Title: Persepolis
Post by: SevenPinkerton on 04 Mar 2008, 08:47
Anyone seen it? It's finally playing at a theater near me, so I'm watching it tonight. I loved the books.

I watched it this past Saturday. It is a good film, if a little uneven compared to the book.

I felt that it was really good!

It strictly follows the books (except for the stint about her being a weed dealer.)

Great movie. Certain parts felt like Marjane was Peppermint Patty - rambunctious and carefree. The rest of the movie had that melancholy feeling that was a big theme in the book.

I just came back from it. I loved the art! It was so much like the books, but you know...moving. It made it lovely and worked so well.

The movie itself was great. My fiance and I were the only ones in the theater. I felt bad. I wish more people would see this movie. Maybe it would halt the widespread American fallacy that Iran is a vast desert of savages.

I was the only young person seeing the movie.

That pumped me up.

Haven't seen it and doubt I will for some time. At the very least I expect it to be cool visually. I'm glad it didn't win the Oscar, however, since I highly doubt it was better than 'Ratatouille'.
Side note: Aceandcups, no pic sigs please. Thanks.
