I belive the last one (http://forums.questionablecontent.net/index.php/topic,14115.100.html) was in february
would that make it long enough?

I did ctrl+f "pets" on a few backwards pages and found NOTHING.
as in SFA.

I really want a roomba. Adorable, and helpful!

Libby, the smallest cat. She likes to chill and watch tv, and hates it when I take photos of her.
Tessa. She has one eye, is obscenely obese, has asthma and allergies, loves cuddles and is better at mousing than Libby. She caught a wood pidgeon a few weeks ago that was so big, I swear it was a hawk or something.
-
That one-eyed cat is like the bad-ass adventure person with an eyepatch in shitty animes and movies. You know, the one who is bad ass and has one eye.

UH OH. WATCH OUT GUYS, I AM TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH MY DOG AKA THE CUTEST THING EVER.

Dear god, cute kitty.
-
My ball python Amadeus is shedding at the moment, so any picture I take would look more like a character from a slasher movie than a cute lil' baby snake. Though he is starting to grow really fast, I'm probably going ot have to upgrade his tank in a month.
-
It's not really a pet, but a new baby Jersey-bovine was born the other day, so my brother sent me a pic (I forgot to stop and see it when I was at home--I say 'it' because I am not sure whether it is a boy or a girl).
-
This is why i could never be a cow rancher, I would end up making them all personal pets.
-
Yes..it is a problem. They are -so- damn cute!! ...And then they get big, and they're still cute, but not in the same way.

I will tell house guests that I have a rodent problem and then let Mr. Whiskers out of his enclosed area to introduce himself to my guests in the dead of night. Mr. Whiskers and I will laugh about it for hours.

Warning, I am at school and therefore missing my dog a lot. She is ridiculous and adorable and fairly insane!

And this is the evil cat that likes to watch me at night. He comes around every week, and I got me some photo evidence now.
I've called him Hatty.
-
The cat is a rescue cat who has been hit by a few cars and is now not too smart.
To be fair, if it's been hit by a few cars, I doubt it was too smart to begin with.
I present Jojo, the scardie-est pitbull you'll ever see.
I've seen scardier. You've never seen my old pitbull/rottie when I used to put on my Darth Vader voice altering helmet thingy. If I get up the wherewithal to actually look through some of the pictures from my old apartment, I'll dig up and post some pictures of her.
-
These are my birds, Marcus and Zeus. They're on their "dad's" head. They like it up there.
This is my Mousie, Mel. She liked to jump around a lot (she would climb around upside down on the mesh top - I actually have video of it). She died like the day after I took this.
And Pyra, our crested gecko. She's cool. She eats crickets.

All you have to do to scare mine is stand up or walk into the room. He was really really abused, then abandoned, when we got him.

Sounds like my old roommate's dog, Scooby. He was an Italian Greyhound and was scared of his own fucking shadow. Ugly as sin, too.

Here we have Willow, first as a kitten, then as a stoic grownup cat watching nonexistant birds out the window.
Bubbles, my rabbit! His name is actually Poppet, but he is my Bubble-O-Bill, Beelzibubbles. I was trying to teach him how to dance like a zombie, but he wasn't too impressed.
He likes the look of the camera, though. Stoney thinks she is his Mama, so it is hilarious to watch this big dog follow the tiny rabbit everywhere.

We call that "hunting" where I come from.

Also, moo obviously wins for having the cutest pet ever.

Tigerlily (Tiger, Tigeypants, Tigerbear, Scruffymuffin, Princess, Fluffbutt or Tiges for short) finds my new washing machine fascinating.
We adopted Tiger when she was a kitten, her mummy gave birth to her and her brothers under my boyfriend's house. Back then she looked like this.

