I’m putting together a sun and moon mix CD and so far I’m having more trouble with “sun” than “moon,” though I’d definitely appreciate suggestions on both. Here is my current track list:
Sun
Super Furry Animals, "Hello Sunshine"
Beatles/Voodoo Glow Skulls, "Here Comes the Sun"
Broken Social Scene, "Looks Just Like the Sun"
Mirah, "The Sun"
Moon
Vetiver, "Luna Sea"
Cat Power, "The Moon"
Eels, "Climbing on the Moon"
The Magnetic Fields, "Sad Little Moon"
Tom Waits, "Drunk on the Moon"
The Blow, "The Moon Is There, I Am Here"
Sun Kil Moon, "Gentle Moon"
Nick Drake, "Pink Moon"
-
weezer - island in the sun
feeder - seven days in the sun
aha - the sun always shines on tv
sex pistols - holiday in the sun

The Foo Fighters - A Cold Day In The Sun
Modest Mouse - Sunspots/Sunspots In The House Of The Late Scapegoat
Audioslave - Shadow On The Sun

Methinks Chris Cornell has a sun obsession.

The Killing Moon - Echo and the Bunnymen
Sail to the Moon - Radiohead

i don't know if yr being serious or not.
good song tho.
Really? I thought the Vaselines covered it too. I've heard like ten different versions of this song.
-
i think they did it first. i could be wrong, tho.

I made a sunshine mix. Here is the cream of the crop:
There Was Sun - Devendra Banhart

Of course there are some songs I have that don't have either "sun" or "moon" in the title, but remind me of both things anyway. I don't know if you're looking for those though.

Yea, Sun worship! As "Vision Creation Newsun" has already been mentioned, I'll name-drop the second most hilarious anthem of this wonderful genre:
Ash Ra Tempel, man! - "LIGHT: Look at your sun."
In the morning
when I get up
I look out of my window
and see the blue sky
and I know: He is my own
In the morning, when I get up
I stand in your garden
you can see me
you can hear me
and I say: We are all one
We are all one
