What manner of song do you want playing as you walk around, something that encapculates how you feel at a certain moment?
It can be a specific song or just a descriptive thing. I am not sure of mine, but Voltaires "when You're evil" is a facorite at the moment.
-
"California Love" - 2pac
-
I feel like "Do You Realize???" by The Flaming Lips most encapsulates the mindset I am in most often, but if I had one song following me around as I walked around on the street it would probably be the entirety of the "Accipio" EP by Mountains in the Sky.
-
"Slow Burn" by Hudson Bell.
Listen to it.
-
"California Love" - 2pac
If you mean the remix version without the horns and piano I will fucking MURDER YOU.
As for mine, it'd probably beeeee...
Fuck, I'll get back to you.
-
Returning to the Fold - The Thermals
Can't really say it any better than "I can't believe I got so far with a head so empty.."
-
"California Love" - 2pac

Gaz what kind of trash do you think I am? Of course it's got the goddamn horns and piano. I'm not a terrorist.
-
The soundtrack from Amelie.
-
"Who Dat Ova There"- Q-Tip
-
Good mood: Sublime — 40 oz. to Freedom
Bad Mood: Smashing Pumpkins — Fuck You

Yet another emergence of Chuggo on this forum. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhszQbOl95k)
Seriously though, the entirety of June of 44's Four Great Points. Every song on that album.
-
"Wood and Water' by the Skatalites.
-
Hm, on the general I'd say Razorsharp by Collide.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a-S-ARt3-8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a-S-ARt3-8)
Or alternatively, I touch myself by Genitorturers in the NIN remix when entering my favorite club:)

I have Atlas by Battles playing in my head a lot. That or something by MF DOOM or Jonathan Coulton.

I take the batman theme song and replace the word 'batman' with whatever I am doing at the time.
Never fails.
-
The Pokemon theme song.
Because I want to be the very best. Like no one ever was.

...Shut up, i like it.

Dark Eternal Night-Dream Theater
...Shut up, i like it.
meh, don't feel bad. i was gonna pick "As I Am" but then i realised this was a "theme song" thread, and not a "wrestling entrance theme" thread. i don't even like wrestling, but i've got my entrance theme lined up... that's kinda weird.
-
Depending on my mood, either "Sun Feet" by Eisley, or that one Scott Walker song with the creepy Donald Duck noises near the end.
Oh. It's called "The Escape."
If I was a professional wrestler, I'd definitely want to be introduced by Gojira's "Vacuity." Or "Sun Feet."
-
Either "Disorder by Joy Division" or "Web in Front" by Archers of Loaf.
Oh, or "Moonchild" by M83.
-
"Top Drawer" by Man Man.
In fact, I do walk around with that on a lot.
-
"California Love" - 2pac
nice choice
i could never pick a theme song...
but i will anyways!
In the beginning by k'nann
-
It would have to be Cochise by Audioslave
-
I am sad to say the first thing that popped into my head was Stereophonic's cover of "You Sexy Thing." My subconscious is sick.
Although their version of "Ooh La La" would work.
Other than that, my tastes in background music tend to lean more mainstream than my other tastes in music. "Come Around" by MIA or "Oh Timbaland" would work, and if I'm in a bad mood? 99 Problems of course.
I suppose if I ever went on the prowl, I might want "Flower in the Night" by CALLmeKAT. That song is SICK.

@ Spoon of Grimbo - LaBrie does have a wrestler's physique, you know.
-
I think I've got to go with: Subterranean Homesick Alien - Radiohead. That's just about the greatest song to see the world through. All misty and dream-like? Alright, alright.
-
Broken Beaten Scarred: Metallica
-
Those funky bass licks on Seinfeld.
-
I feel weird because if there's something that I can turn on and enjoy it would generally be classical. :|
-
Dark Eternal Night-Dream Theater
...Shut up, i like it.
You say that like liking Dream Theater is a bad thing.

It isn't? Awesome!
Don't listen to Alex, he is a terrorist and I am pretty sure he kicked a puppy which ran into a minefield and got a-sploded.

No. No it is not. Everyone should love Dream Theater.
Cause I say so.
Me, some dude off the internet. My word is law. /totally serious
-
If I really had to choose, I'd probably go with The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes" because I'm generally a hyperactive/angry/depressed little fuck who has to overly control his emotions to be tolerable.
-
The Bee Gees - Stayin Alive

Now?
Old Crow Medicine Show's version of "Wagonwheel." Of course, I just got back from going to a wedding in south carolina (not mine, mind you)-"If I die in Raleigh, at least I will die free."
And it evokes my love of the south, such as it is, in a way kinda parallel to Faulkner (but less intellectually, more viscerally).
Depends on my mood, though. Sometimes it might be Bach or Palestrina.
-
So Dream Theater is acceptable around here? Well, that just about makes my day.
-

Hey hey hey, I didn't plant the mine, did I?

I may wish to augment my initial choice. While I still LOVE California and therefore my original choice is still relevant, that is my energetic "FUCK YEAH" theme. My fight song will be "Join Together" by The Who. My pissed off and/or upset song will be "Quadrat Im Kreis" by Wizo. My love song is "Alison" by Elvis Costello. The song for my death will be "Concerning The UFO Sighting Near Highland, Illinois" by Sufjan Stevens.

I'm utterly amazed that this hasn't been mentioned yet. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fWvub_WBho)

-
Surburban Kids With Biblical Names - 1999
I imagine myself dancing through doors with this playing from a boombox on my shoulder.
-
I play the beginning of the pink panther theme in my head when I'm sneaking
-
Sabrosa by the Beastie Boys.
-
I play the beginning of the pink panther theme in my head when I'm sneaking
I do the Mario Bros. dungeon theme.
-
Everything I Try To Do, Nothing Seems To Turn Out Right - The Decemberists
Yeah, I fuck everything up so much that I can't even have my theme song be anything but The Decemberists.
-
Damn, why do I gotta not be alone?
-
Bladecatcher - Mastodon
Who the fuck needs lyrics?
-
This is tough for me, it would be much easier to think of songs for when I am in a specific mood, but I think I'll go with In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion by Agalloch. The Wilderness and This Old Cabin came in close second, along with something off of Sculptured's Embodiment album (I can't find lyrics for it, and the album fits together as a whole enough I can't pick the songs out easily).
-
When I'm really fucking pissed, I blast "Hysteria" by Muse. Followed by "Hyper Music."
