Any of you Brits caught this new sitcom on Channel 4?
It's pretty cheesey most of the time but you do get moments of wonderful surrealism and some little gems:
(Serious voice) "Goths are people too"
(Super-nerdy voice) "Would it BLOW. EVERYONE'S. MIND. if I ate my dessert before my sandwiches?"
-
Its funny in places but its not as funny as other Channel 4 Firday night programs eg Peep show or My Name is Earl.
-
Yeah that's true (My Name is Earl is great!!!!)
I was just asking 'cos when I asked some of my friends they said they hadn't even heard of it.
- Just trying to publicise a British sitcom :)

I like it! It's not as hilarious as Graham Linehan's other comedies (Black Books, Father Ted), but it has a sort of charm to it.
Also, i love the appearances of Adam Buxton, Noel Fielding and Chris Morris. Yay for British comedy cameos!
-
i saw the one with adam in yesterday and it is brilliant
especially towards the end
"stop telling everyone i slept with you... bastard"
-
:D I got addicted to this show over the weekend!!!! It's so good!
-
These shows were available to everyone off their official website, but now it seems they are UK only, which sucks because now I have to pirate them to be able to watch. It's a decent comedy, not TOO much brit humour that excludes other people from enjoying it. It's got a low budget indie feel to it but in a good way, reminds me of the kinds of shows I used to watch on the cable access channel.

I thought it was great. Shame they've stopped showing it on the Channel 4 website though. I love Moss.
-
Haha, yeah, he's my favourite!!
"You are not going to Adam and believe this"
"Oh! I am a giddy goat"
Roy: (singing) We don't need no education.
Moss: Yes you do. You've just used a double negative.
Roy: I mean, they have no respect for us up there. No respect what-so-ever. We're all just drudgens to them
Moss: Yes. If there was such as thing as a drudgen, that is what we'd be to them

It's pretty funny. UNpolished but pleasantly nerdy. It might be deliberate, in which case it's really good.
-
hmm I reckon they could turn the humor up a notch, I don't think the script writers are terribly nerdy themselves! There's no 1337 for example but that might be a good thing :S
Yes it is better than some of its BBC rivals though, and much better than the friday night project which I *cannot* watch!
Moss makes me miss 'Garth Marenghi's Dark Place'!
-
The script writers themselves must be quite nerdy indeed for the quality of references is very, very good. The fact that you thought of "1337" means you're not nerdy yourself and have probably missed most of the real references :)
It's the way humour occurs that's sometimes a bit wooden.
-
Well then I bow down before your royal nerdiness :)

Hmm, i only saw one episode of this show, but considering its written by the same guy as Black Books and Father Ted and Chris Morris appears in it, its pretty poor. I might d/l it off a bittorrent site and check out the whole series to form a full opinion but considering it's lineage i was dissappointed.
