For some reason I find that the techno preset w/ auto on is rather pleasing....
And as a side topic. Have you ever listened to Muse - Apocalypse Please, then put Radiohead - Karma Police on right after? It's odd they go together >really< fucking well. That effect was just ruined though by it going to The Offspring - Staring into the Sun :(

flat
-
Flat is the way to go I feel. If the producer and engineers did their job and you're using a decent pair of headphones the track should already be properly EQed.
-
I never touch my software EQ.
-
I killed the high end on my laptop, and boosted the low-mids a little bit. I am a NERD.
-
My iPod eq is off (flat), and my iTunes eq is set to the rock preset.
-
Flat cause I dont have shitty speakers.

SPEAKER FACE-OFF YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!
let's throw down!
-
Flat, with the volume turned up every now and then.
-
eat me tommy...Oh...dammit I got into Muse because of an AMV that was really well done set to apocalypse please
Oh, and speaker fidelity is not a problem of mine, I'm using turtle beach 5.1 earforce headphones....and these are better than most full stereo systems I've seen.
-
Flat of course, though I do kill the low end at night time if I'm not using phones, because my bass is mighty, and small children sleep on the other side of my wall.
-
Khar just won the thread.
Also, I am one of these flat EQ people. Also, all you guys who don't leave it flat: I hope youare cutting, not boosting! Boosting in software = distortion = sad splunkle. You wouldn't want to make me sad, would you? =[
-
Of course I only cut, boost sounds like shit.
-
Flat is the way to go.
Interestingly though, people adapt to whatever they are used to hearing. So if someone always listens to tinny speakers, they will think that normal speakers are boomy. (and vice versa)
-
FFFFFfffffffffffffffffffffflat.
-
because I'm currently using very shitty speakers I use a so called "perfect" itunes eq setting that I found online somewhere. I mean it's alright and improves my sound a tad.
-
Flat when listening through headphones, but I had really crappy speakers for a while, and needed to cut the high end a bit or I'd never hear any mid or bass. I now have much better speakers, so flat all the way. I actually forgot you could EQ things until this thread reminded me.
-
in response to khar.....FUCK THE CHILDREN BASS NEEDS TO BE FELT NOT HEARD!!!!!!
-
I do believe it was Lemmy who once yelled into a microphone "THE ONLY WAY TO FEEL THE NOISE IS WHEN IT'S GOOD AND LOUD".
