I know it's late and there's only five minutes left of the day, but I've been celebrating too much to make a thread. Any other Canadians kicking around here? How did you celebrate? Personally I had a large group of friends over and we barbequed everything we could before watching the fireworks.
-
I celebrated by relaxing for a day.
GOD BLESS CANADA.
-
I went to a parade and ate Canada cake (just a big cake with the Canadian flag iced on it) and had my picture taken with a Mountie!
We were pretty busy today though because I am helping my hosts move house. Today Matt and I went out on our very own for the first time! We walked down the street to find snacks, and discovered the marvels of A North American Supermarket. We were all "Holy crap we're in a foreign country woo hooooo"
-
I thought about Canada a bit. And I distinctly remember saying "Eh" at least once yesterday. I like Canadia, I've had some fun times there.
-
Mountie!
For people who don't speak Canadian, this is a male pornographic film actor. Not to be confused with a Mountee, unless it's homosexual pornography, in which case the terms are interchangeable.
-
We made butter tarts (apparently these are Canadian), I put a bunch of maple syrup in the rye bread I was making, and we made a big mixing bowl full of poutine which we took with us to watch the fireworks.
It was pretty sweet.
Happy Day, Canada!

I got my face painted :3 Then I watched a really messed up movie called feed and then got some tail. It was a good day.
-
so that explains the celebrations in trafalgar square last night. was wondering why people had spraypainted themselves red and white and were waving canadian flags. especially as these people were south african, not canadian. how odd, or as you say "how odd, eh"
-
I wrote a twelve page paper detailing how much worse off America would be if Benjamin Franklin had been our first president instead of WASHINGTON.
This was not celebrating.
I am sorry Canada. I am sorry.
-
My friend and I went down to the lakeshore to watch fireworks, then said screw it and walked back and drank sodas at a cafe. All in all, a good wholesome time.
-
I wore a red shirt.
-
I did my laundry guys
-
Plenty of beers and BR's in the park followed by a fairly amazing fireworks show, and then saw Rock Plaza Central at one of my favourite venues in town, all in all an excellent Canada day

I kinda am having a Canada Week... I love this holiday.
-
do mounties still wear those uniforms for patrolling in?
-
no, it's more a special occasion uniform. the actual RCMP uniform is blueish black.
