if any of you record song(s) as a portion of your cellular-machine voicemail, or have in the past, what was the song and/or why?
mine: 2 minutes (not the opening, but some random moment which has amazing jungle-like drumming) of in-a-gadda-da-Vida by iron butterfly, cos i wanted to hear what sorta sound my record player had in recorded form, annd that song is goodness.
before that was clem snide's cover of "i don't want to set the world on fire" cos i wholeheartedly believe it's one of the most romantic songs in the universe.

My ringtones would probably a rotating cycle of whatever badass riffs are grabbing my attention at the moment. For instance, now it would probably be Testament's 'Burnt Offerings'.
Speaking of which, can you use mp3s from your computer as ringtones or do you have to buy them online in a special format?

On an answering machine? I'd totally be playing Demilich. Seriously, that vocals will scare anyone from leaving messages EVER.
