Øyafestivalen in August.

I guess it's not actually one show, but come on, look at that goddamn lineup.
Everyone keeps mentioning Swervedriver and I keep thinking they are Skrewdriver and I mistake everyone for neo-nazis
sun city girls
I just saw Duran Duran this past weekend and Wu-Tang Clan in April.
Rob Halford is the God
I WANTED to see Islands and Wolf Parade but no go. I am seeing the Faint in August, though. That should be good. That will be my fourth show! I wish I could go to more shows.
Why not for Islands and Wolf Parade? Scheduling conflicts? Because I know it's not that you can't get tickets, those shows aren't close to sold out.
And are you seeing them in Austin too?
A Hawk and a Hacksaw on July 14th

You're going to that?!? Damn you!! Reliable sources suggest Radiohead might be the unannounced band. Sigur Ros, Bjork and Radiohead in one show sounds beyond awesome.

also MBV, Brian Jonestown Massacre & m83
Radiohead, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Firewater are the only well-known acts I'm seeing this summer. The rest are friends' bands or bands that just happen to be playing where mine is. Should be a fantastic three-months for concerts.
I was excited about Melt-Banana. Then I remembered I'd forgotten to buy a ticket and it's sold out. I might go and see Off Minor in Manchester instead.
So wait is this the new gig thread or something?
I dream of a pirate-themed Arkansas.
edit for saying something relevant: I don't think I'll be going anywhere until Warped Tour. It's such a wait to see about 4-5 bands.
Next Saturday at the Black Cat in DC Mission of Burma are playing Vs, which I've never really listened to but I'm sure is good if they're recent output is any indication (yeah, it's probably better, but I was late on the bandwagon, okay?).
Modest Mouse was pretty crap. Pretty solid selection of older tunes if you ignore the fact they did not play Tundra-Desert I mean come on guys, but Brock was not on his game vocally/drunk enough to be fun to watch.A girl next to me jumped on stage & hugged Johnny Marr. Love as Laughter and Band of Horses opened, they were boring or really shitty (BoHorses)
öde, make sure you see Zombie Zombie. I can think of few bands better at the moment to get a festival moving.
Maybe, depends if I go or not, which is mostly a money/time thing. -sigh-
Dur you are DC?
Wanna chill at Mission of Burma?
Radiohead in Glasgow. Nobody ever plays here.
I'm finalllllly gonna get to see Okkervil River in September. Woo!
Aw fuck yeah. I'm sure you've heard enough about RH's live shows but still. Prepare to be blown away.
You'd think that of all bands, Priest could choose a wicked opener. But I suppose, in the end, they don't choose as much as the record execs do.
warped tour. very soon. I'm seeing nofx in new England later this year. Seeing less than jake + goldfinger on the shout it loud tour. those are the ones Im excited for the most.
I'm finalllllly gonna get to see Okkervil River in September. Woo!
Me too! Yay! Also, Johnny is considering driving down here to see that same show, so you should help me nag him to ensure that he does.
Neat! I PM'd him saying something about having a house and having TWO couches. I think it'd be fun though if he came down.
Dovey, where do you live? I thought you were in America, but I don't see any America tour dates for Down.
The Dandy Warhols in August
The dude lives in Perth, yo. Yeah.
Opeth, Meshuggah, Judas Priest all in September. Unfortunately Down are playing on the same night as Meshuggah.
I'm psyched that Cavalera Conspiracy is opening for Priest.
I find it strange that even though I rarely listen to metal anymore, it still makes up the vast majority of major international bands I see.
YES YES YES just found out that Wintersleep are supporting when Wolf Parade comes by on the 25th. I am more excited for this show than is actually possible now.
yesss maps+atlases and mewithoutYou is all ages!
At the end of the month I've got Sigur Ros and Band of Horses. Also I just bought tickets for Patti Smith in October. Super psyched.
HEALTH tonight. 18+!
will i get in? let's find out
Tapes 'N Tapes,
August
23-Cold War Kids, Menomena
September
18- Vampire Weekend at the Wiltern
19- Hot Chip/Tokyo Police Club
Radiohead Aug 6th
ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod
Yeah, but I meant it like: No, I'm going to see them in Dallas at the Granada. Came out wrong. When did you see Wolf Parade? I saw them last Thursday when they were in Dallas, amazing show. Did you like Wintersleep?
Kanye was a big disappointment for me this summer. Sigur Ros too.
Dammit you guys that are seeing Sigur Ros and Broken Social Scene, they won't come down here.... The closest place BSS is playing is Missouri, I might just make the pilgrimage.
I'm also mad because Yndi Halda is coming to Denton while I'll be back around Houston, and when they come to Houston it'll be at a 21-up bar.
Kanye was a big disappointment for me this summer. Sigur Ros too.
Explain?
Radiohead tonight!
Hoping for some old classics
you do realize he felt terrible about the bonnaroo show and he apologized profusely right
I am sick of negative people who just sit around trying 2 plot my downfall... Why???? I understand if people don't like me because I like me or if people think tight clothes look gay or people say I run my mouth to much, But this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. This is the most offended I've ever been... this is the maddest I ever will be. I'm typing so fucking hard I might break my fucking Mac book Air!!!!!!!! Call me any name you want.... arrogant, conceited, narcissistic, racist, metro, fag whatever you can think of.... BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! THIS SHOWS NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY TO BE GOOD AT SOMETHING THERE WILL BE PEOPLE THERE TO LIE ABOUT YOU AND BRING YOU DOWN! LIKE WAYNE SAYS PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME DOWN CAUSE I'M FLYING! I'M FUCKING HURT BY THIS ONE. ALL I CARE ABOUT ARE THE FANS. JUST SAY THIS OUT LOUD IN A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE, "KANYE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT GIVING A GOOD PERFORMANCE." CAN ANYONE HONESTLY SAY THAT ????????? HAS ANYONE EVEN TAKEN THE TIME TO AT LEAST DO THE MATH??? BONNAROO SHOULD HAVE RELEASED A STATEMENT IN MY DEFENSE BUT SINCE THEY HAVEN'T LET'S BREAK DOWN THE WALLS ON THIS TRUMAN SHOW AND LET YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY OCCURRED!!! FOR OVER A MONTH WE WENT BACK AND FORTH ON WETHER OR NOT WE COULD EVEN FIT MY STAGE AT THE FESTIVAL. ONE DAY THEY WOULD SAY YES... WE'D SEND THEM OUR SPECS THEN THEY THEY'D SAY OK... THEN THEY WOULD SEND SPECS BACK THAT DIDN'T FIT THE STAGE. WE WERE OBVIOUSLY DEALING WITH FUCKING IDIOTS WHO DIDN'T REALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO REALLY PUT ON THIS SHOW PROPERLY. THEY TRIED 2 GIVE ME A TIME SLOT WERE IT WAS STILL LIGHT OUTSIDE ... I HAVE A FUCKING LIGHT SHOW DUMB ASS, IT'S NOT CALLED GLOW IN THE DARK FOR NO REASON SQUID BRAINS! MY PEOPLE WORKED OUT A COMPROMISED STAGE PLOT AND A 3AM TIME SLOT AND I AGREED. FAST FOWARD TO THE DAY OF THE SHOW. MY PRODUCTION MANAGER TRIED TO LOAD IN FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE I WENT ON STAGE BUT THE FESTIVAL WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO ANYTHING UNTILL PEARL JAM LEFT THE STAGE. PEARL JAM ENDED ONE HOUR
LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AT THAT POINT WE'RE RACING AGAINST THE SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AT 4:20AM DON COMES BACK 2 THE BUS AND TELLS ME, " IT WOULD TAKE 45 MORE MINUTES TO PUT ALL YOUR PYRO IN!" I SAY I HAVE TO GET OUT THERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE . I HIT THE STAGE AND PEOPLE HAD BEEN THROWING SHIT ON THE STAGE AND HAD ACTUALLY HIT THE JANE SCREEN WITH, I GUESS BOTTLES OR SOMETHING AND HAD BROKEN MY FUCKING SCREEN. REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE A SHORTY AND WATER WOULD HIT THE TV?????? WHEN I GOT 2 "THROUGH THE WIRE" I STEPPED ON THE FRONT PART OF MY STAGE AND THERE WAS SO MUCH LIQUID ON THE STAGE I COULDN'T MOVE WITHOUT SLIPPING. I HAD TO ADJUST MY WHOLE PERFORMANCE STYLE BECAUSE OF IT. A FEW MORE SONGS IN AND THE SONG WAS ON IT'S WAY UP.. I CUT A FEW SONGS FROM THE SET BECAUSE I WANTED PEOPLE 2 EXPERIENCE STRONGER WHILE THERE WAS STILL SOME DARKNESS TO PERFORM IT IN. I'VE STRUGGLED WITH STRONGER FROM IT'S CONCEPTION. REMEMBER LAST SUMMER WHEN I CANCELED SOME TV APPEARANCES. IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO PERFORM STRONGER IN THE DAYTIME. ANYONE WHO CAME TO THE GLOW TOUR CAN UNDERSTAND WHY I WANTED PEOPLE TO SEE IT PROPERLY. IT BROKE MY HEART THAT I COULDN'T GIVE THESE FANS STRONGER IN IT'S GREATEST FORM... BY THE TIME I GOT TO STRONGER IT WAS DAYTIME AND IT BROKE MY HEART. I'M SORRY TO EVERYONE THAT I DIDN'T HAVE THE ABILITY 2 GIVE THE PERFORMANCE I WANTED TO. I'M SORRY... SOMETIMES I GO 2, 3 DAYS W/O SLEEP WORKING ON MY PERFORMANCE... I HAVE TO ICE MY KNEES AFTER EVERY SHOW AND THEY HURT WHEN I WALK THROUGH THE AIRPORT... HAVING AN EXPENSIVE STAGE CUTS MY PAYDAY IN HALF... CALL ME WHAT YOU WANT BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL!!!
Nick Cave – Oct 2nd, $31 The Metropolis
I went to see What Made Milwaukee Famous last night. It was refreshing to see some guys who were just playing good rock music and having some fun on stage.
I'm going to ATP: New York in September. Here is the line-up. (http://www.atpfestival.com/events/atp-ny/line_up.php) It's a three day festival and it's a few days after the Monolith festival (2 days with lots of stairs), so it'll be a challenge to stand up.Ugh, you lucky bitch. ATP is a continually unrealized dream for me.
I'm also going to see Future of the Left/Ted Leo/Against Me! October 21st.
Radiohead at Outside Lands on the 22nd, !!! on the 26th in Sacramento, X next month in Sacramento, and MBV in San Francisco next month.
I like living in NorCal.

