
-
I didn't. I live on the Isle of Wight.
Though I have met members of Orange Goblin. Or former members. I can't really remember. Everyone was very drunk, etc. I do remember that we all agreed that Eyehategod were 'fuckin' awesome'.

Gonna be a large one. There is a distinct possibility I will be crushed to death by the bass, but it's a risk I'm willing to take.
-
Hilary Duff, with my niece.
No, no joke.
-
I'm sorry.
-
I'm sorry.
QFT. Seriously, I think I'd shoot myself. Or I could take special precautions and make sure all future nieces/daughters/friend's daughters/whatever listen to avant garde shit.
-
Depending on when I'm working, Xavier Rudd.
-
Nevermind two shows just came to my knowledge! Stars on Feb 1 and New Pornographers on Feb 20! Ring in the new year right!
-
Kind of played an open mic night in Paris but my first real show is The Ocean Fracture at Nice And Sleazy's. That shit gonna be crunkin'.
-
14/3 Monster Magnet, 013 Tilburg, (NL).
-
I totally forgot about The Prophecy. They're a super special band and i'm told they're totally killer live. AND they're playing one of the smallest pub venues in Manchester, WIN.
-
Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger tonight.
Well the opening acts were worthless so i'm not going to mention them, but ska dancing with my friend Alexandra for RBF was rad, and Goldfinger just put on an awesome set.
-
As far as I know, it's going to be Dream Theater on March 11th. Which will coincidentally be my first concert.
-
Big Day Out Festival next week.
I've also got Deerhoof in february and the Laneway Festival (BSS + others) in march. No doubt more will come up though.
-
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! March 7th and Animal Collective March 22nd. Should get be getting tickets soon. Also Primus whenever they decide to tour, but I'm guessing that will be later in the year.
-
I would be jealous of you, but I am going to see The New Pornographers.... with Belle & Sebastian!
-

Wait, seriously? I've been to a few shows, but that's only because nobody comes here, and when they do I'm broke or gone somewhere.
-
I've never been to a concert either, besides local shows.
-
To be honest, I didn't really get into music until about a year ago, and even then, most of those bands don't still tour (Led Zeppelin, Rush, Black Sabbath in any meaningful form, etc.), and G3 was in Japan this year. I missed Gigantour (which, among others, included Megadeth, Dream Theater, Symphony X, and Nevermore), and that really pissed me off, because they skipped over the Bay Area ENTIRELY.
-
Ah.
Yeah, I have a general issue like this. To quote NN2S, "Good Luck. All My Favorite Bands Broke up in the 80's". And it's true. a good 70% ish.
-
First one will be Soulfly on the 04th of Feb. I don't really like Soulfly, but my mates do. I go to a lot of shows for pretty much this reason. Consolation is, Skindred are supposed to be supporting, so I will be moshing out to some hardcore Reggae Metal action. Jah.
-