I want a kitty. Damn the fact that I have birds. Damn.
And an allergic fiance. Although, they make hypoallergenic cats (http://www.allerca.com/) now.
-
We have therefore taken the decision to stop taking any orders for a period of twelve months, effective September 30th, 2007. [...] If you want to purchase an ALLERCA GD hypoallergenic kitten, you should place your order before the cut-off date of September 30th, 2007.
Order one now! Quickly!
(I have two friends with both birds and cats, and it seems to work out okay?)
-
I've seen cats and birds get along, yeah... but my birds are nuts. They would try to take on the cat. If I had a cat, it would not be declawed (I like my fingernails; don't you? Cats do, too), and if it even decided to paw at the bird and nicked it, the bird could die. Cats have funky bacteria that doesn't agree with birdies.
Also, cats and birds get along best when the birds stay in their cage. Mine don't when we're home; they like to roam around.
But anyway... maybe one day. I like animals. We definitely want a dog. We're in love with Akitas. And I want another bird; probably a moluccan cockatoo. My guy wants a severe macaw, iirc.
-
If I had a cat, it would not be declawed (I like my fingernails; don't you? Cats do, too)
They aren't removing a fingernail. They take out the whole first knuckle. A number of things can go wrong too, the most common occurs when they don't remove the knuckle properly. This causes the claw and knuckle to try to regrow, which it can't. It tears through the skin, and causes a lot of bleeding, plus infections.
-
Oh, I know. I just said that cuz the only way to truly remove a nail is to rip off the first knuckle completely. It's probably the kindest thing you can do to a kitten, I think.
-
Declawing is so bad. Get some damn nail clippers for crying out loud.
-
Hannah, your dog is awesome. Also I could swear he looks like Est in that picture.
-
Aw, man, Hannah's dog isn't as mangy as all that.

Post starter, your dog Akita is adorable.

The brittish shorthair (I think) is sooo cute, and lunchboxes cat has soo much majesty, and all the fluffy dogs and reptiles and bunnies and stuff, this is awsum.
Moar akita when imageshack stops being annoying.

A few pictures of my ball python Amadeus, fresh from his shed today. Man, he is gettin big fast---*screams and sound of crushing bone*
-
*Shudder*
Why did it have to be snakes?
-
I love snakes.
I like too many animals for my own good... and the ones I've already got look incredibly tasty to many animals.
-
Hellz yeah. I've already decided I'm going to become a snake collector, of the safer, smaller constrictors that is. If I get rich I might consider keeping a burmese python, but at the moment my list of snakes to own goes as follows:
-ball python : check!
-corn snake -butter corn morph
-rosy boa
-kingsnake - inverted stripe morph
-green tree python (by far the most beautiful animals I have ever seen)
By the way, today's feeding day. Pictures will follow (in the form of links so the squeamish can be protected)
-
My friend's got an albino corn snake. She wanted a ball python, but when her mother saw it, she ran from the store screaming. The mother was more willing to put up with that little corn snake. They only had babies in the pet store, see. One of these days, she will walk into her daughter's room and will die of fright.

This is a squished up Chinchilla.
-
no, Chinchillas are naturally squished, they're like a rabbit scrunched down into a gerbil's body. Another pet I might like to have.
Yeah, corn snakes get to be about 6 feet don't they? That mom made a big mistake. I like albinos, but I like the butter corn or butter corn motley morphs better, they're warmer yellow tones and whatnot.
-
Chinchilla! *squeals like a 6 year old* When I want to bask in cuteness...I Google chinchilla's. And then I scream in shock and horror when coats made of chinchillas come up along with the pictures of the cuteness. And I must say, Mont was an incredibly cute kitten.
-
as if Amadeus isn't the most incredibly cute neonate ever (and now full of mouse. Stuffed and content babies anyone?) . Psh.

Ruyi I miss my kitty too. She died yesterday.
-
My cat died like half a year ago, and not a day goes by that I don't think of him.
I'm sorry for your loss and I empathize.
-
Yeah. It is harder because we had to put her down because of bone cancer, and we had to put down the one I ran over 6 weeks ago.
This one:

This summer has sucked balls.
-
We had to put down my 17 year old miniature poodle Pepper last year. it gets lonely when she isn't sittin' on the couch next to me, progressively shifting to find a comfortable position until her butt is pointed directly at me so she can fart and make me gag and have to leave the room for a few minutes. God I miss that dog. Liver failure sucks.
However I have just recieved word form my future roomate that he's getting a kitten. New life replaces old I suppose.
-
I bring pictures of my sister's roommate's cats. I am over there enough that I feel attached to these little guys.