If it makes you any less jealous, she's not going to the ATP England which had a 10,000,000x better line-up (thanks to mother-fuckin' EitS curating).
Are Grinderman good? There playing at a festival that I'm at in a couple of weeks and I'm not sure if i should go and see them or not.
big eyes (oh, and tix)
But fucking hell, it's Okkervil River.
I have never listened to Slint. I think I have subconsciously vowed not to just because of how often everyone here talks about Spiderland.
M83, Built to Spill, Okkervil River, Mogwai, Efterklang
Bumbershoot is this weekend in Seattle. I'm not sure if I'm terribly excited about it though.
It will be my first exposure to Neko Case, however. Are they terribly good? I do not know. I will Monday, though.
I was pissed to find out that Sigur Ros was playing in my backyard, and I never heard that he was coming... to RedRocks no less !Throw me a PM on the days leading up to the show. I've got 4 tickets and I'm not sure all the accounted people are going to pull through for me.
I may just head up there and hope for a scalper, because General Admission seating is not my cup of tea.
Mogwai and Fuck Buttons at the Wiltern on September 9th. its in L.A. anyone else going? i just moved to california and dont particularly want to go alone.
On the 25th and 26th of September, Built to Spill, Dinosaur Jr. and Meat Puppets are gonna be in NYC.
I'm fuckin' psyched.
The 18th for me. And Stars the night after. I'm excited! It'll be really cool, despite my initial dismay, to see SR without Amiina or the brass section (since no shows on the US leg of the tour will have them) b/c they'll be forced to play a lot of stuff which doesn't rely on those elements i.e. a lot of stuff that they don't often play live.
Nah Kabir, they're all here for the New York ATP festival.
I do believe that a lot of them are playing individual shows while they're here. Like the My Bloody Valentine set we're seeing this month (they're headlining ATP too)
Uuugh. I just remembered I have class from 6-9PM on that day and doors are at seven. Damn it all.
You think that is bad? I've slowly have been coming to the realization that I am probably gonna miss Faraquet because I have no way of getting there.
Fucking Faraquet.
AAAAERRRRRRRRRG!
Oh man, guys! I just realized I am not doing anything this Friday and there are two interesting shows going on. Tokyo Police Club w/ The Whigs, and Mogwai w/ Fuck Buttons. I know Mogwai are good or whatever, but then again, I actually listen to Tokyo Police Club in my personal music time. I don't know though! It is so hard to choose!
Why?
Why?Speaking of those guys, two mondays from now, at the Hi-Dive!
oops, i meant it costs $5 fridays, saturdays and maybe sundays?
Riot Fest is happening again, and soon. I hate the name of it. I mean, really, it makes me feel like I'm a sophomore in high school, blue hair and all...
(btw, don't take The Casualties seriously and you'll probably enjoy them more. That's how I justify it)
I really want to see the Larry Arms again... Oh, how I miss the good old days when mom and dad gave me money to go to shows. Boo rent.
HOLY FUCK!!
Huh, $20 for Mogwai is expensive? Might be that it's different markets, but here in Stockholm, but I can't say I blinked when I paid $50 for my Mogwai ticket.
shows are on average $10-14 where i live, so yes.
Dandy fucking Warhols tomorrow!
I was considering seeing them here in November, but with their new album not quite doing it for me and tickets being $80, I decided against it... Got tickets to Meredith, hoping to catch Holy Fuck both there and at their side show, but we shall see. Oh, Augie March are playing here again soon too. Friggen sweet. I should really get tickets for that soon.
Sigur Ros. Tomorrow night. HELLS YES.
Sigur Ros. Tomorrow night. HELLS YES.
I was extremely pissed when I tried to buy tickets for their Chicago show TWO MONTHS ahead of time and they were sold out.
GAAAAAAAHHHHH
Math homework, suck a dick! You are making me miss a Bon Iver gig! I even bought a ticket!
@Ballard
My Morning Jacket on New Year's Eve? Serious win! Where are they playing?
MY BLOODY VALENTINE TODAY.
The Dandy Warhols were fan-fucking-tastic. Also The Upsidedown was pretty good.
Pelican was also really, really good, as always, although they didn't play "Autumn Into Summer"
I would just like to say that there is no better feeling than that of the cold metal of the press barrier on your wrists at a My Bloody Valentine reunion show in a venue that legally holds 3500 and probably held more.
Front row, dead center, motherfuckers. I was maybe 4 meters away from Kevin Shields and, at some point earlier, J Mascis, who jammed with one of the opening acts.
Needless to say myweeklife is made and I am still experiencing the aftershocks of musical orgasm.
Cue crappy cameraphone pictures.

