Apparently he's been plagiarizing almost every webcomic artist ever.
Liz Greenfield posted about this in her LJ (http://lizgreenfield.livejournal.com/17861.html) and there are a few more links and discussion about it there. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Goldman) also has some stuff on it.
I allways hated that "Boys are Stupid, Throw Rocks at Them" crap.

I'm kind of surprised to see this is the only post about it over here (that or I'm blind... but this appears to be the appropriate location for such a post).
It really makes me sad.

I too am shocked this remains the solitary posting on this topicpiece. I've been a huge fan of Kelly since "Living in Greytown". This story is all ablaze across the internet with artist support coming forth from PvP, Penny Arcade, Starslip Crisis, etc. I wish I could think up a more active way to become involved than just to buy a t-shirt*. It's nice to see the webcomics community attempt to rally forth like this to support on of their kinfolk and whatnot, so COME ON QC!

It's the only one that seems relatively impartial to this whole fiasco.
Which is unfortunate, because this is a pretty cut and dry problem. I've been to the David and Goliath store in the Venetian back home (hence why I feel linking a Vegas newspaper article is appropriate) and thought that some of the shirts and art were witty. Now that I know the guy's a total scam, I'm ashamed to have ever thought that.

There's nothing witty here. All of his stuff looks like it came directly out of some frat boy's closet.

If you go to penny arcade, they have some of Todd Goldman's 'work' compared to other people's art that he allegedly stole from. They all look fairly similar, so it looks like this isn't just a one time thing.
Can I ask one thing? What's the difference between a homage and outright theft? What makes it OK for Mel Brooks to make Spaceballs, Weird Al to make Eat It, or for VGCat to make their delightful (and far more entertaining) version of 300?

Damnit, Shmorky was one of the higher-profile folks involved in this case, and now there's kind of a precedent set.
The moral is not "pay the original creators," the moral is "DON'T FUCKING STEAL IDEAS." And now that's going to get lost.