-
This is an old "family" picture.
The kingsnake in the back passed away in December. She was the one who got me over my fear of snakes, as my wife is the reptile lover in the house. Since the picture we have added Bull the rat, Henry the dog, and Tatsumi the snake. For the snake lovers here is a link to more of his pictures - http://imageevent.com/richardsdm/tatsumi
-
I have very limited photos of my cat right now (the hard drive on my laptop died, so I have to wait until I get it back and upload all the crap on my external), so here are the ones I have in my photobucket:
Picture I took two years ago. (http://junefire.deviantart.com/art/Waffles-in-black-and-white-30156845)

When he was a baby.
He's much fatter than this, so I'll get another one up later.
-
It always bemuses me when people post pictures of pets that are famous on the internet.
-
This one: Pic of a one-eyed cat.
My family used to live in my grandmothers home. She loved cats and at one point had something like 40. Of them all my dad only got close to a one-eyed cat. Eventually they all succumbed to leukemia. I always found it amazing how well animals can adapt to losses like limbs and eyes.
-
All of them?
You know, I'm no doctor, but when forty some-odd cats all succumb to one horrible disease, I'd like to think that's somewhat of a red flag...

Not at the same time, and yeah all of them. I would probably have done something if they were my cats, but my grandmother had liver failure and so was a little crazy.
-
I used to have pets, however i have no pictures as i'm not a photograph person. here are pictures of pets similar in appearance to mine for your viewing pleasure.
I've also had cats and various other pets too personal to simply use images from GIS for.
-
That tripod thing is weeeird.
-
picture full of awesomeness
Wow, very nice. What kind of snake is Tatsumi? another king?
I'm trying to find a decent picture to represent the morph I want, but for some reason the intarwebs is failing me today.
-
He is a Kunisar rat snake. They are originally from the mountains of japan. It's funny, I'm used to having to keep reptiles warm, but he actually wants it to be about 65-70 degrees.
-
For some reason Chinchillas horrify me. Sorry, dudes who like chinchillas. (I am more of a mouse person.)
-
But Chinchillas are like giant extra-fat mice with less of a tail and the fur of a rabbit. And they eat people. Right?
-
Ally, have you ever pet a chinchilla? Holy crap are they soft. They have approximately a million jillion hairs in the area of one human hair, making them just *stupid* soft
-
Well no. I have not actually seen a real live Chinchilla. I don't think anywhere sells them around here. Shall I just live in hope that actual Chinchillas are a whole lot cuter and less stumpy creepy red-eye-flash looking than the ones I see on the Internet?
-
I'm just saying, if that's not adorable then I don't quite know what is.
-
I know! Look at its feet!
-
That one looks like it's about to push you down the stairs.
-
But it's so fluffy!!! I think it's trying to kill you with cute, not by pushing you down the stairs.
-
omg, Chinchillas are -so cuuuuuute-, argh! I want one really bad, but I live in dorms and can't have anything other then fish, and keeping one at home would put it in imminate danger of being eaten. Stupid cats.
And I can't help but squeal a little everytime I open this thread and see that kitten with the shoe string.
Goddamn you people and your fucking cute pets! Argh!
-
Hey, i bought and snuck my snake into the dorms, as long as your roomate is cool with it you could literally keep anything in there lower than a cat/dog/ferret. Pretty sure Chinchillas don't really make any noises beyond the odd squeak.
Just remember to keep your door shut when you're in there, the people down the hall who owned a banded california kingsnake nearly got caught once, the cage was in the closet and the only thing keeping the RA from seeing it was me. Really close call.
They are actually the guys who gave me the idea of buying a snake in the first place. Bad influences, :P
-
There was a few (there were a few?) in a pet shop near where I now work, they sleep alot and if you gently blow at them they do something really really cute.