They ended with a 20 minute long noise solo. Kabir scored Bilinda Butcher's set list. Anyone who's going, fucking enjoy it. It's truly an amazing experience. Bring earplugs if you value your life!
I saw Torche and Pelican yesterday.
Torche was probably the most ROCK thing ever. The guys were rocking out so hard, seriously. And when they brought the bomb guitars, it was so heavy I thought the universe was gonna collapse.
TSO is going to be in Denver December 3rd and 4th, I am going to try to make that show, I really need to get a job.
cheapest tickets are $40, I can afford it as long as nothing unexpected comes up, though I'm not sure who I will go with. All of the times in the past I have tried to go to big shows, though, something has gone wrong. Hopefully this one goes better.TSO is going to be in Denver December 3rd and 4th, I am going to try to make that show, I really need to get a job.
DO IT. They put on a hell of a show.
The Fest in Gainesville, this halloween. i can hardly believe it's less than a month away now! it'll be my first visit to the USA, and i'll get to see a shitload of bands, some i've been a fan of for years, some i've only recently discovered, and i'll hopefully discover a few more there!
Gogol Bordello on Tuesday should be rad.
Shiny Toy Guns don't really excite me as such, but a friend of mine is really excited about it and wants me to go with her. Anybody know if they put on a decent show or not?A friend of mine went to go see them and apparently it was a big disaster. That was a few years ago, though.

THE. FUCKING. ERGS. WEDNESDAY.
(hopefully!)
The Fall on Friday should be pretty good. I wonder if tommydski is going, IIRC he lives here and quite likes them. That would be weird.
I've seen the Fall a couple of times before. As you probably know, I love a lot of their records. In particular I am a massive fan of their records up to Room to Live. I still buy their records but I do not think I have interest in seeing them (or him) live any more. It's reached the point where it's actually pretty hard to watch MES for any length of time. The dude is messed up. He's still got it but he has this thing whereby he severely limits all of the things that makes live music an entertaining spectacle. Sometimes I want to hear a song or two from earlier records, call me a jerk if you like. Sometimes I want a bit of banter or audience interaction. Sometimes I want the musicians to be able to improvise or stray from the recorded versions of songs. Thus, I probably won't go.
However, I will go and see The Wedding Present later in the year!
No. I am way too busy, and besides, you saw how I handled The Wombats.
I am terrible at concerts.

the wombats
THE WOMBATS
Hahaha oh wow you really are
I had my reasons! I did not go there because I wanted to go a lot but because my sister and another friend of mine wanted to go and my friend was super depressed at the time so I decided to come along to cheer her up a bit!
RADIO SOULWAX
I won tickets to Deerhoof and TV on the Radio but both are within the next two weeks and I have nobody to drive to Minneapolis with to see them.
SAD DAY.
St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2009
GIRL TALK, STEREOLAB, ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI, THE HOLD STEADY, THE DRONES, CUT OFF YOUR HANDS, FOUR TET, TAME IMPALA, EL GUINCHO, JAY REATARD, BURAKA SOM SISTEMA DJ/MC SET, THE TEMPER TRAP, NO AGE, JOHN STEEL SINGERS, CANYONS, PIVOT, PORT O’BRIEN, HOLLY THROSBY, BORN RUFFIANS, MOUNTAINS IN THE SKY, TIM FITE, STILL FLYIN , DAEDELUS...plus more to be announced
Mountain Goats with Baseball in December! Should be awesome, Baseball are one of my favourite local bands.
Is it just me or does almost every british "indie" band's singer have the same annoying faux-cockney voice no matter where the fuck it is they come from? That said, the wombats are pretty bland and unoriginal.
thank fuck, i thought i was alone in thinking this. and being in the UK i get subjected to it all the more often. u want the worst example of it? "22 grand job" by the rakes. just a tone-deaf piss-sponge of a singer going "22 grand job in the city, it's alright" in a mockney-bollocks voice for 3 minutes. complete sack of horsewank, that song.

