I just got back from "Prarie Wind" the Neil Young concert film which was fantastic and that got me thinking, what are some of everyones personal favorite concert movies? Mine has GOT to be "Stop Making Sense"

You just can't beat the big suit.

Stop Making Sense for me too. Totally the best concert film EVER.
I was going to go see Prairie Wind this weekend. Isn't that directed by the guy who did SMS?
-
'The song remains the same'.
Anything with a 20 minute guitar solo and psychadelic lighting.

It is yeah, and you can defenitly tell that they're directed by the same guy (Johnathan Demme) he shoots concerts very, very well.

I saw Dave Chappelle's Block Party the other day, I don't know if that counts as a concert film though...it's like a documentary, comedy, concert film, totally awesome though, maybe not as awesome if you don't enjoy hip hop.
Other than that I'm not sure I've seen any concert films.
-
Stop Making Sense definitely.

I'm pretty sure I've never seen one. Unless the live show on Behemoth's 'Crush.Fukk.Create' DVD counts as one. In which case that.

I really wanna see this actually, it looks really good. Great concert line-up and I find Dave Chappelle quite funny.

I think that's the one I have. Is it the one that spends about 20 minutes doing stupid crap about 'ohh, the tour starts tomorrow' and them running in fields and shit before it actually gets to the music?
Because if it is, I hate that film. If it had just been straight performance, I would've been okay with it - note, passable. Half of their wig-outs are interminable.
Depends how you define 'concert film' though, because loads of bands release live DVDs.
I think my favourite live video is Pink Floyd's 'PULSE,' and after that Queen at Wembley is probably the best damn stadium footage I've ever seen.

Yeah ... but half of that stuff is just them not knowing what the hell they're doing with their stoned-out-of-their-sanity bull. It's funny. And Zep just rocks.

Granted I haven't seen many concert films but:
Tenacious D - Complete Masterworks
RAWK WATER!
-
The Last Waltz.
Scorsese directed film of The Band's final concert. Features guest appearances by Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Neil Diamond, Ringo Starr, Ron Wood, Dr John etc.
It was on Thanksgiving, so The Band set up big banquet tables, fed the audience and then played a fucking amazing show. Best concert ever.
