Title: Anyone interested on doing a collab on a comic?
Post by: thunk on 14 Oct 2006, 04:24
I am looking for someone to do the colouring of line art for me. I'll take care of all the writing etc. All I am looking for is someone to colour the comic for me at least three times a week. If interested send me an email at [email protected], I already have a test strip ready for colouring. Cheers, thunk.

I suppose any profits made would be shared like 60-40 or something but i won't be actually paying.

Dude, take it from a proffessional. If you can't pay someone upfront for their time then you better just do the job yourself. People have bills to pay and as much as it's fun to do artwork it takes a lot of time out of your day. I work with a lot of startup comics (mostly print) and the biggest thing that keeps them from taking off is the writer never wants to pay an artist. If you did pay offer around 10 dollars a page and try looking for college students. Also, try the comic talent search at www.digitalwebbing.com, you may actually find someone to do it for free (could happen, I once had an entire book drawn by a former marvel artist for free but it may have been a fluke.)

i've got some ideas that i'd like to have someone illustrate for me. i'd offer to pay half and half, if the comic made ANY money that is.

the first is a film-noir style comic about a teddy bear with a trenchcoat and fedora weilding a tommy gun, sorta twisted Disney meet Humphrey Boagrt meets Sin City

the second is an anime styled comic making fun of anime in general (the hero's arch-nemesis: THE COSPLAY SQUAD!)

the third is a comic of my love life, which is damn full of humor in itself

any takers?...anyone?

ever heard of Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse.  One of the main characters was a teddy bear detective.  It's a hardboiled noir mystery set in toy town.  Sorry to burst your bubble.

well, other than the fact that my character isn't a detective, and it doesn't take place ina  toy town, that ruins my damn day. rawr

Yeah! do realise how many people actally make money on web comics, not many.

I'm sorry that sounded alittle meaner than I meant it to.

I can't draw very good, but I would think that there would be some unknown artist just trying to get there name out there who would do it for free. I have friends who would KILL to do that. But that's just my friends...