Oh man please do not be implying that The Rakes were ever as bad as the recent rash of crappy "indie rock" bands that have followed the Kooks (the Wombats, Scouting For Girls, Fratellis). They were never great, but they weren't as bad as a lot of what we get now. Plus, they're actually from London, so I think we can cut them a bit of slack for sounding like it.
KREATOR with support EXODUSMan... I dunno, Atrocity exhibit was pretty shit, have they been playing much of that in shows?
Next April though....
Rosetta and Broken Social Scene are both playing here in November. Though I doubt I could go... :(
I saw the Elephant 6 Holiday Special last night.
Black Kids are playing MTL tomorrow night but its sold out, so I dont get to go... Bummer hey?
don't listen to sam, he is never excited about anything !
And I'm seeing The Dodos soon
that should be awesome
Also I'm going to a free acoustic in-store with the Kooks and The Whigs at my local record store on Sunday.
which should be pretty cool.
Dunno, I'm mainly going for Kreator though. Fuckin' Mille Petrozza.
Oh man oh man I am so excited for Girl Talk on election day. It will be a great day for mankind
Alden Ginger of The Unicorns has a new band called Clues. It has some members of Arcade Fire and Hrsta and some other cool bands in it too. They're putting out their first album on Constellation (Evangelista and Vic Chestnut and Godspeed You! Black Emperor and such) next year. Anyway I booked them to play a show on my campus which should be rather fun. Apparently they put on a pretty excellent live show (with three drummers, no less). A Canadian duo called Elfin Saddle which uses all sorts of cool acoustic instruments and a home made drums is opening and maybe, as a first opener, an excellent new band from Main called Lady Lamb the Bee Keeper (check them out online. Good stuff and deserving of recognition!).
goin to see polysics in like 10 minutesThat's great!
fun fun silly willy
post-show edit: they're great
Broken Social Scene and Tegan and Sarah in February. =D
i will probably be going to see Exodus and Kreator with Belphegor, Warbringer and Epicurean opening in vancouver come april.
so excited to see Kreator
Skream and Benga are playing in January.
Second round of bands for Nick Cave Australian ATP announced: Dirty Three playing Ocean Songs in it's entirety...
So, I've got tickets for TSO on the 3rd of december, can't wait. It shall be epic.
... But Vic Chesnutt is coming in early January whoo!
If you like A Silver Mt Zion, you'd probably like Vic Chesnutt.
So, I've got tickets for TSO on the 3rd of december, can't wait. It shall be epic.
So, I've got tickets for TSO on the 3rd of december, can't wait. It shall be epic.
I might be going to the show in Albany. Saw them two years ago, it was pretty awesome.
Hey man, there's no ATP show in my town. I'd have to travel clear across the country to see it (I will not). Fuck me indeed.
Valley_Parade, if you do end up going to the show in Albany, make sure you go to Bombers Burrito Bar on Lark Street. Giant, tasty burritos for cheap and it should be walking distance from the Times Union Center provided the weather isn't terrible. Which, you know, is a crapshoot this time of year.
Brett and I were going to go to ATP, but it is on a Thursday, which is basically the worst day for me ever as far as work goes. Laaaame. Brett will probably still go though, you should travel across the country and see it with him Dovey.
Guys ATP is TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. Plus booking fee. I would love to see Dirty Three play but... yeah. Not for 200 dollars.

Here's the problem, Gene. None of my friends like Boris. I played Pink for a friend yesterday, and afterwards he said they were "too loud".
Also I don't have a car.
Andrew Bird is coming on February 3rd.
Won two tickets to see Yeasayer, tryin' to get friends to go with.
vampire weekend
vampire weekend
Isn't that that band that everyone on the internet says are so amazing and totally underground and liek TEH BEST NEW BAND and I just wonder why I should give a shit, and probably sounds like a rip off of every other damned "Indie Pop" band ever?
That band?
Travel back in time with me to last Friday and we'll call it a date.Won two tickets to see Yeasayer, tryin' to get friends to go with.
Hey man I am totally a friend right?
Travel back in time with me to last Friday and we'll call it a date.
Sadly I was not able to make it, it was the first real day of snow in Colorado and everybody was craaaaaazy.Travel back in time with me to last Friday and we'll call it a date.
How were they? Their debut was fantastic but I can't help but get the feeling that they're more of a studio band. The clips I've seen of them live make it seem like it's difficult to reproduce their recordings exactly in a live setting.
In May, MONO will be performing one show in a church in New York with a full orchestra. It'll be the first time ever. There's only going to be the one performance and it's not the kind of thing that's likely to happen again. In other words, I couldn't be more excited for May.
The fuckin WILDHEARTS!!!! on monday!!!!
for those who don't know, they're like cheap trick, metallica, and guns'n'roses mixed together, but better than all three. this gig is going to be AMAZING!
Mogwai.
Early March.
I'm going to the Trans Siberian Orchestra this afternoon! It should be loud and awesome.
I'm going to the Trans Siberian Orchestra this afternoon! It should be loud and awesome.Don't worry, it will be.
Mogwai.
Early March.
I'm also looking forward to seeing Alkaline Trio in February but my enthusiasm is crushed slightly by the fact their last two albums stunk.
Aw fuck me sideways, I can't believe I missed Blake's new band playing here in New York. I was waiting on some announcement from them and they go and play some private parties.
I was thinking of going to see them for their usual stay at the Beacon in March. Let me know how they are.
I've got a couple of tickets for Animal Collective in NYC on Jan. 20th. I can't decide, though, whether I want to go or watch the inauguration speech.
sdtykfhlggjk;;;'
whhhhyyyy do I not live in america
Yea, about the Allman Bros.
So I've been pumped for this gaslight anthem show in two months right.
So I was listening to The Hold Steady today and was thinking, wow I've heard these guys put on a pretty good live show, I'm going to look at their tour dates.
They are playing the same day as the Gaslight Anthem. I am frustrated now.
Since when do these bands even come near me, and now they are doing it on the same day.
I'm going to see the Bicycles (http://www.myspace.com/thebicycles) on Saturday! For free!
The only show coming up for me looks like Civet/Dropkick Murphys in Albany, March 10th.
I'm jealous, that sounds like it's going to be an awesome show. I want to see either Dropkick Murphys or Flogging Molly, both are playing in the next two months in NYC, and none of my friends want to go :|

Hahaha it's funny that you think I read Pitchfork. I'll level with you man, I think Fall Out Boy make incredibly tight, infectious pop music, but their utter enthusiasm for selling out makes me retch. All of their clips are just fucking commercials.
And their fans are scum.
usually I am more diplomatic than this but you caught me on a bad day so fuck it.

