Maybe the debut Beautiful Freak or jump right into Electroshock Blues, which is generally considered his masterpiece. The new one Blinking Lights And Other Revelations is great but I wouldn't say it was a good place to start. You could also start with A Man Called E, which is technically not a Eels album but pretty good from what I hear.

Well I went to the store and all they had was Souljacker. Oh well I plan on colecting them all as soon as money grows from trees.

He has a live album dropping pretty quick featuring all the "hits". And I say "hits" with the quotation marks because it is eels. Sure, George Dubya knows who he is and felt it necessary to publicly bash him, but that isn't really too telling of the general knowledge of the public.

Souljacker and Beautiful Freak are both good places to start.

I'm glad you're getting into them/him. Eels are fuckin' terrific.

Dubya had something to say about E's song 'It's a Motherfucker'. About cursing or something. I don't know. I don't listen to my own prime minister, I'll be damned if I listen to that guy.

I recommend you don't start out with Electro-shock Blues. It's my favourite album, but it's a little harder to get into than say Beautiful Freak or Daisies to the Galaxy.

I recommend Daisies to the Galaxy myself. That's what I started out with. My friend had three of their songs an a mix CD he gave me, "I Like Birds", "It's A Motherfucker" and "Flyswatter", and I was hooked immediately. I ran to the store and got it, and it's still on my 'regular listening' roster.

But really, you need to get all of them.

Bush used one of E's albums as an example of why the music industry had become wrong and corrupt, which is pretty messed. If you're on about that, why would you single out eels?
