The 'Post 9-11 trance' was a 'rap' song of some description that encouraged people to forget about 9-11 and terrorism and dance to some guy in his pad whilst he got all the ladies... or something stupid.. either way, it was awful and it came out far too soon after the 9-11 event... I only heard it once, and I'm pretty sure the BBC banned it from ever being broadcasted again.
Anyone else heard it?

Songs banned after 9/11 is pretty old hat. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_deemed_inappropriate_by_Clear_Channel_following_the_September_11,_2001_attacks)

I found a link to the lyrics of the song... reading it, he may prove a point in some ways.. but still for me the 'post 9-11' dance is still inappropriate.
I'll leave it to open opinion though

How is it 'inappropriate'? It's satire, and really people should not be so fucking precious about it.
-
If your mum died and a week later I did a song urging people to forget about her and do a dance, would you not find it a tad inappropriate?

Whats so wierd about Aeroplane and Under the bridge?

Judging by the lyrics, the song was not written a week later. It talks about the war in Iraq, and ramping up the hate on Iran. This was clearly written in the last couple of years.
Secondly, the cry of 'Everybody do the post 9-11 dance' is irony. The concept of a 'dance' is pretty clearly a conceit aimed at Bush and Blair and co. The post 9-11 dance is what you do when you exaggerate and appropriate the threat posed by Islamic terrorism to justify going to war for oil and all that, and imposing harsh draconian 'anti-terror' law-enforcement measures (hence the reference to 'doing you like Brazilians' in the chorus). The song is pretty obviously not telling people to 'forget about 9/11 and dance like it never happened', it's criticizing those who take part in the 'dance' of the people who have used the idea of a 'post 9-11 world' to pursue their own ends.

The intention of the song seem to criticize the fact that the government is becoming authoritarian and using an event that happened in the past to judge to justify more extreme control and justify new methods of control that said its still tasteless delivery , I mean a dance song is not a good forum for social commentary and with lyrics like "I farted and got arrested for a chemical attack" its no wonder people found it offensive.

R.E.M. – "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)"
Why?? That's such a good song!
-
that is THE most ridiculous list i've ever seen. some of the songs make sense, i guess. it's stupid but at least i understand a couple choices.....as for the rest of that list: fuck whoever wrote that. i can't believe some people.
BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER??? yeah, these people are cartoon characters. there is no way they are real people.
-
guys I am almost certain nobody follows this list actually

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers killed my Grandma.

That list is the second worst thing (Thatcher being the first)

Given the repeated references in the song to the shooting of Jean Charles De Menezes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Charles_de_Menezes) and the 28 day limit I'd say this was written in late 2005 or early 2006.
It's really about the situation in Britain atm, rather than America. Oh and seriously, at the end of the day, do we need to go through the Clear Channel list again? We've been laughing at that for, what, five, six years now?
