Jeffrey Tambor certainly says so! (http://www.collider.com/entertainment/interviews/article.asp?aid=9816&tcid=1)
I think I've got pop pop in my attic, if you catch my drift.

sweeeeet
-
It's been on the books for a while...
but hey heres hoping that it lives up to the show.
-
They're called magic ILLUSIONS! Tricks are what a whore does for money!
-
Any news on if Michael Cera will be in it? When I heard about the possibility of an AD movie back during the beginning of the summer, Mr. Cera did not seem willing to be in on it when asked in an interview.
I'm interested to see what the plot will be.
-
Fuck yeah! And yeah, Will Arnett confirmed it when he was on Conan earlier this year.
IMDb says Cera is "rumored"... hm.
oh fuck 666
-
Eh, the movie could work without George Michael. Wouldn't be optimal, but I'd prefer to see a movie without him than no movie at all.
-
We just need a believable replacement...
JAMES FRANCO
-
that would make no sense and also my life

The fact that you're calling it that tells me you're not ready

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ron Howard and Mitch Hurvitz have signed deals with Fox Searchlight, which means that, lord willing, it's only a matter of time. Hurvitz will write and apparently he'll share directing duties with Howard.
-
Right, so, Michael Cera was being a right cunt about it and holding up the progression of the film, but according to ye Tambor he's in (http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2009/01/29/2009-01-29_arrested_development_movie_is_on_.html) and it will be made made this year.
-
Michael Cera is still totally the worst dude, though.
-
Man I used to like Michael Cera but he's just a dick now and he's going to fuck up Scott Pilgrim fuck that guy so bad.
-
Yeah exactly. He is like, the worst person ever for that role.
Anyway, I should be playing Scott Pilgrim.
-
Sources are saying that Cera is now on board, and it's happening. Hooray.
-
Necroing for great justice. I just want to point out that Will Arnett, who is filled with awesome, is born in Toronto.

OR COCAINE

I have that shirt. I wore it on Tuesday which was an interesting coincidence because my band did an impromptu recording of our song "Siren Tricks." Needless to say, I called it "Siren Illusions" the entire time.

Um hey fuck you for making me think there might be actual news about this
-
David Cross is skeptical... (http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/04/07/david-cross-arrested-development-movie-not-going-to-happen/)
-
But Scott Pilgrim looks badass so fuck you Kiff and Dovey
-
As far as I can tell that is despite the presence of Cera, not because.
-
try telling further
-
I don't understand that sentence what does it mean. Like I see those words and I know what they all mean individually but the way you have strung them together in that order is completely nonsensical.
-
As far as I can tell
try telling further
nah, makes sense.

1) John you should probably stop taking it personally when people don't like the things you like
2) Your post still doesn't make sense to me, are you implying that I shouldn't be making judgments on the quality of the Scott Pilgrim flick based on the one preview that is about? 'cos it's not like there is any alternative, and also you are doing the same thing, just arriving at different results.
-
Sorry to get back on topic here, but it has always seemed to me like people anxiously awaiting an AD movie are kind of forgetting that the series was already rather perfect and have never considered that perhaps we don't need a movie. I mean, remember disappointments like the Strangers with Candy movie? Do you really want AD's legacy to be similarly tarnished? It's time to move on, people.
-
I'll have you know that Brain Candy was pretty okay.
-
I'll have you know that I would not be satisfied with an Arrested Development movie that was pretty ok.

what the fuck does a guy have to do around here to get his pithy one-liners taken as such
i'm not adopting that stupid sarcasm symbol or whatever either
-
i believe the current convention is to include italics in at least some part of yr post i mean come on man geez
-
i'll have you know that my signpost for pith is a lack of capitalization and significant punctuation you dickhole

I have FINALLY got this to watch & have barely left my room for watching. Amazing supporting cast, I mean something with Will Arnett & David Cross in was good enough for me, but to start adding Henry Winkler, Amy Pohler, Liza Minelli in it's every bit as good great as I was lead to believe.
I don't like movies of TV shows, except Serenity & maybe one and a half of the Futurama full lengths (They sort of count, due to it being cancelled then brought back from people complaining on the internet & DVD sales & al that jazz.)
The Simpsons movie wasn't great, I have not seen the Sex In The City movie as I already watched my "Film I know I will not like" this year on a bet. (It was Paul Blart: Mall Cop. I got a kick ass Star Wars T shirt. It was worth it.)
-
I recently finally watched all of AD beginning to end (I've seen most of the show but totally out of order and in bits and pieces) and jesus christ it really is one of the most well constructed and hilarious TV comedies ever made. The fact that there are running gags that only work in reverse is so f'ing brilliant it hurts.
-
Yeah I recently finished blowing through all three seasons in a row and it's incredible to watch everything just build and build.
Tobias' arc in the third season is actually something I could barely believe made it to network TV. "Actually, George Michael was having trouble looking at his dying uncle."

Bump'd (http://www.nbcnewyork.com/entertainment/television/NATL-Arrested-Development-Creator-Has-Good-News-about-the-Arrested-Development-Movie-115399074.html)

Reading this thread makes me realise maybe I shouldn't take this too seriously, considering there have been about three or four posts in here from the past two years which have all said "NO IT IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING RIGHT NOW".
Anyway this is awesome because that article was posted almost to the minute coinciding with when I started rewatching AD again.
-
Yeah, I have accepted that the AD movie will come out the same day Firefly is back on TV.
Ain't reading news.
-
Shush you guys you can't kill the only reason I have left to live
-
I love AD just as much as the next guy with decent taste but I'm almost hoping this movie doesn't happen, considering the quality (or lack thereof) of some of Hurwitz's recent projects.
Exhibit A: the pseudo AD reunion that was Running Wilde that somehow still managed to...y'know...not be good.
-
Hi, my name is Anyung.
-
Running Wilde was actually pretty decent. Sit Down Shut Up, on the other hand, was awful. Animation is probably too rigid a format for their collective sensibility.
Anyway, even when they get the script hammered out Michael Cera is going to be out getting his dick sucked by girls with bangs on tour with that Man Man side project so it's still a long, long shot.
Also David Cross is pretty fat now.
-
Finally, something to look forward to! :D
