I love this show, I think its the best new show on television.
Every week, my friends and I go over my friend's house to watch it, Because its THAT good!
What do you think?
-
I like it. It's colorful, the story is fun, and it reminds me sort of a children's book turned into a movie. Actually, I need to figure out which movie the style of the show reminds me so much of, because it's there, but I don't remember what it is.
-
Big Fish?
-
No, but close. The one I'm thinking of is from when I was a kid.
-
Tim Burtonesque definately
-
yet another prime time show I can not enjoy thanks to the timing of my night classes
to it's credit I hear it is phenomenal
-
YES BIG FISH. You answered a question i never asked, oh qc forums how i love you so. Omg you guys have no idea how insane that has been driving me.
Anyhow, love the show, but i've been working wednesday nights now, ABC is usually good about having shows online but i have yet to find time to check it out.
-
My new favorite show. It's morbidly cute.
-
It reminds me a lot of the imagery of the 2001 french film Amelie by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. It has the same sort of magical realism style from that movie, with the exxagerated colors and off beat characters.
-
The ads made it look really good, but I haven't gotten a chance to actually watch an episode yet. Maybe I'll try to find it online somewhere.
-
All the episodes are available at abc.com for those that want to check it out.
I really, really like this show. It does have a very whimsical feel to it, and a very interesting story idea to boot. The greatest thing is that it's so well done and almost cheesy, but in a good way? I don't really know how to explain it any other way, but it's definately worth checking out if you have some free time.
-
I hadn't really thought about it, but Big Fish and Amelie are two excellent comparisons, and also two movies that I happen to love.
The kind of humor present in the show also tends to remind me of The Princess Bride.
It's a fabulous, quirky, musical show and it doesn't hurt that Chuck and the Piemaker are ridiculously endearing.
-
I love this show. Nothing else on TV like it. It totally reminds me of Big Fish but the narrating style kind of reminds me of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie a bit.
-
I have heard great things about this show, but I watch far too many series already to justify keeping up with this one as well.. Might download the episodes and watch over Christmas or something, though (seeing as I can't watch them at abc.com).
-
I guess it's like a Burton film. But without the suck.
-
I totally didnt see the whole "She was training me to do her bidding the whole time!" thing, Also, I totally felt from the beginning it was the first wife, but when I saw the new wife I was like "OH ITS GOT TO BE HER!"
and I'm kind of rooting for olive, I hope she gets a boyfriend soon.
-
I know absolutely nothing about the show other than that it's apparently really good. What's the premise and whatnot? I'll probably check it out this weekend, but I'll just torrent em, I'm boycotting watching stuff on ABC.com for the sake of the Writer's Guild strike.
-
Guy can bring dead people back to life, but if he touches them, they die. He brings his childhood sweetheart back to life. Great show ensues.
-
I love this show. I want its sarcastic, bright colored babies. I uhh.... "tivo" it in HD every week. So wonderful. The narration really does it for me.
-
"Bitch, I was in proximity!"
-
I love his eyebrows.. They're so.. big..
Also, that whole singing in the rain was retarded.
-
I saw the first two episodes and fell utterly in love.
Unfortunately, I cant watch on a regular basis, because the only TV in the dorm that gets the riight channel is reserved to watch American Idol.
You do not get between American Idol fans and their television.
Stupid dorm internet's too slow to download the episodes.
I think it's lovely, though. The narration is like a Dr. Seuss book.
-
these show is great and I am glad I can catch some parts of it
-
My mother loves the show, and the first episode was pretty good.
Last night's bored me though. My sister thought it was a movie, for some reason.
I have only ever seen those two episodes.
-
My wife and kids were watching the other day while I was on here. When I started to pay attention to the show i just about bust a gut. It was that funny but also in a morbid kind of way what is essentially what i enjoyed most.
-
Also Ned is really cute, and ridiculously so. I love his hair.
-
Yeah, really good, stylish show. Probably the only new show I've found worth watching.
-
How could you say this week's was bad? It was really good...
-
i tried watching an episode but all the dialog moved way to fast for me to absorb it
-
Yes, thats my only gripe with the show. I barely know whats going on during the detective scenes, that when its over I go "Whaaa...?". Instead, I focus on the love triangle between Ned,Chuck, and Olive.
-
This is my favorite new show. People dying has never been so funny.
-
I haven't intentionally watched television in 4 years. But now I watch Pushing Daisies.
(and I watched Tin Man, but I digress)
-
WOAH! I didnt see that twist coming!
-
Are people still watching this? You totally should! It is still awesome, but in danger of cancellation after a decrease in ratings this fall (I don't get why. They're on at the same time as Knight Rider and Bones, and for some reason, Bones has gotten better ratings this fall, even though it basically sucks nowadays, minus one not-bad episode), so it needs all the attention it can get. It is on tonight, at the same time as the Obama message-thing and some baseball, I think (not too up to date on the tv schedule over there other than for the shows I watch), but it is so great and should not have to suffer cancellation. That would be sad.

Doubt I'll be sending them letters or daisies, but I signed. Not that I think it'll help, but it's worth a shot, imo.
-
Oh no! I guess I should watch it on an actual TV, then. It is so darling.
-
It would be terrible if this show was cancelled! I freaking love it.
It's definately in my top 5 favorite shows, and I'm not sure if I could fill that void if it were cancelled.