For those who can't read the fine print:
Mastodon, Neurosis, High on Fire, Boris, 1349, Cryptopsy, Torche, Nachtmystium, Wolves in the Throne Room, Baroness, Harvey Milk, Kylesa, Zoroaster, Withered, Krallice, Toxic Holocaust, Skeletonwitch, Rwake, A Storm of Light, Warbringer, Salome, Suidakra, Tyr, Alestorm
Shit I just uncontrollably orgasmed all over my computer.
Road trip down to GA anyone?
All the dates OWTH are playing are 2 hours are way from the midlands! Apart from the sheffield one which is the same night as Fucked Up & The Bronx are in Brum. I suppose I'll go to the one in Newport cus its a saturday.
If I had to make a choice, theoretically, between Cut Copy and Tokyo Police Club, assuming I like their music pretty much equally and for different reasons, which one should I go see? Which band has the better live show?
A band called The Future of the Left opened for them, and they were amazing. They were a punk band from Scotland, and there was really no one on the floor when they played so during a synth solo about 8 of my friends and I formed a kick line.
I'm seeing Dropkick Murphys on the 8th at the electric factory. I'm excited. Gonna wear my kilt.
Well since I live in san antonio, i typically have to drive to austin to see any good shows, but this March is looking pretty good for me. Tokyo Police Club and Ra Ra Riot are playing here on the 13th, the Gay Blades on the 15th, dear and the headlights on the 17th, and then Cursive!!!!!!! is coming on the 18th. Which is crazy cause they are only playing 8 shows and for some reason along with 2 in New York, 2 In LA, they are coming to San Antonio. Fucking sweet though. Oh and plus, Pelican is playing on the 18th as well, so in case the cursive show is sold out to quick, I got a backup. Sadly, this will probably the best week of concerts that San Antonio will ever put together.
And then of course I have SXSW to help me enjoy my spring break.

I've just started listening to The Gaslight Anthem. Just a couple of times through their album from last year is more than enough to make me really want to see them live. I don't get to many rock 'n roll shows, my concert attendance being mostly limited to ambient/noise/post rock shows and such. But these guys are so good that I find it hard to believe they don't put on a phenomenal live show. Anyway I'll be catching them in Philly at the Trocadero come late March.

QUESTION FOR NORTH JERSEY/NYC CONCERT GOERS!
Has anyone here been to a Central Park Summerstage show? TV on the Radio will be there June 5th, and the tickets go on sale this friday. They're $30. What kind of venue is this? I've never seen them, so I'd like to go, but I don't really wanna pay $30 to go and stand in the middle of a park with a bunch of other people. Is it worth it?
Tuesday March 3rd 2009; The Indigos support To The Bones at The Rainbow
Sorry for the "GET A BLOG!1" message, but any help would be appreciated, I am kinda shy and stuff, probably some of you are going what the hell is this scrub talking about, but it is kinda a big deal for me.
Ok so MONO are playing in the nearest city to where I live, I want to go see them SO bad but, er I've never really been to a gig because all my friends either don't like music or like music that I personally don't enjoy. Does anyone have any advice about going to gigs alone? Any specific advice for the band, I can't imagine they are gonna get to SUNN 0))) levels of needing a spare pair of pants and earplugs but...
Mother Mother next week... Primal Scream week after that... The National in May.. Should be fun.

Fight you!
Man that isn't one of those Brian Jonestown Massacre/Primal Scream split bills is it? Because I will be unbearably jealous.

Explosions in the Sky will be playing the central park summerstage in june.

I'm gonna see Motley Crue in Manchester on St. Patty's day. It's gonna be awesome! I just hope I won't be KILL BY DRUNK DRIVERS. That would put a damper on the fun.I dunno. The Verizon center is notorious for having terrible acoustics.
Come down in July so I can fucking entertain you and not have school.
Shit come down any time so I can meet you already.
Ouch Shane, that hurts inside.
Against Me!, for the millionth time, next month.
Against Me!, for the millionth time, next month.
Damn, I really wanna see them again. I'm gonna go check to see if they're coming East Coast/Stateside soon :-)
And that tour with Ted Leo and Future of the Left? I'm still kicking myself over not going. I think I missed them AND Earth in the same week.

Dinosaur Jr. in State College next month
May 9th The Thermals at the Bowery. I am excited.
the Aggrolites
the Aggrolites
Now there is a fun live show.
Most definitely. I saw them a few weeks ago, and during the encore, they played an AMAZING two-tone medley.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre never fail to impress.
Second time seeing them, mind even more blown than the first time.
All Points West is really disappointing this year with the exception of Sunday which is pretty cool.
Definitely not disappointing, if you ask me (considering the mediocre they've had in previous years, too.) :-D
There are a million people more badass than Bruce Springsteen. Henry Rollins and Lemmy are infinitely more badass.
Sonic Youth and Wilco in July......
Sadly I really only have the funds to go to one of these shows...what to do, what to do?
man shit there are gonna be so many good shows this may.
in a week im seeing fucking mono,
I just found out Tortoise in coming to DC in July, and I may have to drive four hours up there to see them. I mean, it's fucking Tortoise.
And apparently my friend just bought me a ticket to go see Wintersleep come friday. I have exams next week damnit!
And apparently my friend just bought me a ticket to go see Wintersleep come friday. I have exams next week damnit!

