Who all's seen the leaked trailer? Last I saw it was on Gametrailers because it was taken off of Youtube.
A comic book movie starring Robert Downey Jr! It's gotta be halfway decent if he's in it...

this pic makes me all giddy with excitement. I just hope that we don't have another Hulk on our hands.
-
The leaked footage looked g'damn amazing. Just...wow.
-
They better do this one right, because Iron Man was one of my favorite comic book characters as a kid.
-
A current link to the footage. (http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=88701)
The more I watch it, the more I think "GODDAMN".
-
I am very excited by this, and maintain that Robert Downey Jr. is excellent casting. Snarky coked out playboy acting as... snarky coked out playboy. Okay fine, so Tony Stark was mainly an alcoholic, but I know drug use was at least alluded to somewhere down the line.
-
Like a baboon playing air guitar, I thought nobody in the world had the same idea for an Iron Man movie. But here we are. And I don't think Stark is going to be a drunk in this movie.
-
I just watched that trailer and...and I think I need a towell.
Just fucking wow. Also, good to know they had the common sense to throw some Black Sabbath into the trailer. If ever there was a trailer that NEEDED that song...
-
I heard Tom Cruise turned down the role because his face wasn't going to be seen as Iron Man. Too bad, being a dick like Stark would of come natural to him
And they got Jackson to play Fury. This is going to be amazing.
-
Are you serious? If Cruise had gotten the part I probably would have cried for days.
-
So pumped for this. Opening night for sure. Thanks for the footage.
I gave a huge smile when I read Jackson was Fury, and that they might give the character his own project with more than one installment.
-
Not that Jackson doesn't fit the character, but Nick Fury is... white. It seems like a strange decision. Are they gonna pick a non-Asian actor for the Mandarin now too?
-
Yes, old school Nick Fury is white, but his incarnation in the Ultimates universe is explicitly modeled after Sam Jackson.
-
Huh. Well, that just shows how long it's been since I paid attention to comics.
-
Beyond that, race has always been a bit of a non-factor for the general idea of Nick Fury. With the Mandarin, his ethnicity is a very important part of his character. Calling a French guy 'The Mandarin' wouldn't make much sense.
Looking at more of the details, I really like this project. Ever since the utter mess that was Halle Barey as Storm (She once stated on Leno that being a black actress in Hollywood was hard and she was "reduced to doing a comic book movie." She changed her tune when the checks started rolling in), I've had an appreciation for actors who respect the medium they're translating. Downey's apparently a long time fan of Iron Man and Paltrow actually borrowed a bunch of old comics from her husband.
I'm also enjoying the apparent forethought Favreu has on the movie. He wants it planned as a trilogy.

Which (OFF TOPIC) adds to my pissedoffness at the casting of Watchmen that they didn't put Jude Law as Veidt. The dude loves Watchmen. He has a goddamned Rorschach tattoo.
I don't know if any of the cast has even read the book. :(
-
Guys, did you see him trying to shake those jets? You just know that soon he's going to give up and ruin their shit

Yeah but Nick Cage has a Ghost Rider tatt on his arm because he loves the comic so much and look what happened.
