I want to make a mixtape (yes, it's for a girl) of songs about dinosaurs. Trouble is, I've been racking my brains and I can only come up with a couple:
Low - "Dinosaur Act"
Scout Niblett - "Dinosaur Egg"
I guess I could also put some Dinosaur Jr on there, but that's still only three songs!
Help me, forums! Also, please nobody say "Everybody Walk The Dinosaur", because the music has to be stuff that's actually good and that she would like to listen to. So probably no metal songs about demon witches slaying foul armies of hell-dinosaurs either. Sorry.

Would you count King Ghidorah as a dinosaur? If so, the song 'Monster Zero' by King Geedorah is a song made completely from Godzilla films.

The Modern Things by Bjork is about dinosaurs. Well, it's about technology waiting in a mountain being annoyed by dinosaurs while it's waiting for its time to come out. But it mentions dinosaurs.
There's an old Janis Joplin song where she sings about being a pterodactyl among other things. It's called Caterpillar.

seriously though, King Crimson has a track called "Dinosaur".. its mostly instrumental though. Oh and there's always
Mastodon's "Ol'e Nessie", considering that it's supposed to be a plesiosaur it stills counts.. however I don't know if yer g/f is going to appreciate the sonic erm.. loudness.. of the track hehe

how much of it is about dinosaurs is up to your interpretation, my theory is that a dinosaur fell into a coma, and lived in a strange world before waking up and deciding to kill himself to return.
of course I haven't read the book yet.

It's kind of dire, I think.

The singer of the Get Up Kids has a group called the Terrible Twos who have an overly cutesy song about dinosaurs, "We Can All Get Along With Dinosaurs".
There's also a Raffi song called "If I Had a Dinosaur". I don't have digital recordings of either, but I'm sure they could be hunted down.

Don't ask me how I know this, but Five Iron Frenzy has a song call Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. I think it's kind of stupid, and probably a hidden track and not a real song, but oh well.
I wish you could find the song Pterodactyl by a guy named Mike Hosty, but he's local and I don't think that's made it onto any of his discs yet.