speak in first-person!
TFW, which song? they have two on their site, they released one on pitchfork and another on stereogum. also i doubt all the tracks on the album sound like "retarded power-metal" or however you described it.
Mogwai is touring with Women, so if you can see that show you should.
Oh shit.
Going to see Okkervil River tonight.
It's likely. Very likely. Shit though only a few more hours!
Mogwai is touring with Women, so if you can see that show you should.
You never got to meet my band though.
For the rest of your years, you will feel a twinge of guilt upon remembering this. Your life will, in all likelihood, turn out comfortable and satisfying, but there will always be a small piece missing. You will live going through the motions, unable to remember what's bothering you. You will realize only on your deathbed.
awesome MONO pics
Yeah I invited Sean to come to my band practice and hang out with my band and I and party all night but he failed.
I found out about the Spiritualized gig in Manchester where they will play Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space from start to finish.
I saw them over the summer, but god damn do I want to go see that come December. Anyone want to sponsor a ticket to Manchester for me?
-During their last song, "Lazy Eye," the Silversun Pickups' guitarist's chord broke, and so they launched into an epic jam session, and when they finally fixed it, the guitarist played with quadruple the intensity that he'd been at the entire show, culminating in the best finale ever.KERRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

-AAAAAAAAAAANNNNNGGGGG
i'm gonna echo Scarred and say that Sasquatch was fucking incredible. he pretty much hit the nail on the head as far as highlights go...EXCEPT for Black Moth Super Rainbow.
dear thread about shows:
i am trying to decide between seeing fischerspooner (june 2nd, $25) and tiga (june 5th, $15)
what are your thoughts on this?
love,
anna
I actually had plans to go to Bonnaroo, but as of now my ride has bailed. So, I have $210 wasted on a ticket to a festival I can't go to. Fucking sucks. =/
Also, why would it cost $2.50 for me to print the ticket at home?
I found a ride back from, so now I can go to Bonnaroo, fuck yes!
August 16th in Central Park
Dinosaur Jr. + The Walkmen.
Who's with me?
(oh yeah, it's free)
Oren Ambarchi, ambioso guitar-electronics freak and member of Sun O))) and Burial Chamber Trio, is going to be making a loud-but-quiet ( :? ) noise in my town next week. Ace.Oren was amazing. Unlike a lot of ambientish artists he really works bass frequencies, which has this weird effect of making the room feel totally full but also sort of empty - the bass was so intense that every shift in tone got a different part of the room resonating, but because there wasn't much happening in the mid-range / typical rock frequencies even a quiet conversation at the bar was pretty obvious. When he started building up higher noises on top it seemed like a way more intense build-up than your average pile-on-the-distortion crescendo.
Holy shit.
So how does it work? Are there just free tickets or do you just show up? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I've just never been o a free show before.

FUCKING SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE REUNION
FUCKING SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE REUNION
Say whaaaaaaat. Didn't even know this was a thing that had happened
Sonic Youth last night at the Electric Factory in Philly.....wow. It just was so fucking loud, sound bouncing off of everything. Plus there were crazy lights and pot which made it so much better. They ended the show with the sickest version of Silver Rocket ever. Definately one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
Except I don't think I'd be able to get a bus back to the Berkshires in time to go to work the next morning, fuck.
Man, there's a Casiotone For The Painfully Alone show tomorrow night and I can't go cause I just realised he's gonna be there. It's the second time that's happened. Well, Third Time's a Charm.
Man, there's a Casiotone For The Painfully Alone show tomorrow night and I can't go cause I realised too late that's he was there (didn't advise my parents nor anyone I know...). It's the second time that's happened. Well, Third Time's a Charm.
And also An Albatross. They were so good last time I saw them, I'm dead excited to see them again!
Dammit... Okay, uh, I wanted to go see CFTPA, but I couldn't because whenI realised that he was in Montreal, it was too late for me to go because I didn't advise anybody that I wanted to go. (we have a rule in my house that if I want to go to a concert, I have to advise my parents at least 3 days before the concert). That's the second time it happened.
If you don't understand that one, then just fuck it, it's not that important anyways.
FUCKING SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE REUNION
Say whaaaaaaat. Didn't even know this was a thing that had happened
Yep. They're playing like 15 or 20 shows. And I won't be here for the one in NYC :|
Greg Gillis puts on a surprisingly awesome show considering the nature of his music.
Arrrgh! I didn't realise they were touring
Also, why the fuck was I not informed that Army Of... are back?
playing loads of MOR shite from On A Wire and christ that would be horrific.
Also also, hiya!
tops off crusties.
They reformed just for the Cap Cas date. The Notts show is their last booo! It's Friday, You & elenor are more than welcome to come down!
Mono and Maserati. :-D
Mono and Maserati. :-D
P.S. I've been trying to see The Hold Steady live for years now but they just never seem to be around!
P.S. I've been trying to see The Hold Steady live for years now but they just never seem to be around!
I can not recommend seeing The Hold Steady live enough. Cancel plans, sell valuables, crawl over the prostrate and bloody carcasses of your most cherished loved ones. Just see them.
Saw Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
Saw Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
I am seeing him again Sunday. The first time I saw him it was after his apartment burned down and his cat was missing and he was SO Bummed Out, but apparently the cat came back. I guess Cryptacize is opening, they're on Asthmatic Kitty and also some are members of Deerhoof. Suck it, Deerhoof haters!
I'm hopefully seeing them at Siren Fest on Saturday.
Coincidentally- Siren Fest, fuck yeah! Built To Spill, A Place To Bury Strangers, Future of the Left, and a bunch of other bands.
tortoise were doooooooooooooooooopeWhat was the setlist like? Mostly Beacons of Ancestorship, or did they play older stuff as well?
Probably seeing Coke Bust in august! yaaaay
(http://siren.villagevoice.com/siren/images/2009/Schedule.jpg)
While I am incredibly jealous of people I know going to Siren, I get to see fucking Wilco in basically my backyard tonight, which is crazy considering I live in a random NYS Suburb. Just what Wilco's doing playing a stadium where my local minor league baseball team plays, I'm not sure. All I know is I'm going, and it will be awesome.
If by "excited about" you mean "expecting it to be an awesome show but I really wish it wasn't happening"
Last minute thing, but I went to a Briggs concert and it ripped my face off. It wasn't that crowded and the people that were there were fun as hell.
Man fuck that shit. It was moved because of the rain, into an inside venue, with a max capacity of 500 people. It didn't rain that day from three o'clock onwards. The line was actually around the block.
I was in this very line, and the show didn't even start until like midnight. I ended up having to get home way before that but according to some friends it was worth it.
also, clutch september 16th!
also, clutch september 16th!
I'm going to this too!
o/
encored with my father my king.
If anyone has seen them recently playing the whole album live I'd love to hear how it sounded played through!
Blink 182 tonight *ducks from objects being thrown at me* in Pittsburgh. Road trip with an old friend to go. We always wanted to see them in concert back in high school. Our parents were a bit over protective of letting us go to a concert at all. So now that they are together we can finally say say we did. Say what you want about blink 182 or my taste in them but they are what got me into playing music.