-
Bones has gotten better ratings this fall, even though it basically sucks nowadays, minus one not-bad episode
Man wtf Mari. I love Bones. =(
-
I used to really love it! But it has gotten so...stupid :/ The whole Zack-ordeal was just an epic fail (one of the biggest I've seen on TV, I think), the Booth-shooting was so completely rushed and unnecessary (it didn't lead to anything else than 5 minutes of pissed off Brennan, and a situation where Sweets should've gotten fired) and the Hodgins/Angela-breakup? What the fuck was that? No wonder he didn't trust her, she literally jumped her long lost husband and kissed him, instead of, you know, telling him she wanted the divorce immediately. Plus, the break-up convo was lame.
My brother and I did a marathon of the first three seasons this summer, and the decline was so obvious it hurt. It used to be a wonderful show, really, but now they keep saying it's a "comedy", but all the best episodes have been when they deal with serious stuff, and they still do deal with serious stuff, it just seems like they don't want to.. Booth has become a cartoonish version of himself (the cocky belt buckle was funny one or two episodes, now it's just old. The bath tub scene in the finale - wtf? He acted like a complete idiot in the London-episode. The guy is a former Ranger and/or sniper, for God's sake, you'd think he was aware of other cultures and was able to show some respect - he used to be, at least. Also, the whole I-want-the-dead-guy's-chair-thing? There was a time where Booth would actually care about the fact that a fellow agent died, instead of getting his goddamn chair), Brennan's characterization is just all over the place, the romantic element has gotten annoying with all the anvils they've thrown at us (it used to be more subtle and we could see that they had chemistry, but at some point, they started to feel they had to tell us, which sucks.
It's like the showrunners don't even know what they want the show to be, and it feels like they're severly underestimating the intelligence of the viewers. Another huge problem is that things happen, but then they just seem to be forgotten by the next episode, except for the fucking annoying things, like the "lost husband" of Angela, who she by the way was reminded of in season 1, only to forget again before the wedding in season 2. The Christmas kiss, while I didn't like how it came about, might maybe want to be adressed? The showrunners keep saying, in interviews, that it shook things up for them etc, but we haven't seen the slightest hint at that. The grave digger? Hodgins seemed completely shook up, understandably so, by the end of the episode, but then everyone just forgot about the whole incident (or so it seems, for now).
...and despite all of this, I still watch :p Hoping it'll improve, and because I'm slightly invested in it.. The dog-episode this year was a step up (I had nitpicks, but they weren't major ones), but then the next one didn't deliver. Sure, there are moments when it's not half bad, but there are too many things that annoy the fuck out of me.
-
I love Pushing Daisies, it's one of the two shows I keep up with. I started watching it last year because I'm a Kristin fan, and I'm so glad I did. I feel like a jerk this season for watching it online, but I'm in residence and everybody watches Bones. :-P People with TVs, watch this show!
-
I love this show too. It's quite addicting, actually. Everyone in the show is great too. Ned's cute little expressions are so adorable.
-
I love this show, but I've heard rumors of its cancellation. Dick move, ABC.
-
The cancellation is, luckily, still only a rumor. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/eonline/20081031/en_tv_eo/66522)
-
Oh, good. Yay!
-
Glad ABC isn't the new FOX i.e. canceling a great show
-
Well, they haven't cancelled it yet, but they haven't ordered a full season yet either, afaik. There are 13 episodes ordered, and the last I read, they're beginning production on episode #13 tomorrow.. Soo, I don't feel like it's safe at all. Hopefully we'll get at least 9 more, but we'll see. Apparently, the showrunners haven't heard anything from ABC.
-
The URL is sort of misleading, but still. (http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b68886_pushing_daisies_really_dead.html)
It looks sort of bad :( I'm really hoping the ratings won't go down this week after the little hiatus, but I sort of have a feeling they will, but I don't know where it's coming from, seeing as I don't even know if they're promoting it much or anything.
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (http://www.buddytv.com/articles/pushing-daisies/abc-cancels-pushing-daisies-di-24707.aspx)
-
SHIT
-
:'(
-
Oh, fuck.
Along with House, those are my mother's favorite shows. Going to be hearing about this one.
-
I saw this last night, and it made me so sad :(
That shows like Two and a Half Men and CSI: Miami can thrive while the likes of Pushing Daisies are largely ignored is at once unfathomable and depressing.
So true.
-
My heart.
-
Nooooes.
-
If any show has to come back from the dead, it's this.
Argh, it's so frustrating. It was doing so so so well last season, then the writer's strike killed it. I hate you, writers. I hate you so much.
-
Yeah. Fuck the writers for wanting their fair share of money
-
Fuck yoooooooooooooooooooou ABC. Along with Pushing Daisies I really like Eli Stone.
-
Yeah. Fuck the writers for wanting their fair share of money
Fucking assholes.
-
This makes me incredibly sad. I was just getting into the show.
-
Yeah. I just wish it would have continued. With Ned's dad coming back and such.
And such an attractive cast. The things I would do to Ned. And Chuck.
-
There are, I think, 3 more episodes. We'll have to wait for season 2 DVDs, or for them to get leaked somewhere; if they haven't already.
-
There is some talk about potentially airing them this summer, but yeah, most likely we'll have to wait for the DVD. Apparently there has been some heavy editing of the final episode to give the show some closure, though, which I have a feeling I'll really appreciate, but it's still all kinds of sad.