He's fucking adorable. And so soft that when you touch him, you don't even realize it.
Also, he can play DDR.

Either I had never seen a chinchilla before, or I'd blocked them from my memory. They look like the kind of animal that starts out all cute and fuzzy, but before you know it it's chewed holes in your favorite socks and pooped on your keyboard. But you can't hate them because they're soft and fuzzy and their fur is the equivalent of MSG.
-
That's a great picture clockworkjames. You can see it in the eyes!
I may be fostering a pair of sugar gliders in the near future, I'll post pictures when they arrive.
-
You have officially sold me a chinchilla for when I move out.
-
It sorta makes you wonder how the hell those things ever survived in the wild, or where in the hell they come from for that matter. Great, now I have to research it.
Edit: Right then, let's get started with the basic wikipedia article found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinchilla (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinchilla).
Notable parts of the Wiki entry include:
"Chinchillas are rabbit-sized, crepuscular rodents native to the Andes mountains in South America. Along with their relatives, viscachas, they belong to the family Chinchillidae."
"The animal (whose name literally means "little Chincha") is named after the Chincha people of the Andes, who wore its soft and dense fur. By the end of the 19th century, chinchillas had become quite rare due to hunting for their fur."
"Mathias F. Chapman, a mining engineer from California, was working in Chile in 1918 when he purchased a chinchilla as a pet and took a liking to it. He envisioned raising a whole herd of chinchillas and he applied to the Chilean government for permission to capture and transport several animals to the US."
"Chinchillas make many noises, including barks, chirps, and squeaks."
including barks, chirps, and squeaks
(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y110/Wildkyn/ChinSquash.jpg)
Yes. That is a chinchilla, holding a sticker that he has just removed from the squash beside him.
-
TINY FEET!
For the record, I've spent several nighttime hours (they are nocturnal, which is GREAT for people who work all day, but don't want to depress an animal by leaving it alone for eight to ten hours a day) with Charlie, and he didn't make one sound... except when I almost stepped on him.

I think I have a zoo... Personally, I have two cats, one fish, one dog, and one ferret. I used to have another fish, but he got eatted by Katrina (the other fish). Michael has two cats. I will post pictures of ALL of them!
Chiasm is a rescue kitty. He's about 5 years old, very sweet and loving, and will let you hold him like a baby. Two caveats to his awesomeness: He eats (and poops) plastic, and pees when he's scared. He has different colored eyes (heterochromia) and is named after the place in the brain where this defect(?) is thought to happen, the optic Chiasm. I'm a neuro-nerd.

Chiasm and Jager.
Ludo is a Russian Blue, and I got him when he was 6 weeks old from some crazy lady in Melissa, TX who wanted to feed him to her German Sheppard. He's named after a character in the Labyrinth, 'cause I'm a Bowie fan. <3

Herbert is a chiuahua! My friend's dog had babies and I got to keep one.
He thinks he's people.
He does NOT like the outfit I made him..outta a sock. I think he looks like a gansta

Katrina in her wall-tank. It was hard to clean, so I eventually put her back into a regular filtered tank, but she died a few money later. I was pretty happy, because I don't really like fish. I just got her because she was missing scales and they were going to throw her away. I get her for 50% off. I got another fish to be her friend, but she ate him. His name was Mr. Pink.
She is named after the Hurricane.

Michael's cats: Penelope is about 2 years old. He got her from the ASCPA. She's fat and two toned. Boss is about a year old and we got him on our one year anniversary (AWWWW US!). He's a bastard, but SOO cute. And his name is actually Boss Nigga (like the TV show), but don't tell anyone who might get offended!
Baby boss:

(Thread necromancy much? Not that I'm complaining, but...)
Cute zoo! Just, uh, make sure all your fences are at least at recommended height--those are some pretty ferocious-looking felines.
This is the dog of the family I was living with in Italy. His name's Miele, which means "honey" and also happens to be the name of the largest appliance manufacturing company in the region. He smelled awful, all the time (but he was pretty cute).