I have just had a listen to them, they are dead good. If they ever come to the UK I would let them stay at mine & make them breakfast. That's how much I like it.
so, the funfunfunfest (http://www.funfunfunfest.com) lineup is pretty fucking insane.
Looks like Satyricon has negura bunget and Shining as support this winter. Awesome.
Grizzly Bear/Beach House this Sunday! Woo!
I have some chances to make it to Denmark and watch Rammstein Live... I have to
Deerhoof was glorious
I like Om alright. Are they any good live?
Holy ass!
The Pixies are bringing the 'Doolittle' tour to Australia!

Seeing Low tomorrow. Good idea? Y/N

Hammers are great (I'm biased as I know a couple of them) but having seen them live a couple of times they've been really good both times. Did you enjoy them? I've not seen most of those bands though, do tell?
If you haven't caught AIDS Wolf before, definitely try as hard as you can to catch them. It's really worth it.
Just got back from The Weakerthans at Music Hall of Williamsburg.
And some band called the Psychedelic Furs.Jealous.
So Algernon Cadwallader is playing Glasgow this Tuesday.
stoked
Going to see the Happy Mondays tonight. And some band called the Psychedelic Furs.
Went to see The Horrors and Japanese Motors on Tuesday.
Dude, I saw MMW for the third time earlier this year. How weird is that?

they made up for it by playing a lot of stuff off you forgot it in people. and a new song!
Going to see Mastodon, Converge, and High on Fire on the 12th. It's going to be siiiiiick
Are Grizzly Bear any good live?
I can't decide if I should go or not since I liked Yellow House but Veckatimest left me pretty cold.
[/quote
If you're talking about tonight's show you should go for 2 reasons.
1) Grizzly Bear are amazing live.
2) When is a band like Grizzly Bear ever playing in Poughkeepsie, ever?
Shit, they're playing Pughkeepsie?? What on earth for? I go to school around there and if I were in a band I would ensure we never set foot in that cesspit.
Hey! I'm from Poughkeepsie! I...what is it again..resemble that remark?
Mastodon Dethlok, High on Fire and Converge on Friday
shit yes. Although Converge's dog barking vocals make me wince
i am gonna see dawn treader holy shit.

I was considering going to see this before I read that High on Fire's set was only half an hour. As they're the only band on the list I was really interested in I decided to save my money for when they start touring for their upcoming album.

You've never seen High On Fire live, have you?! Even if they only played five minutes, it'd still be worth it. They will rock your face off.
same venue my high school graduation was held in.Haha I remeber the sign up at Sunrise Music Ctr where I graduated: Saga/A Flock of Seagulls.
-edit: He just emailed, they're supposed to be at will call. Any DC area forumites going?
who is this pavement of which you speak? Some cereal, s'pposed to be good for you. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYEXzx-TINc)
Oh man THE BOOKS in three weeks
just found out i have to go see a classical pianist play saturday night. it's mandatory.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
BUT: I really really don't like their latest, and this being a tour on the back of their latest album odds are the set list is going to lean heavily towards songs from that. I don't really want to spend a lot of money to see a band I like playing songs I don't like. Decisions, decisions.
Chances are that they'll play Hazards of Love in it's entirety. You may want to factor that in to your considerations.
I've gotta assume since this is their first trip to Australia they won't be doing just Hazards Of Love material.

Good lord, Sasquatch 2010 "discount" tickets are $170. The lineup better fuckin' mindblowing otherwise I might sit this year out.
I'm seeing The Flaming Lips tomorrow!
Japandroids
Too bad, Mudhoney are fantastic live. They usually start their shows with a cover of This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNmx1r0Cx8M).
Sometimes they even throw in a Black Flag cover!
British Sea Power have announced five dates in Australia in February. The band will be playing two sets at the Perth International Arts Festival, including a performance of their soundtrack to Man of Aran. They will also be playing dates in Melbourne and Sydney and will be headlining the Playground Weekender Festival in New South Wales. For more details, go to the ‘Live’ page
Tonight is Friendly Fires with The xx opening. I'm really excited.
Pitchfork says Arcade Fire this summer! Guys, this is one of the Best Live Bands we're talking about here.

It official. I am going to see Joanna Newsom on March 14th! I am so happy!
AFI and Angels & Airwaves plays here in march.
WTF? I thought that silly band was over when b-182 went on their 'need more money' tour
I also really want to see Bela Fleck play, but he's going to be ridiculously expensive, so I'll probably give it a miss.
Om are playing on the 6th of february. fuuuuuuuck
I'll be in Atlanta for most of my spring break and I just realized that Shearwater is playing a show while I'm going to be there! Yessssss. They are an awesome live band. It'll be the first 21+ show I can go to :-)
that would make sense if julie doiron wasn't actually a great songwriter

In 7 hours. Pretty impressive. And the show on the 14th is now sold out too.

Did you manage to get a ticket? I'll be going with a few friends and am pretty excited about the whole thing.
Also, Besnard Lakes, Scout Niblett, Shearwater, and Quasi will be here in the next few months!
Ted Leo on March 23 in San Fran. Not a goddamn chance I'll miss that. Weddings, funerals, all plans are OFF that day. What if I have a Zombie Wedding in a Funeral Parlor? Huh? How about it, Patrick? What if I need a best man?

It would seem that Converge, Coalesce, Gaza and Lewd Acts are touring the U.S together, (http://www.metalsucks.net/2010/02/01/converge-coalesce-hardcore-tour-of-the-season/) you lucky sons of bitches.
Have I mentioned that I hate every last one of you?
Just found out Broken Social Scene are playing here in May. Worth going Y/N?

