Title: webcomic source code help
Post by: gaurwraith on 19 Sep 2006, 06:44
Hello! Excuse me for going to the point before introducing myself, but I feel a little overwhelmed by the number of post here...

Anyway, Im from Spain and Im drawing some crap and posting it up in a blogspot page. I do this because I have no idea how to work a real page, and besides I might stop enjoying drawing so I dont want to spend a money I dont have in getting a page done by a proffessional.

Right, so my question is this, can someone pleeeeease, post me the skeleton for a webcomic site??
I mean, HOW DO I DO THE OLD "FIRST, PREVIOUS, NEXT, LAST" strip navigator?

Thanks a lot, tips on implementing it to a blogspot template would be very halpful too.!
cHEERS!!
Im a girl too! And im hot! xD

Umm, wow. There are a lot of different ways to do this. On blogspot, it's probably near impossible... I would suggest going over to one of the free webcomic services, something like http://smackjeeves.com or uhh.. there are other ones, I can't remember the names at the moment though...... Now if you want to host your own site, well you could check out the walrus script http://www.walrusphp.com/files/ those are some options, there are way better tutorials around the internets.

Are you familiar with any programming languages? What are the capabilities of your website? Do you have PHP?

I have a PHP based web comic interface that I would be willing to share. I could also convert it to Coldfusion if for some bizarre reason someone (besides me) needs that.

I intended on releasing it to the public anyway, might as well do it here. After some cleanup...

EDIT:
Sorry, missed the whole Blogspot thing. Are you able to get a pay webhost? I doubt that you would be able to do this with Blogspot unless if they have some sort of built in gallery you could use.

Here is the demo of the interface: http://www.juncmodule.com/comic/index.php?id=1