And may I just say that we also have 17 dwarf hamsters. This is a result of one word: oops. These are just three of them, Starsky, Hutch, and Huggie Bear. (Most of them are named by theme, just so we know who is in what cage. We also have The Beatles, and the Golden Girls, among the themes.)

This is my weird little dog, Montague. He's a (hairless) Chinese Crested dog, and he's about 1 1/2 years old now.
This is him when he was about 8 weeks old--the first picture I saw of him. I'm pretty sure it was the Rod Stewart/Andy Warhol/Albert Einstein hairdo that did it for me.

Excuse me miss, it may not be prudent, but...I believe you should be informed that your dog has a mullet. Why does your dog have a mullet?
See? Canine mullet. I would appreciate knowing how this happened.
Edit: Seriously, I have to go to bed now and I don't have an answer yet. It's a dog...a dog with a mullet. Can someone explain to me how this slight against all that is good and pure happened?
-
Pat Sharp was into bestiality. The only explanation I can come up with...
More cute doggies please, these are all really cute. My contribution of cats and dogs.

Yeah, common breed trait I guess. Most Chinese Cresteds tend to have mullets for the first few months of their lives. Don't worry though, Monty's party in the back has now extended to the front, so he looks like an unwashed but mulletless rock star of some sort now.

This is my kitty (Waffles):
He is very fat.
But I loves him because he's a cuddle bug and he keeps my feet warm at night. (He hates everyone except me and my mom though.)
-
Of course he's fat. YOU NAMED HIM WAFFLES.
-
None of my cats sleep on my bed anymore. I think this is because I tend to hug with anything on hand (usually a spare pillow, but you can see a fat cat in place of this) and I think they just got fed up with being trapped in a bear hug all night.
Yes, it took a long time to wean me off of stuffed animals, and no, I'm not ashamed of it in the slightest.
-
I always wondered if it would be cruel to get a fat rescue cat and give it all the food it wanted just so they would be awesome for hugs. The cat would be happy, but unhealthy so... I think I will just get a normal cat and feed it normally.
-
Well, my cat is also a tomcat. Meaning even if he wasn't fat, he'd still be effing huge. We've also been monitoring his diet, but he just won't loose weight. But he's 12 years old and possibly has arthritis, so he's not very active anymore, which he definitely was when he wasn't fat and old.
But he is still awesome for cuddles, so it's ok!
-
It's my kitty! He is so big and grumpy! How I loves him. His name is Shadow, I call him Meow Meow.

Chickens! This is Loser 1 and fatty. Loser 2 died and it was very traumatic).
This is my FAVOURITE chicken, Bawkbagawk. (points if you get the Brak Show reference). I love her, she is majestic.
-
What type of cat is Shadow? I've been trying to figure out what Hedda has in her, because she was a stray, and Shadow looks quite similar.
-
Just a guess, but try Russian Blue.
-
I have no idea. He is an RSPCA kitty. Someone has suggested Russian Blue before though.
-
Could be either that or a British shorthair (aka british blue) mix. My aunt used to breed them 'cuz they have such soft plush fur, like a grumpy stuffed animal; she had to stop though 'cuz they're a touch rare in the US and didn't want to interbreed or go through the expense of traveling all over hell. Russian blues tend to have narrower faces and big ears relative to their heads, whereas British shorthairs are comparatively big cats with really round heads. Of course, since it's a shelter kitty who knows what's in there muddying the waters? It certainly doesn't look quite like either breed, so he probably is a bit of a mutt, but who cares? It's not like pure breds are more fun anyway.
-
Happycat is (was ) a Brittish shorthair and I want one sooo much, all the ones I have met are super affectionate.

melanie with our bird, kulapo (music geek points for anyone who guesses the origin of the name)
we got kulapo when we lived in downtown oakland in the 4th floor of an office building convered to a live/work space - a good 10 blocks from residential houses in any direction. He flew up over the 6th floor down a light well, and hung out on our living room window on easter day, it was raining heavily too, he's a bad-ass. A couple years later i met a bird enthusiast who worked in the building next door, who saw him haning around all week before easter and triedto coax him down with treats, small and strange world.