They're playing in San Fran on May 1, is that the show you're considering going to? We could totally meet up at BART, I'm planning on going if I've got the cashes.
pffft the bronx
The only one I have my tickets for already is P4K Festival (PAVEMENT. OH MY GOD PAVEMENT. YES.) which apparently already sold out of 3-day passes in less than a week - I won't be surprised if the one-day passes for Sunday (aka Pavement) are gone soon too. Depressingly I just bought a ticket for myself and I don't even know if any of my friends are going - I know some people who were thinking about going but I don't think they have tickets yet and I don't know if they'll want to do it if they can only get single-day. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU
Saw Smith Westerns and girls last week, Dr. Dog in April, Retribution Gospell Choir in April, Coachella in April, other things.Man, I wanna see Smith Westerns. That'd be a good show. Also, I feel like you should go see Passion Pit, but maybe because I've missed them like 3 times and am generally jealous of your op!
Still tryna make the decision between Mayer Hawthorne/Passion Pit and Beach House. I can get free tickets to the first one but I've already seen Mayer Hawthorne and I dunno if I care about passion pit/hella screemin teens, and I've heard Beach House is fuccin amazing.

Dude, didn't they extend the BART line out to Livermore? BART is awesomely easy and cheap. Much much cheaper than living in SF.

So Dropkick Murphys last night was pretty good, considering the opening 3 songs played were 3 of the 4 songs I knew by them. First off, the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ is a pretty cool place. Great part of the city, the theater itself was beautiful. The sound inside was decent, not amazing, not awful. The Murphys came out on fire. About 5-6 songs into the show, the singer started yelling at a guy all the way down in the front about something during a song. When the song was over, he yelled at the guy again. I don't really know what the guy was doing, but it was enough to piss the band & the bouncers off. Then, about :30 into the next song, all the sound goes out. All of it. The band waited it out for a few minutes, then walked off the stage. The house lights kept coming on and off, and no one really knew what was going on. The crowd started getting pissed. Finally, after at least 20 minutes, the band came back on, played two songs, and then announced that the fire alarm had been pulled. They thought the guy they yelled at pulled it. It sucked but at least it was kinda entertaining. The rest of the show was pretty good.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh I can't gooooooooooo to Gogol Bordello anymore fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

3 days until I see her in a shitty venue in Toronto.
I thought the Ukrainian Federation show on Sunday was pretty good despite (1) the wooden pews; (2) Neal Morgan a.k.a. the most pretentious barefoot drummer on earth; (3) the opener. Yes, I'm calling Morgan pretentious in the context of a Joanna Newsom show.
Also, if you think Phoenix is bad, in a few weeks I see spoon at Soundstage, formerly The Docks. In an all ages show. Meaning that the drinking area is cordoned off. Pity me.
This Sunday night there is a show that I am going to and I am looking forward to it.
It is the Pixies playing Doolittle.

I don't know anything about Neal Morgan except that he was really funny and friendly when Joanna Newsom had to tune her harp for about 8 minutes and left him to his own devices to talk to the audience. I couldn't see his feet. There was water dripping on him from the ceiling for basically the entire show.
What was the setlist like at the show you saw? They could only play for about an hour and fifteen minutes on Saturday. I think they had to be done by 9.30.
I'm pretty anti-shows these days because they're expensive and involve travelling but, having seen the Pixies twice already, I would instantly drop anything and spend all my money to see them again. They are fantastic live.

He came off as a nice guy during the Sunday show. And hey, I got to ask them a question about their "musical studies" (they have none (well, the two arrangers anyways)) and I got to plug Owen Pallett's record. (I feel like such a street-teamer though (twas worth it))
Last song was Emily, encore was a song I forgot the name at the moment (someone requested Only Skin). And yeah. that's from the top of my head though.
To: illicitizen ([email protected])I'm not going to dignify it with a response but I really just wanted to say, "stay in your fucking exurb enclave and watch TV or go listen to some dadrock blues whilst having a choco-tini you pussy assed mother fuckers." BTW, this was from a drummer that we entertained playing with. Good luck with the fern bar circuit, bitch. /RANTOFF
Apologies for not showing up at your show tonight after clicking "yes". I suppose we got there too early - around 9:35. The parking lot was completely empty and there was a bearded guy standing on the sidewalk talking to the sky. Decided not to stop this time. Hope it went well.
Right now I'm pretty excited about seeing Eyehategod That should be pretty good.
Going to see Mastodon and BTBAM at The National in Richmond April 18th.
Super pumped to see YACHT on the 26th
Just curious, those of you who have been seeing Joanna Newsom: what's the merch like on the tour? Seeing her tomorrow in Durham and I'm trying to plan out how much cash to bring for stuff.
the New Pornogaphers and The Dodos in June
and i'm totally skipping exams to go to CMAR Fest...
Mountain Goats were Fucking Awesome tonight. They played for almost two hours. They had a drummer. On some songs John played keys. Fucking keys.
Oh and also his good-natured but hilarious dissing of a guy who called out for "No Children" very early in the set:
"Yeah that's a great idea, 'No Children' as the third song. That's like going to a Bruce Springsteen concert and expecting him to play 'Glory Days' first."
(He played "No Children" in the first encore.)
Going to see Mastodon and BTBAM this sunday. Sucks that Baroness will no longer be there, but I am still hoping to pop many a boner
So the drummer's in ICU after neurosurgery for brain hemhorraging. Holy shit balls.

Broken Social Scene in NY in three weeks.
I am so excited about this that I may not be able to control my bodily functions.
Dang, sounds like we missed the opportunity for a Richmond meet up Sunday. Next time I'm going to a show in that direction, I'll make sure to telegraph it.I might hit up Porcupine Tree in a few weeks at the same venue. They seem to have lots of great music come through the National.

I'm seeing Grouper in a renovated can factory in June.
I really, really, really hope the stars align and LCD play in a place at the same time as I am in that place when I am darting around N.America later this year. I'd hate to think they are going to disappear and I didn't see them again.
(I just really really want to see Mates of State and Wolf Parade.)
The Dead Weather! Such a good show.
I'm seeing Grouper in a renovated can factory in June. Before and after then, Eluvium, MONO, Mates of State, maybe Wolf Parade probably some others.