Best genre concept ever? I think so!
-
Belle and Sebastian, with The New Pornographers next week.
Or maybe The Walkmen, next week too.
-
Nice. I'm checking out the B & S/New Pornographers show in a month or so.
And I saw Hilary Duff on Saturday. It was painful. And very expensive. The only good part were the pictures of a famous local Elvis impersonator that I took incognito while he was harassing people in the crowd.
-
Deerhoof on the 24th! I also get to see Sigur Ros feb. 7th thanks to the christmas gremlins.
-
I have three concerts lined up. First on Feb. 17, Less Than Jake, then Feb. 21 Motion City Soundtrack and Ok Go, and on March 5 Flogging Molly. I have tickets already and they're gonna rock my socks off.
-
I've never been to a concert, I haven't really been into music until this year. I'm seriously considering making Stars my first, in February. It probably depends on whether I can drag one of my friends with me or not.
-
Sleater-Kinney on Thursday, then the Big Day Out on Friday. Then Bonnie "Prince" Billy in February. Then Sigur Ros in April.
That's the plan.
-
U2 on February 16, then hope anyone bothers to come to Mexico.
-
Hm - I have plans for March.
Appleseed
New Pornographers/Belle Sebastian
Clap your hands.
-
Hmm, supposedly saw Hey Willpower on Friday, but they only played two songs and it was a shitty club cameo... so, Of Montreal on Feb. 3rd, unless I decide to go to the Blixa Bargeld show this weekend, which I might not do because I probably have another commitment. But BLIXA.
-
in febuary i have - be yr own pet, (hopefully) dragonforce (if i can get the tickets), agent blue, sunn0)), the go! team, and then 65 days of static. jesus christ i'm gonna be busy.
-
At this point it looks like nothing until the Dropkick Murphys on St. Patrick's Day. Which should be, as they say, the balls.
-
I saw What Made Milwaukee Famous the first week of January.
Otherwise.... I don't know of any concerts I'm gonna be able to go to except for Final Fantasy in May
-
I'm going to see Of Montreal soonish. :)
-
I'm going to see Of Montreal soonish. :)
man, the way my friend described that band to me i thought they were gonna suck but they really, really don't. wrath pinned to mist is the most pop-tastic single i've heard for a while. i hope you enjoy the gig, man.
-
I'm hoping to go see Of Montreal in march, in wait for it...Montreal. Oh man, the sheer insanity of it all.
-
There are like three awesome shows this February. So my first show of the year is gonna be :
Malajube, cd launch on St-Valentine's day
Animal Collective on feb' 22nd
and maybe (because it costs 40 bucks...) The New Pornographers and Belle & Sebastian
-
Stars on the 4th of Feb.
New pornographers, maybe, on the 18th of Feb.
Man, those are close together.
First real concert......
-
Of Montreal, tonight!
-
BSS with da sturge fo showah!!
-
Geoff Berner hopefully next month sometime...I'd really like to catch Belle & Sebastian, but I'm not old enough >: (
That is bogus.
-
only planed one is:
Dropkick Murphys / Less Than Jake / Far From Finished on the 27th of April in Wiesbaden
-
First gigs of the year:
Last night loads of local bands, some good some not so good.
Tonight Im going to see Dragonforce.
-
Depending on when I'm working, Xavier Rudd.
Did he get to do any shows before he cancelled his tour?
I saw Christopher O'Riley in concert last week. Was great. :)
-
Just got back from Less Than Jake with Damone and Rock N Roll Soldiers opening.
It was amazing.
-
Um... I think it was the local orchestra (the wonderful Charleston Symphony Orchestra) play a concert honoring Mozart. The first half was his 'Jupiter' Symphony, and the second was "his" Requeim Mass. Jupiter is always cool, and there are parts of the Requeim that don't suck that hard. First concert from a musician who actually travelled here was a NYC pianist named David Berkman. He played with two of the jazz faculty members at the local college, and he was fantastic. I need to remind my teacher that I want the recording of that show.
-
I saw Anthrax way back on January 15th. It was intense.
-
Anthrax came here a while ago, and I almost went to see them, but I didn't like any of the other six bands they were playing with. And I generally don't like to sit through six bands of crap.
-
Mogwai on march 16th.
Fuck Yeah
-
Nathan Haines on Waiheke island on the 3rd of Feb was my first concert this year, I think.
-
Paul Mac this Thursday, then possibly Z-Trip on Friday.
-
Going to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club on the Landing in a week and a half. I'm excited as all hell because I love their new southern gospel rock approach.
-
Stars on the 4th of Feb.
New pornographers, maybe, on the 18th of Feb.
Man, those are close together.
First real concert......
Make sure to let me know how the New Pornographers show is, I'm going to one on the 20th.
I've seen AC Neman live and he was good, so I have high hopes for the rest of the guys.
-
Zombie Ghost Train was probably my first show, though I was just curious about the band.
Then Big Day Out.
But the highlight show of the year thus far: Deerhoof and Pivot at Spectrum, Sydney. Awesome Awesome.
-
Up coming shows I'm excited about. These are the ones that I'm ACTUALLY going to, there are plenty more I've gotta miss:
Of Montreal
Ladytron
Pinback
The Books
Perhaps more....*fingers crossed*
-
The only actual group (worth seeing) that's coming to where I am any time soon is MMW, on April 15th. It'll be my third time seeing them. There may be more, but they're not listed on the venue websites. Well, that's a lie. George Clinton is coming, but it's a Sunday, and I have early classes on Monday. I don't want to see him that badly.
