Title: World In Conflict
Post by: Lazer on 26 Aug 2007, 21:55
hey guys how bout that WIC demo that's all fancy and what not?

World In Conflict Demo (http://files.filefront.com/World+in+Conflict+Demo/;8391048;;/fileinfo.html)

Personally GCI and to a lesser extent GCII are still my favorite RTS games, and the demo for WIC is fancy as hell. I can definitely see myself buying this bad puppy of a game, and 90% of the software on my computer is pirated. That says something.

That pirating games is for jerks and you shouldn't do it?

The beta was fun, but I think the game itself'll get old fast. Once people memorize the maps, it'll be a matter of doing the same thing over, and over, again. It doesn't have the same depth as "true" RTS titles.

I was randomly summoned to participated in the WIC tourney at PAX, and I dunno~

At first glance, I'd agree with Melodic, but after playing some of the people who were hardcore about it, I'd say there is a great level of unique gameplay.

The biggest problem I have with it is the sluggy nature of the units.  Yes, realistic to size, but the fact that you can call down devastating tactical aid nearly anywhere on the map, and just ravage a player's entire force is--problematic.

I do like the micro element of the game.

I'm half n' half on this one.:|