-
Is that a corgi?!
Oh goodness how badly I want a corgi dog. They are the coolest dogs I've ever met/read about/etc.
-
I don't believe that's a corgi. A corgi generally has more of a fluffy look and stubbier legs.

that looks a lot like a corgi Jon, but I admit I doubt that it's a purebred one, looks like it could have some German Shepherd in it or some other dog to give it that size.
-
as best as i can figure she's corgi and shiba inu or maybe chow because of the tail, copious shedding and purple tip on her tongue. Definitely corgi though, the herding instinct is strong. She once herded a bunch of baby ducks, it was the cutest thing ever.
-
awesome. That is the best mental image I have ever had. You have given us a gift this day.

they have such soft plush fur, like a grumpy stuffed animal
That's a pretty good description of my Meow Meow. But I'd doubt he's pure anything, other than grump.

cheesepie, your dog is really fucking cute!!

So I have three dogs, two of which are miniature dachshunds. The third is a mutt--an eighty-pound mutt. We like contrast.

His little sad face was so irresistable.

That's the mutt and one of the mini dachshunds taking a nap.

And here's the third, looking very curious about what I am doing.
-
Your mutt (what's it's name?) looks kind of disappointed that it's lying next to a mini-pooch instead of another real dog. I would be.
-
haha, yeah, he probably is. That was right after my parents got the first dachshund, and he really was not entirely sure what to make of this tiny thing that insisted on sleeping with him. He's still not a huge fan of them. Fortunately, all he has to do when they annoy him is stand up.

Pearl, with two of her kittens. They never had names. The one on the right has since been taken to the humane society, and the one on the left will be further referred to as Kitty.

Kitty's brother liked to sit in things that forced his body to conform.
Kitty, as she is now [she's still so tiny though, only 5 pounds. It's crazy to see her pregnant!]
Adrien, Kitty's first son [taken to the vet, where he was adopted by a nice lady who worked there].
Adrien's younger brother and sister. Cute, huh? The dark one ran off to a new home and the white one... well, we had to take her to the humane society.
Dot, another one of Pearl's daughters [older than Kitty].
Blaze, who is unrelated [though he and Dot are oddly similar, in that way that fathers-and-daughters can be. But Blaze is fixed].

Oh, and I have a dog, named Pepper.

I just found a bunch of photos of my kitty I forgot I even had. He was SO SMALL. Look at him compared to the size of the boy's docs.
I really want another tiny kitten, but I dont think I could share my love.
(PS That kitty in the casserole dish fills me with joy. He looks so confused as to why his foot wont pass through the glass.)

She and her brother Otis got dumped on our front porch when they were about 6 weeks old when I was 3. Otis ran off later, but she stuck it out with me. She died of a type of bone cancer that apparently only usually occurs in rottweilers this past October. She was 19. She was so bossy, and always just walking all over people. Like seriously, you'd just be sitting there and then all of a sudden she's basically just pushing you onto the ground to sit on you. Also she used to lick my hair; I guess she thought it tasted good.

