Title: Hobocore?
Post by: Donald OBloggin on 16 Apr 2008, 08:36
I understand the hardcore/hobocore, but I have to say, Hobocore sounds like Stovocore, ie where Klingon warriors go to die.

Do heroic hobos those that love them go to Hobocore when they die?

There are many theories about hobo afterlife but the most popular rendition involves hobo valkyries escorting the deceased to hobo valhalla, in which they ride the rails all day and spin captivating yarns in good hobo company all night. There is always a trash can fire burning, plenty of beans to go round, and they never run out of lint (see Hodgman's Almanac for more information).

Prepare to meet thy hobo maker.

Hobo afterlife.... also described in the song "The Big Rock Candy Mountain", a stanza of which follows:

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains there's a land that's fair and bright
Where the handouts grow on bushes and you sleep out every night
Where the boxcars are all empty and the sun shines every day
On the birds and the bees and the cigarette trees
Where the lemonade springs where the bluebird sings
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

As afterworlds go, it sounds OK to me.
