When I was in high-school, back in the 90s when Pop was British, there was a small spider that lived in my locker. I named it Jarvis in honour of Jarvis Cocker, who was my hero back then after his shenanigans interrupting a pompous Michael Jackson performance.

Pulp is pretty cool. I can't say that I am all that familiar with them, though. Actually, my tase in music is curiously devoid of bands from UK that were at the height of their popularity/creativity or formed after the 80s. I can only think of like 8 bands.
Oh also, when I was a little kid I used to get Pulp and the Fall mixed up all the time.

You misunderstand. My point is that every time someone says they dislike something, you always like it. Almost without exception. I like britpop too!

a fair number of pre-Different Class songs are really good (see also: Babies), but their best songs were mostly on This Is Hardcore. "Sylvia", "The Fear", "This Is Hardcore" and the best description of post-breakup desperation that is "TV Movie".
