Title: Model Painting
Post by: Teroniss on 18 Jan 2007, 12:22
Wasn't exactly sure where to place this since there isnt a board for non-video games, but yeah.....

So anyways, I'm one of those silly Warhammer 40k nerds that enjoys painting armies in his spare time, and I recently completed one that I did specifically for artistic value and nothing more.

Behold, the sillyness of my Christmas Space Marines, The Knights of St. Nicholas (go ahead and make your jokes, Im confident in my abilities and self-secure enough to take em  :-D)

Yay, now I don't feel so bad about wanting to post pics up here.

I'll post up my Tau army in a week, when I finish it off for Conflict: Windsor. All I need are a few Necron Scarab parts from bitz order for my Battlesuits, and I'm set.

I always preferred LOTR models really. Dont really have a camera anyway though :(

Still... Your santa army is awesome. like... if i had the time... and the money... ... i would make an army of santa tyranids. that would rock.

Awesome paintjobs... love the christmas theme. I will also post my cityfight-themed Tau once my camera is out of storage.

I like the space marine conversions! Christmas tree on the dreadnought is especially nice.

Nice christmas theme, I like.

Once I find the cord that connects my camera to my computer I'll post my 'sunrise' cygnars.

Original poster: very nice, but I think you've either been too heavy on the varnish or used those horrible cheap paints made by that other model company whose name escapes me. What I mean is: TOO SHINY.

Cityfight is prettymuch the best thing ever. At least when Warhammer is concerned.

Was that last one a santa-claus dressed up like an ancient maya warrior?

I used to enjoy painting, but I haven't done any in ages. The annoying thing was having to go buy the paints and explain over and over that I didn't play with the models and had no interest in doing so.

Umm yea, the crap loads of varnish was used to give them a hard candy look along with that rest of the christmas theme.