This guy's name was Wanderer, after Taran from the Lloyd Alexander series. He had huuuuge feet, and whenever we would see him prowling through the backyard he always looked vaguely like a cheetah. He had cataracts in the one eye (although sometimes the light would shine through it funny and we could see his eye was completely intact behind it, and I think he sometimes could see through the cataract) and was mostly deaf. He reminded me of Willy Nelson, all old and grizzled and kind of a hippie and been there forever and never dying. He showed up one day to eat our other cats' food and bully them around because he was a Tough Guy, but then he stuck around and eventually let us get him fixed. After that there was not a sweeter, less demanding cat I have ever met. He wanted whatever affection I would dole out, and would follow me around whenever I was outside just to be near me. A lot of his nights were spent peering in the windows at us, wanting to be inside not because it was cooler or warmer or the weather wasn't so bad in there but to be with us; and it was sad because we often ignored him in the hopes that he would go amuse himself (my mom is allergic to cats and wasn't getting shots at the time).
In August 07 he was sleeping under my car and I had to leave because I was late for work and I didn't check, and I ran over him. He was put down three days later because of a ruptured bladder that was leaking somewhere into his abdominal cavity. We found out after he had gotten some Xrays that his head was not actually supposed to be that round, but built up scar tissue from so many fights over the years, plus a poorly healed fracture in his jaw that had some calcium around it, made it kind of misshapen. We also found out that once, back before we knew him, he had been shot not once or twice but three times, and only one of them could possibly be confirmed to be merely a BB, because the others were just shrapnel. Ever since he died I have always felt like we were never fair to him, because he never demanded anything of anyone and was the most grateful creature I have ever seen for so little in return, and we by comparison did not shower him with unrestrained affection but barely spared him such attention as we could be bothered. I can say, though, that because of him I was far more aware of what I should have offered him, so that I could in turn give Thelma the interaction she craved during her last weeks out of respect for both her and his memory.

That is such an awesome cat, the eyes are a little like the bladerunner cat.
I could write some about a rat I use to have, he is still my favourite pet ever but it is too depressing.
I miss you ratfink :'(

This is my sister's kitten Nabisco. He is pretty much only ever in pictures when he is asleep because the flash spooks him. He is about a year old now, but he got fixed when he was not even 8 weeks, so he's still got the pointy head and the big ears and never grew much larger than kitten sized. He is a weird cat, because half the time he spooks and runs away from everything, but the other half the same stimulus (like dropping something heavy on the floor next to him) he won't even notice.

This is my buddy Oscar. He and Nabisco are best friends and playmates, otherwise he would come and live with me (you know, if I could afford the $400 pet deposit). They both live indoors because we had a cat named Tormey around two years ago now who was indoor-outdoor and one day he got spooked by the garbage man on his way outside and we never saw him again; it was pretty ominous when later the same day Animal Control picked up a coyote on the next street over, so I am pretty sure what happened, even if my sister will never admit it.
It is strange for a cat to adopt a person and not a territory, but somewhere along the line Oscar decided I am his human, and every time I go visit my parents he is right there at the door waiting to smoosh his nose into mine on the stairs in greeting, and he really likes sleeping curled right against my butt at night, under the sheets of course. He is about three-ish and enormous at 23lb, even though he is not really fat - there is a type of cat that tends to be tabby, male, and just friggin huge, and I don't remember what it is called, but he is one. Admittedly, he has got a little fluffy pooch on his lower belly when he sits that covers his feet, but for the most part he is pretty solid and not flabby at all. Also he has got this thing about sleeping on his back in kind of a spread eagle positions, but I really can't figure it out. Cute, though. He is curious about pretty much everything and his most recent adventure is How To Get Outside.

He blends into the floor!

I am now convinced that orange tabbies were developed from the necessity of blending into the wood grains of lightly stained and waxed oak flooring.

We've (meaning the boyfriend and I) have discovered Cipher (the dog above) loves poptarts. If you even rustle the wrapper of one, he comes running and wags his tail so much that the whole half end of him is wiggling.
He's gotten really bad at begging, though. He used to just lay his head in your lap and look up at you with a pleading look, but now he makes noises and paws at you.

Cats can fly!
Note for concerned citizens and sleeper agents for the RSPCA:
My cat loves doing gigantic leaps off the ground at cat toys and the like. I didn't like, throw him or anything.

This is probably my favorite picture of my cats ever. The black one is U-Turn, and the gray one is Myla:
