Because I have all of the ones I want from that list already on my computer via emulators?
(I also have a gamepad to plug in, it is pretty sweet.)
Edit: Also, my obsession with Shining Force is well warranted, if you want to get that set it's totally worth it for those two games.
-
I honestly have no idea how I managed not to hear about this, but with the exception of 2 or maybe 3 games, I no longer require a emulator. Joy!
-
Holy shit. Congo Bongo.

-
Holy moly, what is it being released on?
-
360/PS3
-
man, even i knew about this.
fun fact about yelley: playing ecco the dolphin used to seriously creep me out. i could only play if someone was with me and it was light outside still.
-
No Killer Instinct?
I call shenanigans.

ecco the dolphin is the best survival horror game in the history of mankind
incidentally, upon seeing the op i jizzed in my pants
-
Wasn't Killer Instinct SNES?
-
Wasn't Killer Instinct SNES?
that's what i had it on, i don't know if it was also on the genesis
-
I will play Phantasy Star on my secondhand Master System...
And by god I WILL beat it before that internal battery in the cart goes dead.

so the level that freaked me out the most was called 'open ocean' and that shit was awful. there was nowhere to go! no rocks, no ocean floor, just sharks! i like my life to have some kind of dependable element... like the ground or other solid surface. i don't think i ever even passed that level because i couldn't play it long enough to figure out what to do.
-
You just swim forward and kill sharks, basically.
Man, Ecco was such a brilliant game. It really was. Whoever thought of making a game about a time traveling alien-killing dolphin that's played completely straight deserves so much money.
-
holy shit that is fantastic. there are some seriously great games in there, along with a bunch of games i never played but have heard good things about.
now's my chance! yeehahh

Killer Instinct was a Nintendo exclusive. It was made by Rare back when they were owned by Nintendo.
-
I miss old Rare actually, some of the best games are made by Rare.
-
Ah, the younging days I spent in my brothers bedroom reading batman comics and playing Sonic the hedgehod 2 instead of playing Lunar SSS like all the good little geeks my age.
But yeah, I can get most of these by other means for free, and so can you.
-
Yeah I always thought Rare made the best games. Certainly for the N64 anyway.
-
I died a little inside when I heard that Rare was sold to MS and was taking Banjo and Kazooie with them.

Have you played the abomination that they churned out for the 360? It ruined many fond memories of mine
-
I haven't played it yet, but I mean, it couldn't be all that bad could it? And I enjoyed Viva Pinata if nothing else.
Kinda wish they'd bring back Conker though.
-
Its... bad in my opinion. The vehicle creator is pretty cool, but they take all of your favorite characters from Banjo Kazooie and Tooie and turn them into a steaming pile of pathetic.
And you can find Conker's BFD released on plain ole Xbox.. I still play it from time to time. Its one of my favorite childhood games ever made
-
Eh, Nuts & Bolts isn't bad, but it would have fared much better as a new IP or them actually hyping it as a spin off rather than a new B&T. The vehicles are quite a bit of fun if you like building things especially.
-
I have the Xbox version actually, and I hate it because while it leaves the main story intact with all of its goodness plus updated graphics, they tore the multiplayer to pieces and built up some steaming pile of shit that not even the Great Mighty Poo would associate himself with. Seriously, one of my favorite parts of multiplayer was back in the day sending a throwing knife into one of my brothers heads and splitting it open like a melon, or gunning down incoming frenchies on the beaches, or grabbing the loot in Heist or ripping cavemen in half while rampaging as a giant man eating raptor. Seriously, what the fuck.
-
Yeah, that bit upset me quite a bit as well. It was like a much shorter-lasting, irreverent form of Battlefield 1942.
-
Good news! It seems from my playing thus far, the Emulation is spot on perfect!
-
Emulation? What, like project 64 or something?
-

Sweet. I'm getting it Friday.
-
Oh wait, I'm a complete and utter dumbass, i didn't realize you'd switched back to the original topic, haha.
oh god what have I done.... *shiver*
-
No problem Phil, we still love you!
I'm lying. Buurrrrrrrn.
-
why'd you bother making the burn in italics if it was already too small to read?
-
For Lilliputan emphasis oviously.

Conker's BFD
childhood
...
-
Because age on the Internet matters.
-
I think he was more weirded out about little kids playing Conker's BFD.
-
Right on, Ozy.
-
What, you're telling me that the Great Mighty Poo isn't a good role model for my children?
-
I was 11 when it came out, me and my friends used to know the Great Might Poo song off by heart. I could probably stills sing some of it now. I agree that they butchered the multiplayer in the xbox version, it was so much more fun in the original.
-
Yeah I was around that age when it came out, and so half of the time while playing the story mode through would just be me laughing at either a poo joke or someone cussing. I didn't get half of the sexual jokes either at that point but me and my brothers were smart enough to not play it around our parents.

I felt the sale was bad for Nintendo, too. Of course, they're doing gangbusters, but all their games (while still fantastic) have a distinct...Japanese feel to them, with the possible exception of Metroid. I felt like Rare's cast of characters and their handling of the Donkey Kong Franchise really added some diversity.
...I would've killed to see Banjo-Kazooie in Brawl.
-
yelley and I bought this game the other day. I am sad that toejam and earl (both 1 and 2) are missing but it has enough other good games to make it worth it.
